Nothing says poker like cards with...proverbs?

The more Christian/Catholic-minded on KS will probably get a kick out of these.  But the question is, are there enough such folks on KS in the first place?

I find the idea interesting. I would not use these for poker but more if I was trying to help kids memorize bible verses. Using proverbs is interesting. I most likely will not pledge though.

Funny you should mention that.  The Parker Brothers card game Rook was actually created by a religious man who wanted a card game for his children but of a different design than those used for gambling - a more wholesome deck.  A novelty deck like that today would be hitting the market with two strikes against it.

So I'm guessing using the standard 52-card Anglo-American format was adequate to this man's needs, especially since there are far more non-gambling games than ones directly involving wagering.  I would guess he's a Mormon, seeing as how he wants to get the deck translated into other languages and distributed to missionaries for redistribution to the people to whom they're proselytizing.  At a minimum, he's a member of some kind of Christian sect that does missionary work.
