Same pure smoke bundle $99 on Penguin magic's "Cool Box".  These are run daily for 24 hours.  Nice magic discounts.  I've come to check this every day now.  Product changes at about 2 am eastern every night.  Phone app is available that gives you a heads up on the next days deal.  Not really holiday related but daily discounts all the same.

Eco was released in it's original, Original w/ seal and V7 Reprints
Denim was released in it's original and V7 Reprints
Rouge was released in it's original and V7 Reprints
Carbon Part of V7 Run

I'm sure others can add to this list but thats the basics

I don't generally pimp decks but I would really like to see this one funded.  Doesn't look great(3 days left) but with so many new members I thought I'd give this topic a bump.  Thanks.

The process of making the cards is what sets them apart, USPC being the widely regarded benchmark.  Ok, Im going to give you a homework assignment now.  Read the link below.  There is a ton of information in there and it should answer a lot of your basic questions.  Also use the search function to answer anything you can't find on there.  If you can't find your answers by all means come back and ask them.  Happy researching!

While I cannot speak intelligently about what cards are readily available to you in that part of the world, I can tell you this...  You should be able to find Bicycle Riderbacks or Bee playing cards somewhere over there.  They are of good quality and go to decks for magicians.  Almost anything you find made by the United States Playing Card Company will be serviceable for magic.  If this manufacturer is too hard to come by then you will just have to keep buying locally sourced product until you stumble upon something quality.

As for the free magic stuff...  Youtube is your friend!  There are tons of folks who post tutorials to basic sleights and tricks.  If you're just starting out check out MisMag822.  He has tons of tutorials for card tricks and basic sleights.  Use this as a jumping off point and he will lead you to plenty of other youtubers who provide quality instruction.  Be advised, once you get into higher level stuff you will have to pay for it.  But those videos alone should get you started.

As far as basic starter moves I would go to the internet and search the following to start with...

Double lift
False cuts
False shuffles
Spring
Fans
Color changes
Passes
I'm sure someone can add some more but that's most of what I started with.

Hope this helps.
Good luck.

If it's magic info you're after I would post on the "Magical Cardistry Bonanza" section.  I would venture to say there's more collectors than magicians here, but There are a good number of devout magic folks and almost everyone is willing to help.  That board could use some new life anyway.  Nurul is the only soldier with regular posts over there.  Have at it and welcome aboard.

Welcome, Kate.  You'll stumble across a bunch of card sites the more you look.  Most of them are on level ground.  You just have to choose who you like dealing with.  The only ones I would add to this list are...

 www.PenguinMagic.com
From my experience they have a lot of decks available (though you have to search for them), they are price very well and they ship fast.  I tend to try them first.

www.the1eyedjack.com
Jason is the owner and he has a pretty large selection, comparable pricing and is a good guy.  I reached out to him with a lot of questions when I first got started (prior to joining the forums) and he was more than helpful and willing to give me a lot of info.

Have fun and good luck!

That red one is the University of Chicago deck.  It's designed by Philip Cheaney, the same guy who did the Amazing deck.  http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/220588101/an-honest-liar-the-amazing-randi-story?ref=live

You can reach out to the U of C Magazine online and they will send you one but you will have to make a "Donation".

Now that's a really sweet-looking deck.  Nice.

Glad you like it Don.  It is a lovely deck.

So I got in on the early bird mixed brick and as I was watching the funding tick ever upward (2/3 funded in 10 minutes) I got to thinking...
Hopefully Jackson was able to negotiate a discounted price for printing into his contract.  This would be a brilliant move on his part and would make it a little more profitable for him.  Even if the discount was just enough to cover the cost of shipping it would create a little better windfall for him as a deck designer.  Hope you worked that into the negotiations JROB!

I wish, but their coparate arm doesn't have anything to do with their custom arm.  :o

Damn!

Well, kudos on Sherlock's success so far anyway.  Great work, as always.  Ho Hum, another resounding success.   ;)

What's the red deck in the Rounders photo and most important, how do I get one?  :)

But amazing haul.

Thanks.

I wonder if you'd still get the deck if you joined now.

I just sent them an email with that same question about 30 minutes ago.  I'll post their response.

Update from the creators...

"Hey guys,

We have reached the $25,000 stretch goal! This means that we'll request USPC to make a special custom finish just for our cards. The cards will feel extra smooth when you play with them, and the ink will be better sealed. The custom finish improves the performance and makes the cards last longer.

We are currently designing some exciting new rewards and we'll update you soon.

Now let's move to the next stretch goal: metallic inks!

Thank you very much,

Mike & Wayne"

So my question is will USPC even consider entertaining the notion of creating a "custom finish" for such a small time customer?  Or is this their way of saying we're using magic finish?  If the answer is the latter it seems a little underhanded to me.

By all means you should push this deck if you like it.  However there's already a topic for it.  Complete with comments directly from the designer.  I'm certain you will see your topic merged or deleted once the Mods see it.  See attached.   Thanks and welcome to the forum.

I'll keep an eye out for you but let me know if you find a good deal on PK Rings.  I'm in the market too.

So How often do failed KickStarters get picked up by another company to be produced?

Not too often.  This deck is solid, I backed it on both efforts.  Seems like Mike from Collectableplayingcards.com takes in Kickstarter decks he sees as promising that missed their goal for one reason or another.  I assume he subsidizes their decks out of pocket and sells the remainder on his site.  Seems like a good deal for all involved.  I'm sure Marci could shed more light on this subject.  I believe this is the second time Mike has done this.  The first being the Emotions deck, although I don't think he ran that through another Kickstarter campaign, just printed it and sold it on his site.  I'm not 100% sure on all this so anyone can correct anything I've said here.

Wow!  A great guy, talented magician, out in front of the card industry, and David Blaine had the honor of meeting him!   ;)

See what I did there
