The box looks pretty sleek.
As sleek as a brick of mud with a skull stamped on it...

This is... Interesting. I'm sure that they won't go down the road of Big Blind Media they're too professional for that...
But skulls from conjuring arts? It's new but I'm sure it's got a back story from way back in magic history.

THIS deck, from CARC? Something doesn't seem right lol
Maybe the cards are completely different from the box?

I doubt it. After De'vo, I don't know if people would fall for it again.

I'm not sure, but I could've sworn I have seen a similar skull before. But according to this website, it kinda looks like a squirrel skull.

Those are not squirrel teeth. :P

It looks like someone either doesn't know how to draw human skulls, or it's a deck based around some early human ancestor, though I have never seen early humanoid skulls like that. Usually they have a smaller, more elongated skull, and a jaw that juts out further.

So this is just a silly sketch methinks.

Sleek or slick - this deck's box is neither!  +1 for Moon!  So far, that's the most accurate description of this box.

Guys - this looks like what it appears to be: a simple, hand-drawn pirate's skull-and-crossbones.  This could be a pirate-themed deck (the gods help us) or meant to evoke something poisonous or otherwise toxic to humans (the second-most common use of a skull-and-crossbones).

It really really looks like soil people buy from that gardening store, shaped it into a cuboid and stamped the skull and crossbones, although I guess the box lowers your expectations of the cards inside.

It kinda looks like those old poison bottle labels, I'm gonna guess its some vintage styled deck probably with a minimalist design. Kinda 'meh' with me, I'm not a fan of skulls and 'dark' stuff on my cards.

I have this gut feeling it will be an extra deck with the purchase of a brick. Like they did with the black and silver acorns.

Either that, or they decided to change the design of the box entirely.

Well if that's the only way they can get people to buy bricks of cards, then so be it, but I'm not down anymore... They got me with the Silver Acorn, which was a big flop... Not that great and not much interest... What everyone is forgetting is that lightning usually doesn't strike the same place twice... It's so hard to stay relevant... There's a few companies out there that have quite a few hits under their belts, and though I'm probably good for a set, these decks are really mediocre...

Wow... Now that's enticing... Without contradicting my other post, I will state that upon further examination, I have grown quite fond of the look of the deck...I like the simplicity of the skull & cross bones... Bicycle branded Skull & Cross Bones... Very Cool... It just pains me to no end that they are forcing people to purchase an entire brick of one style in order to get the limited deck... I would respect them just a little bit more if they would allow the purchase of a mixed brick of the skull & bones decks in order to get the limited deck...

Well, at least it's better than I expected. They said they printed this deck from a vintage design, so who can blame them. Surprisingly, I might be picking up one of each color by next week. :D

Members only. Now available. Come in black, red, blood red and blood black.

Correction: Only three colors exist: Red, Black, and a hybrid of the two, possibly Maroon.

Anyway i doubt it will remain members for very long, maybe for a week or 2.

They are only going to be exclusive for one week. After that, they'll be available to us...unless they sell out...which I doubt.

And here are the links for anyone who needs them:

Professional Bicycle: Skull & Bones:

Professional Bicycle: Skull & Bones (Special Edition):
http://www.tannens.com/shop//cart.php?m=product_detail&p=9641

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
No idea if they already have them or if they are pre-order, but chances are, they're pre-order. I'll see if they sell out on CARC before I snag one of these though.

P.S. - I was correct about the Maroon coloring (Pictures of an uncut are in the website), except each Special Deck comes with varying shades of the Red and Black Hybrid. In case you don't follow, according to Tannen, there'll be lighter shades of Maroon (almost red)...fading off to standard Maroon...the finishing at Dark Maroon (almost brown).

But it looks awesome! - Perhaps we appreciate it better because it's from CARC, a company not known for simply recolored cards. There's just something in this deck that I never pictured liking, but, in the end, I did.

Not known for recoloringcards.

Acorn series
Green acorn v1, red acorn, green acorn v2, black acorn.

Smithback series:
Black, Red, Blue #2
Unless those all don't count i believe CARC has the most recoloring out of anyone.

I agree with John - though I also acknowledge that their decks are generally pretty top notch.  KPop - how you could possibly say they not known for simple recolorings is beyond me, unless you truly are legally blind.

JMRock: I didn't think the black/silver Acorns were a flop.  They were quite unique, in fact - it was the first CARC deck to use Magic Finish due to the metallic inks.  As such, the Ivory version is also the first smooth-surface Magic Finish deck.  I think it handles really nicely.  The bonus deck, I have no idea - I wasn't down with buying a brick.

That might be because many people have given up even trying to keep pace with the color changes...  KPop, some advice: that hole you're digging is getting too deep to climb out of - so stop digging already!

I think Tannen's, unlike CARC, is allowing mixed-brick purchases to get the bonus deck.  Why buy the deck when you can get it free with 3 decks of each standard version of the deck?  Many people buy that much anyway, right?

I believe you do have to buy a whole brick of one color to get the deck from Tannen's
I was not offered a free deck when I ordered 3 of each.
Of course when I ordered they were offering the deck for $19.95 instead of $34.99 as now.
I ended up picking up 2 red and 2 black ivory and just paid the $19.95 for the special edition.
These are for the colection so I didn't need a whole brick.
