D&D's fancy code has the same effect as theory11's. Just putting it out there.

I'm not really sure what you mean. I just double checked both codes - D&D's fancy426 is a 10% discount, while theory11's T11H3BA is 15%.

The new version actually works better than v1 for phones, in terms of display. For me it loads fine on my Nexus S. What phone are you using? If you're on Android, switch to the Opera browser. If you're on iPhone, Opera or Safari should be just fine.

Oh, it actually works better than v1? That's great news. I'm getting more excited about v2 with every day that passes!

Playing Card Plethora / Re: New Deck? - D&D Chinatown?
« on: January 20, 2012, 05:24:20 PM »
Wow! On Monday?
With all these independent designers around lately, I've become used to finding out about a deck, and expecting quite a few months before the release. But I just found out about this yesterday! That's what, about 5 days?
D&D need to stop releasing decks all the time. But to be honest, I'm quite likely to pick this deck up. At least the box looks pretty nice. But I guess I'll decide when I see the faces of the cards.

Also, will you guys ever make a mobile version of this site?

Yeah, I've been wondering the same thing. A mobile version would be really convenient.

The Conversation Parlor / Re: the bicycle splitspades ??

Yes, in the Svengali deck. That's kinda the whole point of the Svengali deck...
It means that if you riffle through it one way, you see all different cards, but if you riffle through it the other way, you see all different cards.
All the Bicycle Split Spades decks are trick decks.

Just a Standard Black Seal. Opened them up to see if the cards were mis-boxed... and guess what? .... Nothing special, just a standard deck. So, it's just the tear strip that was different. I believe it was 2009 on the box. Crap, Now I'll have to check again when I get home tonight. I don't think there's anything special/rare or anything about them, just another Walmart/Target oddity. And now they have boxes with Coupon Code insert cards to purchase more decks. I'll trade you a funky Walmart deck for a funky Target deck ;)

You know, that pic does seem odd/fake now that I look at it again. I just dropped it on my scanner instead of getting out the camera :)

Sorry, I really didn't mean to Hi-Jack this thread.....

Hm. Interesting. I wonder why they've put those tear strips on them? Maybe it's a separate thing to the Anniversary decks - maybe it's just celebrating the actual Anniversary? Although it's a bit late now... I honestly don't know what they're doing.
I wish I lived in the USA so that I could find these funky decks from stores in real life. Instead, I have to find about them second hand from you guys, and if I really want to buy them, I have to pay the inflated prices! Ah, the downsides of living in the UK. :P
Just to clear it up, I don't dislike hearing about these things from you guys. It's really very helpful! ;)

Back on topic, though, I really would like to get some of these 'new 807' decks. Anyone willing to pick up a couple for me and sell them at the price they bought them?

Awesome, I can't wait to see them.

O:
A wild description appeared!? I've never seen them in these parts before...

Lushbob, do you have an old deck or a new deck of 1800s, a while back they changed them a little bit, with that change came a bit of a color change too.

Ah, yes. My decks are the old ones.
Okay, thanks for telling me. :) I might have to pick up some new ones now, and see what they look like.

I can't wait until the v2 is up! All these teasers are making me so jealous!  ;D
Can anyone tell me my fame? :P

Personally, I actually like the fact that they've gone off-colour, I think there's a charm to it.  What's the point in a vintage deck that looks brand new?

Haha, that's true!
And about the 1800 decks, mine aren't yellow at all. They've got the old-effect colouring on them, sure. But they're not yellow...

This makes me want to go to Las Vegas so much! Unfortunately though, I have yet to get a job. And I'm guessing the vast majority of any money I have will be going towards my accomodation in Sydney for Uni.
But in like 5 or 6 years, after Uni, I'll be sure to go! Mind you, I doubt they'd have any Ohio decks left by then...
Oh, well. :P

Playing Card Plethora / Re: Post Your Collection of Signed Cards Here!
« on: January 19, 2012, 06:14:10 PM »
Wow - that's an impressive collection of signed cards. Do you just ask for them? And have you had to pay anything for any of them?

I currently own a shameful zero signed cards. But my order from David Blaine is going to include one, I should be getting one from Lee Asher soon in the mail, and I hope to get one in my next D&D order. I'm trying to make a deck of signed cards.

Ahh Lushbob, you must be a collector, do you perform magic?

Haha, you got it - I'm primarily a collector. I do enjoy performing magic and I love cardistry, but I don't perform it publicly. Or really, to anyone besides friends and family.
It's also difficult because I'm so careful with decks that I don't want to wear them out with magic and cardistry, so I end up using Bees, Tallys or Bicycles. I'm not complaining - they're still nice decks, regardless of their 'standard' nature. But I'd love to be able to get some custom decks to wear out.
In fact, I might be ordering a brick of Emerald Artifice soon, so I'll be able to wear out a couple of them. :)

While I think this is a nice idea, I agree with what Chin said - most collectors would prefer stands that display multiple decks.
But hey, depending on the price, I might pick up a couple to display my favourite decks!

Welcome to the Discourse!
"Cards are my new addiction" - I can totally relate to you. xD I'm fully obsessed with them at the moment. I'm hoping it will wear off soon, and I'll go back to being just a casual card collector.

Nice collection!
I've seen those Jerry's before, but never got round to buying them. Although I probably will in a few days, once my exams are over and I can roam the internet freely again.

Refusing to print a deck? That's ludicrous.
I think the USPCC's just being stupid here. It's sure to raise a few heated discussions. :P

i took a nail file to the sharp point, everything is fine now!!!

That's good to hear! :)

The main reason why I don't use card clips is because I like to keep my decks in mint condition - obviously clips protect the deck more, but from what I've heard, they can damage it pretty badly too. And a lot of the decks in my collection are embossed - another thing that card clips would ruin.
Either way, I usually keep my decks at home. There's no need for me to get a card clip!

Playing Card Plethora / Re: My Flea Market find!
« on: January 19, 2012, 03:13:13 PM »
If only we had flea markets in the UK...
Although, it's not likely that there would even be any USPCC decks at all. Heck, they'd all just be rubbishy plastic coated decks!
So really, let me change what I said before. I really wish I lived in the USA. :P

Playing Card Plethora / Re: Mana Deck
« on: January 19, 2012, 01:20:03 PM »
It wasn't a dumb question. I don't think they have said where they will be selling it. But I am assuming it will be on their site: http://www.manaplayingcards.com/

Oh, okay. That's what I thought, but after this long conversation, I figured someone must have asked this question before me. Or at least I figured the website may have a link to where it would be sold, or they would have announced that they would be selling it on their website or whatever. I thought it was so obvious that I was missing it, but obviously not. :P
