Thanks for all of the support and all of the great feedback! Thanks for helping with my deck!

I actually really like the normal non limited editions better. I think it is because I love the colors that you used on those.
-
Since Justin appears to have been a little excited, he left out the Design/Dev link, where you can see the evolution of this deck from idea to KS project.

Quick question. On the limited edition will the metallic yellow ink be trapped or over printed on flooded black?

Quick question. On the limited edition will the metallic yellow ink be trapped or over printed on flooded black?
Hey Jackson, good question. The metallic ink will be trapped. If they are not trapped the ink will become muddy, so definitely the metallic ink will be trapped.
-
I have had some request to display the whole card image. Here is the Court Cards for the Clubs! 2nd Early Bird has been added! Please keep spreading the word!
Thank you very much!
-
Here are the Diamond Court Cards!

Dang it! I am so sorry I missed the KS page and even more bummed that the goal wasn't reached. Are there any plans to try again? I'm telling you, I would buy the "Coat of Arms" deck right now.
I also bet they would've been big hits at renaissance festivals. Too bad it takes so much just to get decks printed, before you can even put them out there.

I'd be shocked if you didn't find it for sale in the after-market, at slightly higher prices.

Thanks for your support of the deck. I am going to relaunch in August sometime. Working on a few things to get the goal lower. It appears most people like both decks so I am trying everything I can to launch both decks again at once. I will keep everyone posted on the re launch date.
Thanks,
-
Hey Everyone,
Great news! The relaunch of the Coat of Arms and Dark Ages Deck will be launched within the next few weeks. I am excited to announce that I will be adding some early early early bird specials for the relaunch. One of the early birds will be: Buy the Dark Ages Limited Edition Deck at a discounted price and get a Coat of Arms Deck for free. I am offering these limited early bird specials as a relaunch special. You will be hearing from me soon!
Thank you very much for your continued support!

You have my support! I especially like the colors and style of the standard deck and need at least a couple. I guess I just missed the first time around probably because of moving.
-
Great thanks for the Support and I am glad you like them!
-
Hey Everyone!
Great news!! The Coat of Arms and Dark Ages Decks will be released this Tuesday, August 26th! I will post again to let everyone know once the launch has occurred so you can take advantage of the early birds.
Here is some exciting news about the relaunch:
-I decided to go with EPCC on this run so I could offer both decks at once and lower the Goal. EPCC has a 1,000 per deck min order which allows me to lower the project goal.
-The Project Goal will be only $16,000 for both decks. (**We reached over $13,000 on the first launch)
-The Dark Ages Deck is Limited with only 1,000 Decks to be sold. (Act fast the Dark Ages Deck was the most pledged for deck)
-The Dark Ages will be sold at a reduced price.
I want to say thank you to all of my supporters and backers. Your support has been phenomenal! I have received so many emails and great messages. Lets start the relaunch out with a bang! With your pledges and help spreading the word I know the relaunch will be successful.
Thank you all very much. I really appreciate all of the support!
Thanks,
Justin

Gah, I was just slightly too slow to grab the early bird at the $15 tier. So I just went with the first early bird for the normal deck.
-
Justin,
Congrats on the re-launch! I'm curious though, since the deck will be printed by EPCC, won't the uncut sheet only have 54 cards? The photos of the uncut sheets have 56. Please correct me if I'm wrong!

I check with them and they can print the extra cards but it will cost more money per deck so I set the extra cards at a stretch goal.
Goal $17,000 - Poker Sets Available - 200, 300, 500
Goal $18,000 - Pick any card in any deck as a poster!
Goal $20,000 - RED Ace of Spades gaffe card will be added to the Coat of Arms Deck and a Special Card included in every Dark Ages Deck stating Limited Edition Deck only 1,000. Also will include a Jack of Clubs Gaffe Card.
-
The past day and half has been amazing! What an incredible start to the relaunch. Everyone has been so supportive and positive about the relaunch. We have hit $8,111 with 200 plus backers. We are half way to the $16,000 goal. Thanks everyone! Lets hit the goal and start working on some stretch goals! I have a few more stretch goal plans in the works that I will release once we hit the initial goal of $16,000.
As a reminder the Dark Ages Limited Edition Deck will be limited to only 1,000 decks. They have been going really fast!
Lets continue to spread the word about the project with family and friend. I cant say this enough, Thank you to all of the backers and supporters of this project! I cant do it without each and everyone of you!
Thanks,
Justin

I have some exciting news! I will be able to offer a Bicycle Branded Deck - Bronze Age as a stretch goal! ONLY 1,500 will be sold! Here is a sneak peak at the Bicycle Bronze Age Deck! I really like this recolor on the card faces, I prefer it over the black edition. Would be nice to see the full card back though. Going to be a little rough hitting that stretch given the design of the campaign. I am very hopeful it happens. Any projection on how many I can add if you hit the stretch?
Aren't these printed by EPCC or am I confused?

There's no way on Earth EPCC will be printing Bicycle-branded decks unless Hell freezes over first.
The Bicycle decks MUST be a USPC print job. The unbranded decks could be any printer, but judging from what's been said, I'm inclined to think he's planned on using USPC all along.

Yea Don, it makes no sense at all. I was pretty sure he stated he'll have them printed by EPCC on his kickstarter page. Just checked and yea it clearly states in big bold letters "Custom deck of playing cards inspired by Coat of Arms. Featuring Coat of Arms Deck and Dark Ages Special Edition Decks printed by EPCC." I don't understand why have two decks printed by EPCC then the third printed by USPCC, if that's the case. I was in the middle of a break earlier during a poker game didn't have much time to post clearly haha.
Justin, would you mind clarifying what you have planned? At the moment this is about as a clear as mud.

Hey Guys, Sorry for any confusion. Coat of Arms and Dark Ages Deck will be printed by EPCC and if I hit my stretch goal the bronze deck will be printed by USPCC with the Bicycle Brand. Hope this helps and if you have any other questions please let me know. Glad you like the bronze deck as well!
Fes - I am having the main two cards printed by EPCC because they are an excellent manufacture will a high quality product and excellent tuck cases and the min order of each deck can be 1,000. With the min order lower I was able to lower my campaign goal and lower the price on my dark ages deck. I know there are some people that would like a Bicycle deck printed by USPCC and I have had some request so as a stretch goal I will be able to offer the Bicycle Bronze deck!
-
Ahh okay, thanks Justin that helps. I know there are a lot of people who don't care for one or the other. I'm pretty easy, I like USPCC and I like EPCC LPCC too they all make great decks.
With USPCC minimal order being 2.5k seems like a lot of waste just to get a bicycle branded deck out, when you've said 1.5k for sale on the bronze. That's an interesting and expensive decision to make. What will you be doing with the remaining decks? I think it's safe to assume the vast majority of them will make it through shipping without damage.
-
Hey Fes, Here is the back design as you request!
-
Thanks for the image Justin. Really like the recolor a lot. I think they're going to be impressive on the table. :)

Yes, there is a price discount for multiple decks on the Add On Pricing for both the Bronze Age Deck and The Coat of Arms Deck.
Thanks for all of the support!

Here is one of my favorite cards from the deck!
-
I had a few questions on how I was able to offer my Bicycle Branded Bronze Age Deck at such a low goal. Well since it is official I can talk about it!
Bicycle is printing 1,000 deck runs!
I was asked not to say anything until it was official and I just got the word I can let it be known that Bicycle is printing 1,000 deck runs.
that is the explanation on how I can offer the Bicycle Branded Deck at a low Goal!
Go pledge for your decks now! Only 11 days left! Thanks for all of the support!
Thanks to all of your support the other exciting news it I hit my goal on Kickstarter! The decks will be printed!
I cant say it enough thanks for everyone's support!

I can vouch for this. Now does EPCC and MPC have an edge? Think about it.
-
It's great to see the deck unlocked Justin and congratulations on reaching funding. That's my favorite of the three deck colors. Also very interesting news you've brought us from USPCC. 1,000 deck print run is something to talk about. :)
I was wondering if the Bronze Age deck tuck will have any foil or embossing on it.

I am glad you like the Bronze Deck and I am excited to have been able to unlock it! With the Bronze Age Deck I would like to add some special features to the deck but I will have to see where we end up on the funding total, if there is room in the budget I will make the deck as cool as possible! :)
Thanks for your support!

I've spoken with some people about this. The primary reason they're doing the shorter runs is that they want to be competitive with EPCC and LPCC. MPC is still not there yet on the quality, at least not that I've seen - which admittedly is very little. The consensus I've heard is that they're great for prototyping but the quality's not on par with these other publishers.

My Update I posted on Kickstarter
Hey Everyone! This has been a great week! Along with surpassing the goal we released the Bicycle Brand Bronze Age Deck! And NOW ,since we hit $17,000, we have unlocked the Poker Chip Sets Stretch goal!
That's right, the poker chip sets have been unlocked!
Below is a longer update than usual but I have lots of great info to share! Keep reading! :)
You can now purchase the 100, 300, or 500 ceramic poker chip set. The chips come in a unique, hand crafted wooden box engraved with the Coat of Arms Ace of Spades. The poker chips sets also include 1 Coat of Arms Deck and 1 Bicycle Branded Bronze Age Deck. The poker chips are ceramic just like the poker chips you will find in Vegas! The poker chip sets are perfect for your home games! Imagine easily stacking your ceramic chips in front of you as you rake in that big pot! (as many poker players knows the "basic plastic chips" are hard to stack and don't feel the best when you are shuffling your chips) The poker chips colors are also inspired by the "standard Vegas colors". Casinos go by a standard color scheme: green chips = $25, Orange Chips = $50, Black Chips = $100, Purple Chips = $500, and Yellow Chips = $1000.
Another thing I am excited to share is when you order a poker chip set you can customize which color combo you would like in increments of 20 chips per color. For example you can customize a 200 chip set : 100 green chips, 80 black chips and 20 yellow chips. Or go with my home game combo which includes chips in each color and instructions for the perfect home game. My home game blind structure and chip count is perfect for the family or for those serious home games and tournaments!
Only 8 days left in the campaign so pick up a poker set now! New poker set rewards have been added on the right of the campaign page or you can add them as an Add-On to your current reward.
Thank you very much for all of the support! I am so excited that this project is a success. Let's keep sharing and spreading the word. There is still the gaffe card stretch goal and pick a poster stretch goal left. I know we can get there with your help!
Thank you,
Justin

Hello,
I just want to address any concerns with the new development of the 1,000 run from Bicycle. Yes they informed me that they are not moving forward with the 1,000 release. That being said, They are not moving forward with any new decks until their preliminary trial is over. They are still honoring the agreement I had with them. This does not change anything for my current kickstarter project. The Bicycle Bronze Age Deck will still be printed at a minimum of 1,000.
Here is the snap shot of the email I received.
Thank you!

It's interesting that they've decided to hold back for a while. They'll get a better per-deck profit margin on a 1,000-deck print run, but for a company that size it might not be enough to keep the lights on.
One still has to do pretty much the same actions to get a 1,000-deck run or a 10,000-deck run; it's just a matter of how many times each step needs to be completed. For anything that's not directly related to putting ink on paper and decks in boxes, the costs to USPC are the same - employees still have to move paperwork, get contracts signed, create proofs, etc. All those steps that occur before a single sheet of paper enters the press all take the same amount of time (and money and labor) for a typical glitch-free print run regardless of the number of decks made.
But at the same time, while the per-deck cost goes higher for shorter runs, you can't price yourself out of the market, either, by creating a per-deck cost that destroys any reasonable profit margin the client would have. So if they can't walk that fine line, they'll simply stop trying and go back to whatever works.

Yea, and I look like an ass on this Kickstarter. I gave some misinformation. I never want to give misinformation. Did anyone pledge for this deck? Send this link. This really bothers me.

Yea, and I look like an ass on this Kickstarter. I gave some misinformation. I never want to give misinformation. Did anyone pledge for this deck? Send this link. This really bothers me.
I pledged for it, but I won't post links on KS. It's a rule I set for myself that I won't break. (I get stupid excited over the silliest nonsense, like a little kid. Me with linkies would be bad.) I'm sure no one will hold it against you that you posted the information you had at the time. Things change all the time after all. In my opinion USPCC made the correct move by not going forward, yet if at all, with their lower minimum. I think the key here is that it won't be effecting this particular campaign. As Justin has pointed out, they will be honoring their previous agreement for his KS. So no harm no foul, right? :)
-
Aw crap my bad. It was a different Kickstarter.

Aw crap my bad. It was a different Kickstarter.
It's always good to own up to one's mistakes.
Promoting other KS projects in someone's project topic is not kosher, though, even if it is only a link.
Best way to avoid giving misinformation is to be just a little slower at the trigger. I've seen TV stations and TV networks that were so quick to try scooping each other, they post old Internet memes and urban legends like breaking news. Don't be that guy.

Only 61 hours left in the campaign!

I wanted to share with everyone here my update I just sent out. I have pics of the gaff cards and ad cards I have added to the decks.
Hey Everyone!
I wanted to keep everyone up to date on the progress of the cards and the other items of the project. As posted in past updates I have received the Black Nickel Coins, poker chips and the aluminum cases. Everything looks great and everything turned out awesome!
I just received an update today on the progress of the cards. The Bicycle Tuck boxes are scheduled for print next week and the cards the first week of February. Then the cards will be shipped out to me. EPCC also is estimating in mid February, once I get more info on EPCC I will keep everyone updated. So we are looking at starting to ship out orders in mid February.
I apologize for the delay from my original shipping estimate of January. I am doing everything in my power to get the cards to me as soon as possible so I can get them out to you. I have all of my shipping materials and shipping area set up so once I get the cards I will be able to rock and roll to get you your items!
I have Exciting News!
We had a stretch goal to add gaff cards and ad cards to the decks but unfortunately we did not reach that goal. I am excited to let you know that I am adding a gaff card to each deck and each deck will include an ad card as well. I really like how the gaff cards came out and I could not see the decks printed without having them.
I am going to include some screen shots of the gaff cards and ad cards below. I hope you enjoy them! ....Side note: Don't be alarmed of how some of the Dark Ages Cards look, the color is different because of the metallic ink. When printed they will not be that shade.
Thanks again for all of the continued support! I couldn't of done this without each and everyone of you! We are getting closer! I can't wait till I start sending out the decks to all of my backers!
Sincerely,
Justin
Note for the pics:
I love the Bronze Age Deck gaff card. King of Clubs with the Ace of Spades on the shield.
Dark Ages Deck- Will include the Limited Edition Ad Card which states Limited Edition Only 1,000 Printed.
Red Ace of Spades gaff card for the Coat of Arms Deck. I thought this would be great for magic tricks that switch from the black Ace of Spades to the Red Ace of Spades.

"Bronze Age"... This sounds like the idea I had for a theory11 project that I mentioned weeks ago? Not that I'm taking credit for anything. I just find it strange the project names that show up on kickstarter after reading others and having written on this forum. The forum has inspired project creators for sure.
-
That is exciting news Justin. The card backs are really looking great too. Eagerly anticipating these. ;D
