NO, its mine, I just want to see some photos first, but hopefully i can get it!!

Haha, don't worry man, I'm just second choice in case you decide not to buy it. Or... if you don't manage to save up that $500.  ;)

check it out

Just about to post about this.  ;)
Seriously, guys. This little teaser video makes me want the deck so much. So I guess, in that respect, it's done its job perfectly. The card backs look amazing, for a start. Not only that, but the face of the cards has a background aswell! And it looks great.
And don't get me started on the tuckbox. It's amazingly elegant, showing the four suits held up on tentacles, or tendrils, and reading tendril down the right side.
Don't take my word for it, check out the video yourself by clicking that link up there.
As soon as this deck goes on Kickstarter, you can be sure that I'll immediately be pledging for at least 3 of these decks.

I'd love to get one of these, I really would. But my wallet has really taken a beating lately. I really am sorry that I couldn't help you out with this.  :(

Yeah, I doubt they'd release it in other colours. Although, I'd definitely be interested in a blue LTD. deck.

This sounds interesting, Robert. I'd love to hear more.
And I own none, mainly because of the high price, and the fact that they're purely for display purposes. Part of the reason why I love cards is because I love handling them.

How much would shipping be to the UK for the Pirate set?
Only if Josh doesn't get it.  ;)

I mean the compass inside the diamond is shifted upwards.
Ah, point taken. That doesn't bother me in the slightest, though. :P

Yeah I got a few, but not a ton compared to some people. I have one of both. I'm looking to get some more from the JAQK site sometime this year

More than me; I didn't manage to pick up any!
I'd definitely buy a bunch from the JAQK site if they still sold their first, original edition with the seal.

Year of the "Limited" deck scandal - I'm sure we all had merz67 in mind here.  8)

The ONLY problem I have with this deck is the Ace of Diamonds is off-centered.

Is it? It looks fine to me.

I just wish they had done something with the rest of the deck. Maybe blue instead of the red cards?

Yeah, I'd like that too. Maybe the blue colour used on the ace of spades. Obviously this would be kind of odd, seeing as the spade is a black pip, and it would be the same colour as the 'red' pips, but hey, who knows? Maybe it'd work great.
Will you be doing some kind of review on the charity: water deck, Derek911?

That's a tidy little collection of Black Crowns you've got yourself there!
And are those the Theory11 JAQK decks? Or the original JAQK Cellars edition?

The EATCT box and the Black Stingers are about the same in texture/finish.  It literally feels like you're touching an Air Cushion finish playing card.

Oh, really? Cool. I never knew that. Now I'm looking forward to my EATCT arriving more than ever! :D

Playing Card Plethora / Re: Bicycle Ribbon Edition Series?
« on: December 30, 2011, 07:49:17 PM »
Since the deck was opened when he sold it to you... the most likely answer is that they owned more than one version of this deck.. and someone put the cards in the wrong tuck case after handling them.

Haha, I honestly did consider this. But here; http://www.doobybrain.com/2009/09/07/bicycle-pink-ribbon-playing-cards/ the cards are shown like the deck that I was sold recently, not the deck that I got a few years ago.

There were 3 versions of the breast cancer deck...

There was a copyright issue with the "pink ribbon", which I'm pretty sure is not on the last box (middle one above)

Yeah, that's what I thought. And I guess the copyright issue explains why the backs of the cards and the back of the deck don't match.
But it doesn't explain why my deck came with cards without the ribbons, yet the exact same deck box contains cards with ribbons. Any ideas?

Yeah, you can have a completely custom back, but not a modified rider back. I'd think the one with the ribbons was an earlier print, and then the ribbons would've been removed to respect those new rules...
If those are still in stores, I'll check if they have a seal next time I go to walmart.

Thanks a lot for offering to look for me. It'd be a great help.  :)
Also, surely the USPCC can decide to modify the back, seeing as it's their own design? I'm pretty sure this deck isn't a custom deck - I think the USPCC designed and printed it all themselves. At least, that's what I always thought. And it doesn't say anywhere on the deck 'Designed by so-and-so'.

Can you tell me his username? I'd like to not only ask about these decks, but also the Miracle Decks.

Playing Card Plethora / Bicycle Ribbon Edition Series?
« on: December 30, 2011, 03:46:50 PM »
Hey.
I've got something here that has got me pretty confused, so I thought I'd post it up over here and see what you guys have to say about it. I'll dive straight into it.
A couple of years ago, I bought a Bicycle Ribbon Edition Deck. It came in cellophane, but without a seal. At the time, I didn't think anything of it. I knew that some decks came with the sticker seals. But this morning, a package arrived for me in the mail from KPopFever605. One of the decks was the same Ribbon Edition Deck that I already have (not the deck I thought I'd ordered, but that's a different matter). The curious thing was, that this deck had a seal on it. I'd bought it as a used deck, so the seal was broken, which I was fine with, especially as it meant I could check out the cards. The weird thing is, the cards inside have ribbons in each corner of the card, instead of angels like on a regular rider back deck. Yet, in my deck, the cards are just pink rider backs; no ribbons. And the faces on the new decks have either one or two ribbons incorporated in it somewhere, yet mine just has regular Bicycle faces, with the exception of the red suits being pink. The weirder thing is that the back of the deck box shows a face down card without ribbons in the corners. And yet, one of these decks did have ribbons in the corners.
I've still got a sealed deck of the Ribbon Edition deck that I bought a few years ago, and I checked that box aswell. It didn't have a seal either. And the little tag that you can pull to unwrap the cellophane doesn't say 'Bicycle' across it as a few of my other sealed Bicycles do.
What I really want to know is, are the two decks that I bought a few years ago fake decks? The handling is just the same as a normal deck, and the cards feel the same thickness and everything. But I can't think of any other conclusion to make, other than a fake deck of cards, a balls up at the USPCC, or a different edition of the Ribbon Edition deck.
Also, while digging around, I found some other pictures of the deck that look to be the same as KPopFever605's deck; http://www.doobybrain.com/2009/09/07/bicycle-pink-ribbon-playing-cards/
I've posted some pictures below. The deck on the left is my deck from a few years ago, and the deck on the right is the one I just received from KPopFever605. Sorry about the bad quality/lighting; I just quickly used my cell phone to take the pictures.
Also, sorry about the wall of text above. Just trying to make myself as clear as possible, though I fear I've just confused the issue even more. Any help is appreciated.  :)

Playing Card Plethora / Re: Tungstene deck available again!

Ah, damn. I just realised the release time is 4am tonight for me. I can try staying up, but this is the first night that I've been free to actually have a good sleep. Maybe I'll miss this one out - I don't think Tungstene will be in my price range anyway. Good luck, guys. I hope all of you who are eagerly awaiting the release manage to pick up a deck or two.

This deck does have many unique and different elements.  You might be thinking "matte finish" on the tuck box - the opposite of the shiny finish.  Personally, I like the shiny, but I can dig the matte because you don't see it much.  My favorite was the Black Stingers - they actually have a dimpled, "Air Cushion" style finish on the box, which I thought was awesome.

Hm. I think it's somewhere along the lines of 'matte finish', but it's a bit more specific; it's the kind of texture that you find on a lot of books, once the cover has been removed. And maybe even the Erdnase EATCT box has the same texture. Well, I don't need to describe it; you know what I'm talking about.
Can you link me to any pictures or videos of the Black Stingers that show that aspect of the box in detail? It sounds really awesome; I'd love to check it out.
And yeah, while I don't dislike the shiny tuckbox finish, the 'matte finish' style just seems that much more stylish and smart.

Oh, wow. I just saw the back design on 52cartes. It looks awesome!

Playing Card Plethora / Re: charity: water deck, THEORY 11

Just to inject something else into this discussion, I actually am a big fan of the charity: water deck. The deck box is nice; it's a lovely minimalist design, that isn't too minimalist, but still enough to look stylish. And I think the smooth, shiny deck boxes look a lot less professional and smart when compared to these more fabric style decks (can anyone tell me what that's called?).
And the backs look really nice aswell. A yellow back is not often seen on a deck of cards, and the contrast with the black outlines looks really striking. Also, the idea of having water canteens as the back design is a great idea.
And have you guys seen the ace of spades? It's a lovely design, and the light blue colour is again, not often seen on an AoS.
To be honest, the whole deck looks really lovely to me. The fact that the proceeds go to charity is just an added bonus for me. While I'm not sure I would spend $10 on this deck if the money wasn't going to charity, I would definitely consider it; it wouldn't be out of the question.
I've ordered the deck already, so I'll be sure to let you guys know how it's like in real life; what the handling is like, how well the colours and designs look to the naked eye and all that stuff.

274
Wow. I'm tempted to add a Black Crown deck to my order now.
@Angel_magic , I'm still interested in getting my order, by the way. Just getting the money.  :)

I actually think these look really nice!
And $12.50 for a deck including international shipping is really good.
I'm hoping to pick up a deck, as long as these don't sell out too soon.
