Hello guys! I thought this might a cool idea for a thread on what you're working on at the time being! Be it a trick or flourish, do feel free to update us on what you're learning. Who knows, you guys may end up sharing some pointers for people practicing the same thing as you!
Currently I'm practicing Maddona 2 and 3. Almost got everything down smoothly until the last revolution cut. I'm also trying to create some flourishes of my own:D
-
i am practicing casino royale with cheese <---- got it pretty well but hope to perfect it and zarrow shuffle hope to make it as 'invisible' as possible and i am also going to learn a card trick soon from a dvd
-
I'm working on The Sybil Cut and ShiNAG!! I need a bit of help with the Sybil though, how do I cut in into perfect sizes packets all the time and what are some small things I can throw into it for make it look a bit more flashy? i.e, more flourishy than it already is?

Actually you do not have to cut into perfect sized packets:D, just make sure that the pack is stable enough not to bend. Furthermore, there are alot of Sybil variations on the net, do check out Artsinfinity . I believe he has a video of Sybil variations. Hope I was of help!

I'm trying to get a nice even flower fan.
My flower fan was taught by Ekat before when she still had her free tutorial vids on youtube. She was a great teacher.
I'm trying to do the Russian Pyramid.
-
I'm actually considering starting to learn flourishes. Anyone know where I could start off?
-
Genesis 1 has a lot of the basics. Or you can get Born To Perform By Oz P. and learn tricks on the way
-
Thanks! I'll see if I could get my hands on those soon.
-
Although PURE I think is awesome because I learned better from Ekat than Andre. NO offense to him of course. I think having a female do the teaching has a different psychological effect on me. ^_^ its like, "OH LOOK! She is a girl and she can do it. So i know I can too!!!" then I realize that Ekat has giants hands........
-
Daren Yeow's(The Virts) Sqeeze Cut. I just got it. :P
-
I'm not really learning anything new, I'm just practicing old basics: my passes, my scisor cut, my flower fan (you can learn it on Genesis v1), my pressure fan, under pressure...
-
Working on the molecule four trying to give my own spin on it to make it a little different.

I am now practicing using the PRISM DECK by Joshua Jay. It's really a great and versatile tool, and I recommend you get it if you haven't already!

Ya know, I have been looking at that trick for quite some time now. But just never took the plunge since I have Lennart Green's rainbow deck. So you definitely recommend it huh. Hmm, might have to pick it up here soon.

Is Lennart Green's rainbow deck really worth it? I'm pretty sure I figured out the trick. Is the method easy?

The method is super simple. Its basically uses the same method as the "matching sisters card trick" if you are familiar with that one. I actually got the deck for free when I purchased Lennart Green's Masterfile. But I do really enjoy the deck because it consists of 52 different backed cards for the most part. I'm not sure if every deck has the same cards. But a few that came with mine are white arcane, magic castle, jack daniels, Luis De Matos, karnival etc........I think its pretty neat in that aspect.
-
Cool. I'm going to do the trick with the PRISM deck.

Nice! Im guessing you know the method then. ;)
-
Well, I thought I guessed it, and when you told me it was simple, I decided to try it out and it turns out I got it right! BTW I was wondering, are all of his rainbow decks the same because I have seen a couple different vids of people using them and they had different card backs...
-
Thats what I said above. Im not sure if every deck is the same. They might all be a little unique. Which in a way is pretty neat. I should check out some videos on youtube and see what kind of cards other people got with their deck.

Oh, that's cool! Some people got tally-ho circle backs and fan backs, many casino cards, aristocrat casinos, bees, bicycle vintage, etc.

The actual cards - are they different stocks and finishes? If not, they're probably just reprints of the originals, in which case the cards would likely be the same from deck to deck. It would be a lot of trouble to have different deck sheet designs and different printing plates created.
I have the Magic Makers Rainbow Deck. There's a variety of cards in there, but there's a bit of repetition, and many identical designs in different colors - ever see a Santa Back in a color other than red or green? I suspect the Green deck and the Prism deck are better in terms of variety, but likely identical or close to it in terms of how they work. I haven't watched my Rainbow Deck DVD yet, so I couldn't say.
(I always thought it odd that most sellers will sell you the MM Rainbow deck, but not the DVD they made for it...)
