It is kind of a shame that the deck is marked.  For magicians, that's fine, but for general card players, it's terrible - I know poker players that won't touch a marked deck or one with a one-way design for fear of being accused of cheating.

It's a little silly to make such a limited-edition deck marked-only in the first place.  As a magician, I generally try using cards that my audience will easily identify with in most circumstances, which means using stuff that looks like the off-the-shelf decks my spectators would find at their local stores and have in their drawers at home for game night.  It doesn't have to be exactly like them, but close enough to it works fine.  The fact that it's a limited edition also makes it a tough deck to replace.  But for non-magicians, the only real appeal in having a marked deck is for card cheats and most serious (and honest) card players wouldn't use a deck like this in the first place, meaning he's limited his audience of customers to people who perform magic and people who are into the artwork and/or music theme enough to overlook the markings.
