Title: Crimson Arrow by the Kings Wild Project
Post by: John B. on May 19, 2014, 10:22:24 AM
Kingswild just shared this photo on facebook with this message.

Inspird by one of my favorite backs, KEM Arrows this is a new back design I'm developing. #crimsonarrow #kingswildproject

looks like another project is on its way.

It's an interesting design that reminds me of a few different decks but KingsWild need to put everything on hold and get the blue gold turtle back Tally's released before anything else.

Damn. Jackson has got such an eye for designing. Is it as intense in details as the Fed52 or Sherlock decks? Nope, but it's gorgeous just the same. I guess I'll have to grab one of these for the shelf as well.

Ditto. Really waiting for the release on that one.

I'm actually feeling meh for this...(probably gonna get bombarded for this) When Fed 52 came out, currency wasn't my thing, but i appreciate the good detailing and design.

This, based on just the back, is not a bad design by any means, but not a must get for me either. I shall wait for courts and tuck before i comment more, but i doubt it will be highly exciting.

Would someone remind him that "scarlet" only has one "T" in it?  :))

You named it after her rather than the color?  Interesting!

Well in THOSE cases, it was a bit more clear that it was a dedication to a person rather than to a color.  Personally, I'm not on speaking terms with many colors, though I do see purple, chartreuse and burnt sienna at the bar from time to time and buy them a round...  :))

Design is nice. This whole thing reminds me of that guy Don had a little scuffle with a few weeks back. He named his deck Sophia Rae after his daughter too.

Totally different case - we all commented about how that deck bore too many resemblances to something that Dan and Dave might put out, and he commented about how all the design elements he put in the deck had meaning for him and his daughter, but refused to tell anyone else what that was.  That deck has about 51.5 hours left on the project and is about 75% shy of the goal...  But at least they know what it means, right?  :))

Anyway, I digress.  This is a nice-looking variant on the KEM Arrows.  The question on everyone's minds I'm sure is: paper or plastic?

I agree they are completely different. Just reminded me of that situation simply bc of how both decks were named.

There aren't enough custom plastic decks. Would be nice to see something like that.

I like them, everything except the dots in the corners. They seem a little detached from the rest of the back design to me. Maybe it is something for all the flourishers, I imagine they'd look good in a fan. Awesome box, though, with that star thing.

There aren't enough custom plastic decks. Would be nice to see something like that.

That's probably because they're prohibitively expensive.  The Karnival Death Heads Armour Edition runs about $20 a pack.  And they're not "Kem-style" - they were made at the Fournier plant in Spain with the same process and plastic used for the Bicycle Prestige decks.

I kinda like the Bike Prestige.  Too bad the box sucks hard.  Very impractical.  And the Death Heads, too - they had a flimsy gray cardboard box that was practically guaranteed to not outlast the deck.
