So Erik Mana posted something on the Philippine Cardist Community about supporting his new project, the Verve Luxury Playing Cards. Shared it on Playing Card Community and then Nathan beat me to posting it here hahahaha! LoL good job Nathan. :P but yeah
Anyone have any thoughts on it so far?

I think it looks nice. I am really digging these type of decks lately. Just seems sleek and elegant. I know not everyone likes them but if they become availible, I will probably pay the 3,789 dollars in shipping fees to get them.
-
I think it's nice depending on the price. If it's gonna be the same price as the Mana decks then it may not be worth it. The Mana in my opinion is too difficult to beat for that price range.
-
The Mana deck I think was a bit pricey but not impossible to purchase.
But you are right I hope the price this time won't be as high as the Mana Deck

i agree the mana deck is quite pricey but what make it more expensive are the shipping fee

Damn you beat me to it! I got the same email and was just about to post it.
-
@CBJ i love you so much right now! hahahahahah! You and your infos on cards and new releases. :P hehehe
Well so the Company is Verve? the cards are called "Élan Rouge" ??
Aight thanks for clearing that one up .:P
-
I'm so grateful these are being shipped from the US. I was one of the people who needed to buy a brick of Mana's in order to make the $70 worth it.
I love the box, and the foils are exciting, and the simplicity of the back makes these seem very attractive to me.
-
I've edited the title, and you guys beat me to announcing the details. Personally I'm not a huge fan of the deck. The back design looks very nice, kinda like it has a leathery texture to it. I'm unsure about the faces. I personally don't think they go along well with the back, but we'll see once they all are finished. As for the box, I don't like the logo on it.
-
I really like the back design and box! The back design is simple, a rich color, and has a cool texture to it that looks like the front of my shoes.
The box is really cool and I love the colors.
The faces are just alright... I don't like them too much.
It sounds like the handling will be great because Bee stock and magic finish is one of my favorite combos.
I'm excited to see how these turn out!

Mana playing cards posted at their facebook page
Pre-orders for the Verve deck is coming soon! Visit the Legerdemain website for more information...

"Pre-Orders...
Pre-orders are just around the corner!
On June 22 we will open our doors for everyone to take advantage of the special pre-order packages that we've created. The prices are below retail prices, so make sure you don't miss out.
Much like Kickstarter, our packages are in limited quantities. You can choose any package you want and even combine packages. We offer both retail and wholesale packages for everyone's needs.
According to USPCC, the Verve deck is next in line for printing which means it will be in our hands in less than a month (barring no delays from USPCC of course).
So make sure you mark your calendars for June 22. We look forward to seeing you here! "- thelegerdemain.net
I really love the look of this deck.. especially the back design. It really does look luxurious. I'll definitely be picking some up at the pre-order.

The Élan Rouge Edition
'Verve' by definition is to have vigor, spirit or enthusiasm. We feel our simple yet sophisticated design subtly exemplifies such feeling without being too flashy and outspoken.
We've decided to step away from the typical ornamental designs and took on a different theme, feel and flair altogether. The inspiration behind the design was to create a luxurious deck of playing cards fit for any high stakes or high society card game.
The deck is printed on the highest quality card stock that USPCC can offer - Bee casino quality card stock with high embossed magic finish. There are no magic reveals on the tuck box and no gaffed cards, except for a single blank card and a subtle one-way back design. The Tuck box is also embossed with foil printing for that added touch of superior quality and elegance.
The Verve series already has two follow up colors in the pipeline. This limited first edition starts with Élan Rouge, printed in a deep plush red. The faces are printed with three metallic inks with custom court cards, aces and jokers.
We're very excited for this series of decks, because we believe this is one of those collections that epitomizes pure elegance and class. It truly belongs in the hands of the discriminating collector. And for those magicians and cardists who wish to enhance their image and style, the Verve series will definitely add that touch of prestige.
-
Custom court cards printed in metallic ink? Seems to me like I definitely can't miss the pre-order window.. I'm curious to see what packages are they offering though.
-
I'm interested in the deck, to be sure. But it would be nice to know a price - and for that matter what TIME on Friday the store will open.
-

The shipping price of the deck might also be extremely outrageous

Don't quote me on this but I think I remember them saying that these would be shipping from the U.S.

Yes, I believe they said that somewhere on their facebook page.

wow that will be good for the people in the US .. but for people living far away from US .. haiz i think the shipping price will be roughly same as previous times
-
i doubt that we will pay the same high shipping prices as we had to for the manas.i paid for 6 decks shipping 47USD shipping.
this passion is quiet expansive if you are from outside the USA.
-
Woah! Will they sell through HOPC?

These are going to be available at HOPC! i'm really digging what there doing over there. Does this mean that they're already printed and ready to be shipped?

I think so. I think Erik Mana is taking advantage of the "Submit Your Deck" Program to print his deck easily.
-
I think it's a smart move if they do sell on HOPC. Although I didn't get the NOC or Americana deck from them, I could still see HOPC turning out to be a good place to be going to for custom playing cards with small/limited print runs in the future.
-
(sigh) Secrets don't last as long as they used to...
I was at TBC/HOPC today shooting some test video. Yes, they will carry them. No, they're not shipping yet - pre-orders only for now.
They are NOT a result of the "Submit Your Deck" program.
Anything more, you need to get from Alex or Kevin.
I was told only hours ago to keep this under my hat, and now it's all over the Verve site!
-
I am really loving HOPC! It was a very nice suprise to see that the Verve deck will be sold through HOPC.
I'll definitely be picking up a few of these.
-
apparently these already have a price 40 Ringgits or 12 US bux
https://www.facebook.com/asiamagicshop (https://www.facebook.com/asiamagicshop) scroll down and you'll see verve
-
they're for pre-order as of now. The reason it's already posted on the asiamagicshop is becaus they have the offer if you buy up to 350 MYR worth of product, you'll get an Ultragaff deck.
We're probably better off waiting for the actual release itself on HOPC or the Verve website. I'm not sure if the price has been set but I'd say it's around 6-8 USD per deck.

Agreed with 5000 decks made $12 per deck is quite pricey well for me it is
-
The following is the pricing for the Verve Playing Cards:
MSRP (Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price):
1-2 decks = $9.95 per deck
3-5 decks = 5% off
6 - 11 decks = 10% off
12 - 71 decks = 15% off
72 - 143 decks = 20% off

Hey guys! Yes, it's true that HOPC will be offering pre-orders on the the Elan Rouge deck from Verve starting TONIGHT at midnight (Thursday night into Friday morning, eastern time).
This deck is wholly a project of Verve - they designed it, are selling it, etc. HOPC has simply worked out a deal to be the exclusive US distributor of the deck.
There are only 5k decks being printed, and we only have a portion of those for our site.
The decks will be going up on the site for preorder in about 13.5 hours from this post. We expect to have them in-hand and shipping out to customers in mid-to-late July, barring any unexpected delays from USPCC.
We think this is a beautiful deck, and we're proud to be working with Verve on bringing the deck to customers. Remember, it is quite limited so your best bet to get decks is to preorder tonight. The preorder window will only last for 48 hours, or while supplies last.
-
Thanks for keeping us up to date, Reylek. It sure is very nice to have someone from a big company come here to these forums and keep us up to date! This deck looks beautiful, and I can't wait for it to come out. I have a question which I don't know if you can answer, but, if you only have a portion of the 5k printed, where are the other ones? Without a doubt Erik Mana will have some for himself, but do companies like Asia Magic Shop also have some of the 5k or do they own some in your portion?
Thx!
-
There are 5k total for the world. HOPC is selling the ones we have only to retail customers. If other shops outside the US are also selling them, then that means that they have also arranged for a supply from Verve. Aside from the ones we have "Dibs" on, I really couldn't tell you where any of the others have gone.
If folks would like to buy them from HOPC, I would highly recommend being there at midnight tonight when the page goes live. These are beautiful and we expect them to go fast!

Link doesn't work now >:(
It did a while ago. Well, just have to wait for another hour till the actual pre-order starts. The decks were priced at $9.90 just now with the first discount at a brick with 10% ($9 per deck).
-
Hey guys. While we admire people's ingenuity and curiosity, be careful when using any links you may find before we officially launch. This goes for any product.
We sometimes make our pages go live for testing very briefly before launch. This is just to make sure everything is working properly.
These windows are very brief, and they may be disabled while you're in the middle of checkout, your order may not go through, etc. We would also appreciate if links not be shared on public forums before the product is actually live. The more people who hit the page while we're still making last-minute tweaks, the more could go wrong in the process.
For the lucky one or 2 people who got in early - if you received an email receipt/confirmation, your order did indeed go through and you are safe, no need to re-order when we launch in about 45 minutes.
For everyone else, the wait will soon be over!

Yeah, not sure how many HOPC had in the first place.. Anyone has any info on this? I know they're the exclusive distributor in US for this deck but I don't know how many decks were allocated for them.

I don't know how many they started with, but I do know this: as of now, less than 900 remain! This deck won't last - might not even make it to retail; totally sold out by pre-order.
-
They do look amazing. I really want to know how these feel. They can't arrive to soon. I love the little holes in the box. Just incredible...
-
The deck looks beautiful. I'm not sure how long the deck will take to be printed and shipped (since this is only pre-order), but it seems worth the wait. I will wait for resellers to buy it though.
-
Normally mid-july or something like that, they should be ready to ship... That's what I heard I think
-
I love the look of these. They're simple, luxurious, and my favorite color is red!
I can't wait to receive them.
-

The tuck box art is meant to simulate the appearance of fine leather from a luxury car. You do know that those "holes" are just dots of black ink, right?
As of right now, less than 700 decks remain at HOPC.
-
Well, it's darn well simluated :D
-
I got an email saying that there are only about 500 decks left.
-
Have to say it is elegant looking. Does anyone have better quality pictures of the faces? I'm very curious to see them, although I fear they will be standard like the Mana's faces.
-
With this deck selling as fast as it is, I went ahead and placed another order for a few more decks. Just want to make sure I have enough before they sell out. Cant wait to see this deck and tuck box in person. And yes Don, it reminds me of leather too from the bucket seats of an exotic sports car. 8)
-
This really wants to just make you touch this deck. I hope I won't be dissapointed

Not entirely standard... Check this out: http://52cartes.files.wordpress.com/2012/05/verve-face.jpg?w=614&h=248

Looks like the Verve decks are on their way out. Got a shipping notice from HOPC today that it was sent today. Probably looking at Monday delivery (though it could be Saturday depending how fast USPS wants to work)
-
I got a shipping confirmation too! I'm really looking forward to seeing these in person.
-
Unfortunately I didn't pick these up yet. However I will be more than happy to trade or buy these in the after sale. The leather effect rendered seems very smooth and nice looking, and I think it's one of the first decks to be like this.
-
I received mine today and they're really beautiful! Their name is very fitting.
Review coming soon.

Evan - I'm thinking that just like how we don't want people promoting deck sales in the PCP since we have a separate forum for that, you shouldn't really be pushing your reviews here either. We have a whole forum dedicated to them now - blow your horn there all you want about your reviews.
-
Just saw these on Ebay for $40! Are they really worth that much? I don't believe they are.
-
Just saw these on Ebay for $40! Are they really worth that much? I don't believe they are.
I've said this before - and always hope I'll never have to say it again, but here we are...
A deck - any deck - is worth exactly as much as someone is willing to pay for it at a given moment in time. Nothing more, nothing less.
By the way, WHICH eBay are you looking at? 'Cause I just checked eBay.com, and they have three listings - two "buy it nows" for $14.95 each and an auction starting at $25 with zero bids and six days left.

It was up there for $40
It was one of Lazarus's decks, he always puts things up really high (fishing for idiots) and then lowers it after a day or 2. He has it up for $20 right now http://www.ebay.com/itm/Verve-Playing-Cards-By-HOPC-/221095529644?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item337a520cac#ht_500wt_1365 (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Verve-Playing-Cards-By-HOPC-/221095529644?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item337a520cac#ht_500wt_1365)
Actually I am pretty impressed with the picture he took of the front he captured the metal foil well

Actually I am pretty impressed with the picture he took of the front he captured the metal foil well
You called that right - it's really effing hard to get the metallics to show, especially when it's metallic ink on a card, but this box would have been nearly as difficult, I think. The photos themselves aren't gorgeous (the lighting does look a little odd), but it was probably a necessary tradeoff to get the foil to show, which it does.
