Concept - awesome.
Courts - love them, though not right away. They grow on you.
Altered Maiden Back design - :)) absolutely stunning and an excellent choice.
The "ace/bowtie" logo - that hasn't quite grown on me just yet...
...but I still want this deck.
-
I like this deck. It sticks to the card styles how we know them but adds some customization.
-
I seem to be the only one on any of the forums who doesn't like this deck.
I suppose that is good for the creator, maybe it will get funded in this glut of kickstarter decks
To me this deck seems unfinished. All the art looks like early concept art that didn't have the details put in for the finished deck.
I don't know I guess when I think black tie I see something less cartoony and something a bit more sophisticated.

Hello all, we are the creators of the Bicycle Black Tie deck and we are very happy to see some of the feedback already.
Utterfool, i applaude the enthusiasm you show by uploading your thoughts on more than one forum. As we said previously, we are aiming for a classic look, not an over the top look on this deck. We understand that you may not favor our style of deck but we hope it may grow on you as it did Mr. Boyer. We look forward to seeing your name on our backer list ;)
We intend to create a deck that is seamless with that which we grow up with. A deck you can not only use for magic or framing but also at the friday night poker game. We aim to please and hope we do. Mr. Boyer, im sure that Ace will grow on you ;)
Keep spreading the word, the more people that know the more chance we all get to hold this deck in our hands! Thanks to all!

I think it's a neat idea. The court card look alright IMO but the AoS and Box really look bad. The AoS looks more like a bat than a bowtie spade...
-
I think it's pretty neat.

I think I have to go with Evan on this one. It does remind me more of a bat. Perhaps if the center knot was higher it would look less bat-like. Another option would be showing the bowtie under the collar of a tuxedo shirt. Not as much winglike, much more spade-shaped.
-
Concept is quite good. I Believe it needs some tweaking though.

Hey guys, we're appreciating the feedback and checking almost hourly :/ we are giving everything we hear a lot of thought but that's all i am going to disclose right now. Max Playing Cards posted us up along with 52cartes.

Hey guys, just put up a new update. The subject of the update was the new add-on opportunity, a King design revealed and we addressed some of the comments and concerns surrounding our back design. Go check it out, thanks!
-
I may be way off here, but at first glance when I had seen the bow tie it instantly reminded me of the Ace of Spades from the Artifice deck.
-
Hey Knobz,
After designing the AoS we actually took a step back and said the points on top resembled an ace we have seen before. We searched through our ellusionist collection and saw the artifice. The points on the top of the bow tie/spade do resemble artifice a little. That might be what you're seeing too Knobz.

Yup, it sure is. Glad I'm not the only one that noticed that.

I like this deck alot, and am a backer.
Now we need a black-tie event to launch ... Maybe at "21" in New York?

Jorge Alvarez, a.k.a. Stay Classy Cards, posted this update to his project yesterday:
Hey guys, a few things to talk about quickly... As you can see the funding was "successful." HOWEVER, in reality this has happened in part because of one accidental pledge by one backer that is unable to pay the amount they pledged. What does this mean for us? Well as of now the actual funding we received is not enough to produce the deck, all of the add-ons, and ship all of it. We are working to make something happen, even put more money up ourselves to make this happen for all of our backers. There are a number of possible outcomes: 1) we are able to gather enough funding and you receive your rewards none the wiser... 2) we are able to gather some funding but not enough, this may lead to a compromise where we produce the deck and ship it but are not able to produce the add-ons. We would ultimately send you the value of the add-ons you ordered in playing card decks. 3) the last and most unfortunate possibility is we end up refunding all of your pledges... If it comes to this we will make absolutely sure everyone gets the refund they deserve... As we know more we will update you accordingly, please be patient as I have STILL not gotten back power... I hope to gather the funding to make this a reality for everyone! Thank you everyone for the support we have already received!
Folks (and fellow investors), keep your fingers crossed on this one.

It's happened yet again.

It's happened yet again.
This happened to you? Or do you know of other stories?
I know Alex lost a big backer or two for the Vortex deck, but that project was enough into the black that it only cost him putting metallic ink on the cards, something he eventually decided against anyway.
-
I can't understand why anyone would back out of a Kickstarter pledge. For the most part, pledge amounts are very reasonable, particularly for what you're getting.
I backed this deck, and hope it gets done.

I noticed a massive spike in last-minute funding - it appears that the person placing the pledge somehow screwed up the amount, probably along the lines of a badly misplaced decimal or something.

Not me, I'm referring to Genesis. Which caused a lot of issues which them as we'll.

We're launching this project for just 10 days to make up for the last project that was "successful" but had a pledge error.
