From the QC shown I would think that they should be more than a simple recoloring

It seems like there is a new DM deck in the works with E as seen in revelations. There is custom courts but not really sure about the number cards.

I know the bees and tally split spades are not lions and they have slightly different backs. But we are talking about the lions right? All that i have described are about the lions. Not the other 2. And I vaguely remember reading somewhere that the lions are on tally stock as well.

That's right, Sieg. But, in this case, ak2angel is talking about the 1st edition Split Spades Lions.
yes. I am also talking about the first edition split spades aka split spades lions.

I think the first edition split spades were printed on tally Ho stock. I remember reading it somewhere. And they do indeed handle differently from bikes.

Yes. There is metallic ink on the SSS but not on the first editions. And also the AoS on the SSS does not have the superstitious/split spades ambigram. The first editions handles great. Thick and snappy stock. Very nice finish that fans well and sticks together well during cuts. I haven't break the seal of the SSS. As for which deck to buy, the above mentioned decks all handle similarly. Just refrain from the transition phase decks from E. the ghost deck that I had that wasn't on performance coating nor UV-500 was very thin and didn't last as long. Started to clump very quickly. Anything other than that u should be safe. If you are just doing flourishing I might suggest u consider a deck that looks nice and fit your style as the pretty much handle similarly(of course UV-500 decks are significantly thicker). E decks are more mysterious while the SSS is more of style and flair to me.

Great to now that. Are you guys not suppose to reveal any more pictures yet? that would hype this deck even more.

I bought a few of these, but just wanna know how the courts look like before getting them.

So a friend of mine bought me the Bicycle zombie playing cards and I realised that the backs are a pretty subtle 1 way too.

*Hint* Look at the for fingers.

Basically it says there will be a third deck in this series. And one of the reasons the first 2 became a limited edition is that USPCC was moving factories. Thus the smaller print run. This would lead me to think that these were the last few decks to be put out by the Ohio plant. Another thing this article mentions would be that this would be a trick deck. Don't know what this means exactly but the article says that this deck would bring us a few surprises in the flourishing and magic aspect. Guess we would have to wait and see.

The RED arcane deck was actually part of a prototype deck, according to Daniel Madison in his weekly webcast with Ellusionist - Revelations. He mentions it somewhere in the middle of the webcast.just before the 5 mins mark. Enjoy.

Thanks for the advices everyone :D
My friend's black tiger is uv500. It's written on the box. What is better, black tiger or white lions? And i was wondering, is the WL series a different from series B (in handling and durability)? I have a series B one, and it's very good.

Flourishers will swear by UV500 over all other stocks, from what I've heard from them.

White Lions Series A and B are identical in performance, which is to say mighty fine.
The series A are definitely different that the Bs The As feel more stiff and durable than the Bs IMHO. I like the handling of the As better.

I remember reading somewhere that the original SS lions were on tally-ho stock that's why it handled so well. But I cannot confirm that.

Don. U are not alone. I remember reason about that somewhere too. Should be their current holiday contest or their previous contest. Or was it the 52plus contest where Lee Asher n dnd were also involved.

On a side note. TBC website is soooo not mobile friendly. I cannot properly maneuver ard the site using my iPhone

Playing Card Plethora / Re: New Deck - David Blaine White Lions Gaff Deck
« on: December 20, 2012, 11:49:47 PM »
Those are some pretty nice gaffs. I also heard another 'solution' to the marking system that allows you to correctly identify the values of the cards. (Remember how we had some overlapping values in labyrinth's solution? This one eliminates them.) But I am still trying to verify them.

Thanks Don :).

Also I suspect there will be some duplicate cards in that deck as the description mentioned that there are '37 never-before-released Gaff White Lion Red and Blue cards' and there should be at least 56 cards in the deck. Or maybe 19 of them are double backers and blank-faced cards that have already been seen. Well, all will be revealed in due time.

Playing Card Plethora / Re: If I could only get 1 or 2 decks!!! For Magic!!
« on: December 19, 2012, 08:35:42 AM »
Card that are good for magic should be:
1) Cheap and recognizable
2) Easily obtainable

Thus with a $40 budget I suggest you stick with bicycles. Invest in a gaff deck and Voila! Gaffs are what spectators usually don't anticipate and using bikes allow you to tear, sign and fold cards without feeling so much pain yet delivering a more powerful effect. Using bikes also allow you to integrate a lot of other gimmicks and gaffs as most of them are built for a standard bicycle deck, like a marked, mirage or a Svengali deck like Don mentioned.

I hope that helped :)

« on: December 19, 2012, 03:20:02 AM »
I finally got my silver split spades but first thing I notice was the plain white brick box. My brick did not come with the semi-custom brick box which I would like to have(considering I bought a brick)

EDIT: All my decks had 1 seal and very minimal defects(the only defects were the slight tear on the top left on the front of the box, similar to the series B episode).

I was wondering when someone else would notice - I was about to post it.  I picked up a brown clip.

This about it - only 22 clips, only 22 decks...  Now THAT'S a short run.  I'm sure there's more that will eventually see the light of day, but when, how many and at what cost?
Don, When u get them post some pictures. Or at least describe what the gaffs are :)
