Today I was playing with my plastic cards in the shower, flourishing to be more precise. And I noticed that cardistry is even more beautiful when done under water because of the drops splashing onto the cards. I was wondering if anyone would be interested in making a cardistry video with your hands under running water. I would be very interested in the outcome. I will try to make one as soon as possible, but I doubt my camera will be able to capture the drops of water.
Good luck!

O my, now you got me picturing you in the shower... :-[ ::)
Haha but that sounds pretty cool, I may have to try it tommorow morning.
-
???
Nathan, why are you playing in the shower?
:o
And more importantly, why are you advertising it to the world?
:(
I don't imagine for a second that it improved your fans one bit... And I think the cards would stick together too much for a faro shuffle...
-
You know what would be epic? Flourishing 'Underwater' maybe in a pool.

Tossing and catching a card would be a bit, well - different. It wouldn't go far but it would have an incredible hang time, especially if you used the cheaper, lighter plastic cards, like the black and gold Vegas decks.

Well my prestige cards don't...

That would be cool but it would be kinda hard to move the packets around. :P

I just tried it with a bucket!
Cuts are great. No falling or sliding cards. But thats it. Although moves with twirls (eg. Pandora) are hard.
Try to spring the cards underwater though. Its hilarious if nothing else.

I will try it as soon as I can. The thing when you are underwater rather than when you have your hands in a bucket is that your arms are also submerged and I thought that maybe that makes cardistry even harder. Idk rly.
-
Now I want to rent a pool and do some underwater stuff. Haha I forgot to do this this morning (too tired) But I will eventually.
-
Sounds like a cool idea, but it's not. I tried it with an underwater camera. Pretty lame actually.
-
can you show us?

Ya, show us! And did you try doing cardistry under running water?
-
I actually took a spare card into the shower the other day, takes a fair time for them to warp under the water, longer then I though actually.
But I also agree, lets see how the underwater video went even if you think it's lame :P

Oh so you just used a single card? What I do is I take all the ad cards, put them together and I have more than 52 of them (I have much more open decks than 52, but I threw away many of my ad cards). I use these cards to try stuff on them. Not all have the same stock and/or finish, but it is still fun. I used them to make a test for my home-made electric deck, my home-made invisible deck, my home made stripper deck etc. And when I'm bored sometimes I just cut some into pieces or blend them. Getting back on track:
Who can show us a video?

Well, I could take a video of myself in the shower but I doubt you guys would enjoy it. I am going to go have a shower and take a regular bike with me and my Prestige deck
-
So hereis the outcome of my shower:
The regular bike is about 3x as thick as before, cards all stuck together.
The Prestige deck is drying off, didnt handle good but didnt get warped or anything.

Why did you do that though?

i tried my prestige and could not do one handed cuts but i could shuffle all right
-
You guys are all very scary... :)) Stop playing in the shower!
If you're going to to it, do it right - underwater! Submerged, not just sprinkled.

Oh, I can do all sorts of cuts all right with my prestige deck!

What the hell's wrong with playing with cards in the shower? I don't see why we can't do it if we want to! And ideally I thought it would be cool to make a cardistry video with water splashing all over the cards, but submerged would also be cool.

First of all, learn to recognize an obvious joke when you see one! If I was Gibbs, I'd be slapping you in the back of the head by now...
Second, killing time playing cards in the shower wastes water.
-
well now that my cards are dry i can use them like normal. also don love the NCIS reference and also i have a lot of soap on my body and while i rince it off i play with cards.
Some use ducks, i use cards :)

Haha, I was joking. And it does waste water, but I usually take 3 minute showers.
