I can't wait for this deck to come out!
And I liked the page a good week or so ago, so I'm already entered!
Good luck, everyone! :D

I'll definitely consider it, as long as they're less than $26. Preferably a lot less than that. :P

Playing Card Plethora / Re: What to do with destroyed LTD deck?
« on: December 28, 2011, 09:30:05 AM »
Haha, to be honest, I'd love to get that deck. xD
But I doubt you're looking to give it away. In which case, keep it as a regular use deck. Try out any new flourishes and sleights with the deck. It won't matter if it gets bent, or creased, or if you drop it in a puddle. It doesn't matter what happens to it, because it's just 48 cards that you got for free, missing the deck box.

Thanks a lot, Good@Sabacc. I've added that code.

Ugh. Sorry, but I really don't like this idea. To me, it seems almost as bad as a clip art deck.
No way am I going to be pledging even a dollar.

The backs of the warlock look like Tally Circle back

I was going to say the same! It's like a mix between the Tally-Ho Circle back, and the Black Crown back. At least, it is to me. :P
Although, the Black Crown back is very similar to the Tally-Ho Circle back anyway. So, maybe it's just similar to the Black Crown back?
Either way, it looks pretty nice. I hope it gets printed.  ;D

Playing Card Plethora / Re: What should I open?
« on: December 27, 2011, 11:22:18 AM »
Well, are you a collector? Or a performer? A lot of serious collectors will keep all of their decks sealed. Although, as you're asking us, I'm guessing that's something you don't want to do. In which case, I would say you should keep these cards sealed;
• Smoke and Mirrors v6
• Mirrors v2
• If An Octopus Could Palm
• Tungstene

But if you think the Cincinatti decks are worth keeping sealed, then do that too. If it were up to me, I'd probably open those decks, seeing as they're not that rare yet.
While I am a collector, I do also like to handle the cards that I get, although I usually only handle them for a couple of minutes. I prefer to get doubles of decks so that I can handle one deck, and keep the other deck sealed.
Really, it's up to you which decks you open. I have the same problem whenever I get new decks. But if I was in this situation, I'd open all but the ones I listed near the top of this post.
I hope you reach a decision soon, and have fun with your cards. You're so lucky to get a VBv4 for Christmas!  ;D

I found that website earlier this year, and I killed so much time on it. For, literally, at least a month, I set this page as my homepage, and every day when I switched on my laptop, I'd just spend some time browsing through the website. I found out about some pretty cool decks, and the collection of the person who runs that site is also really impressive. It's a great resource for any less experienced collectors, although I wish they'd update some more of their 'uncreated' pages; the ones that say "The page does not (yet) exist".

I think the site creator accepts submissions, if you have photos and info about a deck that he's lacking such details on.  Have you considered submitting?

Yeah, I thought he might do, seeing as it's a wiki. Unfortunately, the 'uncreated' pages are mainly cards that I'm interested in, and do not yet have. Although there are a few that I hope to be getting soon. If I get them, I'll be sure to contact him with any photos and information I have.
Thanks for the heads up!

Thanks, I didn't buy any today. I got them at the original release. But also, try posting an "ISO" thread in the Selling section of this forum
Ah, okay.
And thanks for the tip, but I think I've already found a seller.  ;)

Sorry man
Yeah, that's fine. Don't worry about it.  :) Enjoy your Black Crown decks!

« on: December 26, 2011, 01:37:16 PM »
Yea I'm pretty sure those are the blue wynns as well, I have a couple blue wynns and I always thought they looked more purple than blue.

I've always heard them called Violet Wynns, rather than Blue Wynns. Maybe that's why; because they look more purple than blue?

$50 a brick! That's cheap! That's for the mixed colours, though.

$105 a brick for the Black Crowns. No way. I mean, I didn't expect them any cheaper than that ($8.75 a deck), but still. I won't be buying them if they're only sold in bricks.

Yeah, I'm having the same problem as you guys. It takes about 15 seconds to just reload the page. And I can't see the decks yet.
I may consider getting a brick, if the price is right.

There is at least one other UK user on here I know of - you AREN'T the only one.
Yeah, I know, I've seen someone say they were from the UK, but I can't remember exactly who it was. And with 5 minutes to go, I won't bother trying to look. Also, there's no guarantee that any of the other UK users will want to get any Black Crown decks.

Oh, I forgot to say. White Arrcos will be by the brick only aswell.
And, it seems, the other coloured Crown decks. Although, a mixed brick can be purchased with 4 each of the Red, Green and Blue decks.

where did u guys get that info? i havent seen anywhere that said it's by brick. they havent said anything on the forums or on facebook regarding buying by brick.
They just emailed me to let me know.

Have you considered grouping up with your fellow Discoursers to buy a whole brick together and SPLIT it?
I would have suggested this, but if I did that, I'd have to find another UK user. I wouldn't want to impose international shipping on anyone when they don't need it.

and what half an hour u mean 1.5 hours? or they changed to earlier release?
No, half an hour as in 0.5 hours. In other words, 30 minutes.
Although, as Moon.exe said, it's in 20 minutes now.

Update, guys!
The Black Crowns will be sold by the brick only. You will not be able to buy single decks.
This probably means that I won't get any; I doubt I'll be allowed to spend enough money to buy a whole brick.
Also, the release is in just half an hour! Anyone hoping to pick up a brick (or more), I hope you'll be ready and waiting!

No offense was intended.  I was simply pointing out a very cool online resource, and the source of your photo.  You really should check out that website - you can kill a lot of time looking over the card decks they have listed.  I've been thinking of contributing photos of decks they're lacking pictures of.

I found that website earlier this year, and I killed so much time on it. Playing Card Plethora / Re: some weird decks
« on: December 25, 2011, 12:04:50 PM »
The first are the Big Gun decks. If I'm not mistaken, they're a USPC reprint of some decks they brought out at the end of World War One, I believe. They're quite a nice little set, and were only quite recently released; some time in 2011. I've also heard that only 2,500 of each colour were printed, although I'm not sure how true that is.
The second and third are the Gold Trace and Red Trace decks, respectively. They're designed by Merz67, and are commonly referred to as 'clip art' decks - decks that have taken hardly any time to design, and just use basic clip art images instead of unique, new images when it comes to the deck box, the Jokers and the ace of spades. This is shown by the fact that the Gold Trace deck box shows the cube with spade pips on the side; a piece of clip art.
The last deck is the Bicycle Smiling Back. It was designed by a magician called Meir Yedid, and is a gaff deck, or 'trick' deck. All the cards have smiling faces on the back, except for an extra four cards, which show a 'dead' face, with a bullet hole in his forehead that goes right through the card. The idea of the deck is that you force a card on a spectator, then cut the deck or what have you, and then pretend to shoot the deck. You then fan out the cards, and see one 'dead' face. You show the card, and it is the spectator's card. All the faces are regular Bicycle faces.
If anyone has seen any mistakes here, please don't hesitate to correct me.  :)
