Interesting. Looks a bit like the Propaganda deck mixed with the Army Men deck.

I'm guessing he'll do better with this one. The design is smoother, more refined, and better laid out.

I was going to mention Propaganda, but Army Men didn't click with me - considering the deck turned into vaporware...  Striking similarities - not a bad thing, really.  Despite the simplicity (or perhaps because of it), I was rather fond of the Propaganda deck.

Oh, that's MORE than very similar...  It's pretty plain they drew inspiration from the Propaganda deck.

Yeesh.

The globe, the scrolls, the explosives pointing towards the center, the propeller, the layout...
That's some pretty heavy inspiration.

The map design that's all through the deck is pretty cool, especially with the bombers in them make the uncut something nice. But I'm really disliking the King of Hearts there. Call me being over-sensitive 'cause I'm Asian, Chinese not Japanese, but I'm finding how the Japanese general, or whatever rank you want to throw on him, to be a bad caricature of Asians. I know it's stylized, but it leaves a lot to be desired.

The other courts are equally as caricatured.  Doesn't really make them attractive - he tried too hard to shoehorn in modern dress and accoutrements on classic courts, and it just doesn't work.

I like the little airplanes on the spot cards.  That's a theme that should be carried further, like little tanks, jeeps, deuce-and-a-halfs, ships, etc.

Wow $55 for a lighter. That's quite a price I would say. I could never be a Zippo collector as well with prices like that.

I have a personal issue with the amount of 'influence' taken from the Propaganda decks.. not cool.

I'm a fan of the Civil Unrest, and looking forward to its delivery.  But this one, it seems like the guy just rushed into it, should've let his ideas stew a bit more and perfect the deck.  The caricatured courts, particularly the Japanese styled one and the German giving a Sieg Heil salute...  umm, yeah...

Should've refined it a bit more and waited to launch the campaign.

I loved the propaganda deck so much! First theory11 deck I ever received ~ back then it cost me £5 from magicbox :) I'll probably get these just because of that!

Propaganda is a very nice deck. This deck on the other hand, though borrowing (way too many) elements from Propaganda, is nothing like the original in terms of aesthetics. I don't think it does the original any justice at all. With that being said, this is not a bad looking deck at all. It's not in the same ball park with the top dogs running the show but it surely isnt terrible. I merely dislike, and even despise, the lack of creativity demonstrated by literally getting the Propaganda back design, taking the exact same elements and changing them slightly (especially when it does the original no justice and is in fact mediocre in comparison).

My 2c.

I also appreciate the front of the cards - the map and plane details are interesting! Probably look better on an uncut though...

The idea looks kind of familiar, don't you think?

I read this earlier and figured I would pass it on. This is the introduce yourself of the maker of this deck.

Trust me, I know all about this. But it doesn't change the fact that his first campaign is not fulfilled. It's nothing personal, I'm merely sticking to a principle. I DID back his first deck and I will probably buy this one when it becomes available.

From a purely logical and calculating standpoint it makes no sense to back this project, and letting a halo effect affect your judgement when it comes to kickstarters (or anything involving giving someone money) isn't a good idea in the long run. But I still believe, and hope, that RJ will deliver.

I just thought I would pass it on in case you had not read it. I personally didn't back either of his KS so I can't really relate but sticking to your principles is key. I tend to fall away from them when it comes to KS.

Thanks anyway  :)

And don't worry, you'll also become cold and cynical when it comes to kickstarter soon enough :-P
