Title: Fatboy Aztec - Zenneth Kok/Coterie1902 COMING SOON!!
Post by: Nurul on August 14, 2014, 10:46:02 AM
Just had a very insightful conversation with Zenneth Kok. This man is a genius.
He has many projects in the pipeline, some of which I have to keep on the low down. He has a few decks coming out. As you know, fatboy v3 is coming out soon, hopefully September.
This is a sneak peak of the next fatboy branded cards - AZTEC!! And it is only a small peek.
It'll be printed in Taiwan, same as the fatboy eat all day cards.

I will update as much info as I can in the coming weeks.

Keep an eye out for new topics though, there's something big coming from Zenneth and Coterie :)

Ah damn, I was hoping for the red blue inversion of the first decks back, but still count me in for one.

Just to clarify, what you see in the pic is of two different back designs. The black & purple is of the fatboy v3, as Zenneth stated, won by a majority vote.
The other design you see is of the up and coming Fatboy Aztec. I'm sure Zenneth will release more info into the near future.

Apologies for not being clear on that.

Looks although these are now available in addition to Fatboy V3's.

There is a also a promotional brick deal containing White and Black Fan Backs, limited to 40 numbers, set at $135.

For those interested in the Gold Seal New Fan Backs in white and black, there's a better deal: for every $100 you spend on other stuff, you can buy a matched pair for $25.  The black one's not impossible to find and still fairly cheap, but the white one's a tough nut to crack - due to a factory error (according to the ad copy), they made 5,000 black decks but only 1,000 white decks, making it one of the rarer modern decks out there.  It usually sells alone for $100, plus or minus.

Until Coterie has sold out their supply of white fan backs (i'm sure black takes a "little" more time...), I think it will still be fairly easy to get some off the market. I've seen Whites going at about $4-50, though it is still a decent price for a $25 deck + 1 black.

I have NEVER seen a pack of New Fan Backs in white go for $4!  Maybe AFTER it was dipped in paint thinner, but still...

Thanks for the detailed elaboration.

Actually, even Black New Fan Back is hard to get these days...

Today I have just engaged into a conversation with a friend of mine, and he talked about how much he wishes the same hand feel and durability could be duplicated.

There's no denying that they were good cards.  You were fortunate - some cards of the same time period didn't come out anywhere near as nicely, having flaws with the paper/coating causing them to stick to each other too much.  I loved both colors and always felt it was a shame that so few white decks were made.

These days, though, there are more options!  While USPC can put out a good deck, they're no longer the only game in town.

Whatever deck comes next, I'm sure to be interested.  You do a quality job putting together a playing card design.  If only my pockets were as deep as your quality is good!
