He passed away in 1962, he was a retired cheater, I am very proud to have a 78 RPM recording (Hey, it was done in the 50s!) of him talking about the Bottom Deal, about 10 minutes long together with the original manuscript.

Have you ever heard of him before this thread? And what do you like of his work?

Introduce Yourself / Re: Hello Everyone!

Oak Leaf Back yes, the same model as the ones used by Dai Vernon in "Triumph" in Star's of Magic. Which are the really rare ones. I am a simple collector, I collect Bicycle, Tally Ho, Bee, Arrco and Aristocrats. The main vintage decks I have are made up by those. Sx, I can't find your topic, can you please link it?

I will SX! Aaron, it is a very tough decision for me, as a back design the Racer Back#2 and the 727s are my favourites, together with the Oak Leaf Back (not listed in Robinson's though) and Nautic Back are the ones that come to me off the top of my head. But my favourite vintage decks are the ones that Dai Vernon handled (one of which was made for his birthday) and another which Marlo used.

A Cellar of Fine Vintages / Re: Sealed or resealed nuggets?

No, those are legit GNs. I have some of them and they are similar or have the seal to the left, but always tight sealed cellophane. If that was resealed, which it isn't, it belonged to a cheater of course, from Kansas City I believe and might have been Dave,Sinatra before he moved to NY or Doctor. Those were the only men in that era that could replicate a perfectly sealed deck like that.

Hi,

My name is Alessandro and I am an Italian card magician, and I love collecting vintage decks and gambling equipment. I am a classical guy, no flourishes or fancy stuff for me, some of you may be like me, some of you don't. My dear friend Digipunk suggested I registered here, and he is right, this decision was perfect!

Anyway,   that's all.

Thank you,

Alessandro

Magical Cardistry Bonanza / Re: Juice Decks?
« on: March 04, 2012, 11:58:06 AM »
Juiced Decks were invented by a colleague named I. T. (won't expose his real name) from Canada, his girlfriend spit out the secret to the cops and then they arrested him. Only few people know the original formula of the Juice, which is used to cheat, not for magic. About the eye in the sky, usually Take Off Men have Agents so don't worry about that, if they are good, they will steal money from the casino.
