Nice little project - but not SEVENTY GRAND nice. Even if it is Canadian dollars, that's a lot! :))
Actually, last time I visited about seventeen months back, the CAD was stronger than the USD. Not by a lot, but you could notice it. And with the Federal Government being near default, soon enough those USDs will make for very nice toilet paper...

It's hard for me to understand the $70,000 goal. You can get a nice mid grade laser for $10,000 or less, and a mid grade CNC for about the same. That would put this project at $30-35,000. If your going to buy top of the line machinery, and spend $60,000+. I think it would be insane to think the tools could be paid for with 1 project.
I think even the mid grade would be hard to pay for with 1 job.

Looks like they are getting the cards from here: http://www.bicyclepersonalizedcards.com (http://www.bicyclepersonalizedcards.com)
It's not even a Bicycle Branded Deck and Bicycle is charging them $16.76 per deck for quantities of (100-500) Looks like they are taking a hit by charging $15 per deck in their reward...

That site doesn't have the custom proportioned and monochrome face cards that they have on the KS site, are you sure that's where they are getting them from? Where did you find that detail? I'm sure they wouldn't want to lose $1.76 per deck, wouldn't they just set the price higher?

I'm on quite a few facebook KS communities and I can tell you, the first mistake of a KS project, is lack of previous backing on other projects, people want to know you've been through the process and are part of the community. The second is,asking for 70k, when a quick search for other card projects shows most have a goal of 7k to 16k, shows not only a lack of research, but will make people leery of pledging. Honestly to me, it screams "scam" to me whether that was the intent or not. The video is pretty terrible, theres no facebook pages, no website, a generic gmail account to contact the creator, the last 2 pledge goals are vague at worst, and the boxes, honestly, you can get handmade for $20 at any high school carpentry shop class, and they'll engrave it for you so it looks "laser" engraved for an extra $5. I realize that might be overly harsh, but this is just terrible.
