To be 100% honest, as someone that is putting a lot of time and heart into designing a real deck of cards, I find this right on the cusp of being personally offensive. Not quite, but it really rubs me the wrong way. I really can't see any reasons why this needs to exist, as these memes by nature are completely transitory and won't be funny in a few months. Perhaps other folks will find the humor in it.

I won't wish them a lack of success, but certainly won't be giving them my money. Seems best suited to the Walmart checkout aisle, not a collector.

Accordingly, I find this deck quite amusing! :D Never before has this been done, so I give them props for that. But, due to the lack of creativity I won't be funding this project, although, I'd like to see how far it goes, seeing as it already has 12 backers.

Ugh. Sorry, but I really don't like this idea. To me, it seems almost as bad as a clip art deck.
No way am I going to be pledging even a dollar.

I would get them if they were:

actually usable in card games, magic and cardistry
standard sized
used rage comic faces instead of random memes

right now this is a half baked project that doesn't cater towards the right people.

Your kidding right? No thank you.

Yeah, these are not for me. I've never seen anything like this before, I'll give them credit for that. I'm surprised that people have already started pledging for these. It only shows 1 or 2 pictures. No ace of spades, joker, or back design pictures! And it might seem offensive to some people. Let's just see how successful this is.

Not to mention that you can't even use these for card games or magic

looks like crap, plus $7 for one deck :( and for a 1000 you get to help influence it. so no decks at that price? :(

used rage comic faces instead of random memes

That's what I expected when I saw the title! And with some effort it could even have looked nice.
The "cause" is a total joke, and the cards could've been designed by a six year old. Pass.

Yeah, this idea is a novelty at best, suitable for the bargain bin at Barnes and Noble and not much more.  It's the kind of silly, dumbass trinket you look at ten years from now and say to yourself, "What the HELL was I thinking?!?"  At least with something as silly as parachute pants, they were in fashion for more than 15 seconds, and with a group of people that extended beyond cubicle dwellers and 4chan members.

"Bring memes into the offline world"

Would defeat the whole purpose. They're supposed to be kind of an inside joke.

Yup, these meme's were meant for the internet and that's where they are supposed to stay. Whenever people try and bring it into the "real world" it becomes really dumb, and honestly they are never as funny in the "offline world". This seems to me to just be someone trying to flip a quick buck using an aspect of popular culture.

Actually, there's one place where online memes and the offline world merge rather successfully and profitably.

http://thinkgeek.com

This deck practically screams to be sold there.

Somebody had to think of this sooner or later!! Right? People look to make stuff like this all the time.

For example, when Chris Paul was traded to the LA Clippers (now known as Lob City), there were shirts with the La Clippers logo and the words "Lob City" replacing "LA Clippers" in online shops within an hour!! Insanely fast!

This one took a little longer, but it had to happen.

They're funny. I happen to have a few decks like this (mad cats playing cards, which are actually pretty funny), but I'll pass on this one.
