Hi everyone, awretch here! I got to know about Discourse while I was trying to purchase some decks through Alex's Playing Card Shop when he posted about the sale on facebook a while ago.
I've been here for about a month now but have mostly been just reading post, hopefully I'll be able to post more and participate in more discussions in the near future. I'm a transfer student from Malaysia who's currently studying in the States. Started learning magic and sleights of hands at about two year ago casually but haven't really got into it due to study time constraints. Now more of a card collector(missed the VORTEX deck, :( but proud backer of tendrils, steampunks, galvanic, spectrum etc..). Hoping to rediscover my passion for card sleights and maybe cardistry when I find time in between my studies. =)

I'm sure you've familiarized yourself with the boards, post your comments and let us know what you think! Especially in the Feedback and Design boards, those need the most attention because we're always striving to make the board, and the products better!
By the way, I think you meant you missed the Vortex deck, and a proud backer of Tendrils.

I'm guessing you meant you missed the vortex Kickstarter, right? I missed it too, hopefully I'll be able to pick up a couple at some point though.
I hope that you do start finding time for card magic and cardistry, it's such a shame to just buy cards and have them sitting around desperate to be handled. At least play a game of solitaire/patience everyone once in a while!
As you've probably realised already, the Playing Card Plethora (http://aethercards.com/discourse/index.php?board=3.0) sub-forum is the most active and you can learn a lot about playing cards there, and I'm sure you will and that you'll contribute to other people's learning too. There's also the Magical Cardistry Bonanza (http://aethercards.com/discourse/index.php?board=10.0) for magic/cardistry in general and if you do start picking it up again I'm sure that sub-forum will come in useful.

I agree, that's why I still occasionally practice some cuts or flourishes. =)

Thank you! It's good to be here. When I first used 'awretch' it was the first email address i made many years ago. If I remembered correctly, my friend suggested wretch which originated from the word wrecca, meaning outcast, or exile. I used it then and it stuck.

ebay will cfm have them .. check out the standard good ebay retailer like bmpoker aceking pokerstud 1eyejack etc .. there are still alot of others

Also, you said you would only be able to post once in a while. That's fine, that is the case for many of us. Thank you for the encouragement! am starting to practice a few new flourishes and re-learning a few old ones. And yeap, allocating about 15 minutes of my time in the morning and another 15 at night to read and reply any post i might find interesting. :)

I totally understand what you mean about rediscovering your passion for magic and cards.
I was on more or less the same situation. But yeah I'm pretty sure us folks here at Aethercards will hell you ignite that
FIE-UH (fire).
anyway, I hope you have fun here though. We're all cute and cuddly creatures of the dark abyss... or maybe thats just me.
But yeah, since you have been lurking around here for some time, I'm pretty sure you know that there are TONS of interesting topics you can find here. And if there is a particular topic you are searching for, you can always utilize the SEARCH function to help you out. ^_^
its really all fun and games here.... A very diverse population of card fanatics :P
But if you do have any questions or concerns or whatever, please do not hesistate to PM any of the Admins and/or Mods, I'm sure they will be more than happy to help you out. :P
