Interesting that USPC has authorized repros of a deck they believe they have rights to. My view, being fortunate to have the real thing, is that it will aid in the education of collectors and make the few originals around more desirable.

By the way, the current 52+J auction, which ends March 16th, has a nice Triplicate. See lot #30

So join up and start bidding - would be great to have the original right beside the repro in your cabinet

I like the look of the deck wish there was a middle ground on the limited tuck that did not have the paper and stamps that might get it into my price range.  I guess I will just add it to the list of Pierre's decks I wish I had  :o.

I really like this deck. I like the Heritage series as well.

Gives me a chance to see and hold in person the historical decks I may never would have.

Bravo!

If my paycheck could handle it I would be there with you.  I need to get my wife back to work, then my habit can run wild again.

I pledged  :D

Nice way to get a vintage design into my collection without breaking the bank. Quite excited for the following planned restorations,  too!

My oh my...these are quite lovely.

I'm not a big fan of the faces of the court cards, however...the Jack, Queen, and King look too tired.

These are VERY cool! Very few projects come along with the purpose of rebooting an old style with this much attention!

They've done this in the past - one example that comes to mind is the Bicycle All-Wheel.  They accidentally titled it "All-Wheel No. 2" because it was the second deck listed in Mrs. Robinson's book!  Straight-up reproduction, ordered by a third party, sold with serial-numbered seals in a run of 2,500 decks.  New Fan Backs by both Dan & Dave and Zenneth Kok, Steamboats, etc. - lots of them out there.  Did I miss something in what you were saying regarding "a deck they believe they have rights to?"

BTW: I'm really liking that card back.

I was wondering where the No.2 came from! LOL

I *love* the long flap.  But you're right, every court looks terribly, terribly sad.  And that poor one-eyed Jack.  I feel his pain.

:-)

What I was thinking if they are sure of the rights why not do it themselves - like Big Gun?

While the price is a bit steep for a deck or two, it is, as mentioned by others, a great way to have a touch of vintage/history in your collection. This is going to be one of those, do you open or not decks, the appreciation of this desk is most definitely in the tuck and it's contents.........now be careful pealing away the wrapper  ;)

This looks like a lovely reproduction of the Triplicate deck but as a collector of original cards I generally find that the quality is not nearly as good as the original. That being said, it is nice to be able to have a new example of an early deck, (originally published as a method of using corner indicies), along side new issues.

However it becomes tricky when these decks start to appear for sale and a few people are unscrupulous in their descriptions. We try to describe all reproductions in "Clear the Decks" hoping no one gets burned - I do like the clear description of this on the very cool wrapper!

Good luck with this project...

Backed too, as soon as I got the email. I sent Michael an email about possibly getting more than one limited deck added, unfortunately, he's only only allowing one per backer.

Jay  all of the 8 bit decks were done by Cobey Pile.  These guys did a few 8 bit card games

Michael Scott was part of the traditional 8-bits, but Homerun Games as a whole produced the decks as a company.

EDIT: good news, you can now pledge for 2 limited decks and 2 standard decks. Just pledge for the $70 tier.

I'm in for the 2+2, and will probably add a few more decks and an uncut later on. Very nice work reproducing these!
