Magical Cardistry Bonanza / Dan and Dave S.E.A Tour
« on: October 29, 2012, 03:47:51 AM »
All those that went to the lecture, come here and share your thoughts and experience. I for one had an awesome time. Although most stuff had been though on their DVDs, Ricky Smith was super funny and seeing them in the flesh was well worth it. Having them pinpoint my mistakes for some of the moves was also a great experience. Anyone with any pictures or videos of the lectures should also post them here to share :).

Playing Card Plethora / What purchase(s) was most worth it?
« on: October 29, 2012, 12:38:32 AM »
Since there is a thread discussing the most regretful purchases, I, being a happy person, though of starting a thread to share the most happy purchase. One of the more recent worth it purchases of mine was the white monarchs that I got off t11. I bought 3 of them and sold 2 to make enough money to buy myself a smoke and mirrors v1 that I have been wanting to get for a long long time. And also, I did not regret spending money to attend the DnD lecture in Singapore as I made many new friends the lecture was awesome. Dan, Dave and Ricky were also super nice and friendly people willing to impart knowledge and share ideas, not forgetting that they also adhere to almost all request to sign stuff and take photographs.

I just bought a Robert Graham shirt as it looked very nice and realized that most of his shirt have the batik design. I also noticed there is not one review of this deck that I can find. Has anyone opened the deck from the VB and is willing to do a review?

What about you?  They're not exactly common decks so most people here won't have any.  I know I don't.
I dont have them either. Thats why I was/am looking for a pic or vid review.

306
They did indeed help design this deck. Just like the eng laudry deck.

Where did those pictures come from? I went to the Asian lecture but I didn't see any of the 2 above mentioned decks. But they did say a new fultons is on the way sometime this week or the next.

Edit: referring to the 2nd picture.

Some bundles have been accounted for and I will be adding the Black labels for sale once they are for sale on DB's site. This is the best opportunity for those who have yet to get their hands on either color and the black label and save on shipping.

Cheers

P.S I am running low on the series B Blue

Gold Artifact coins trade in the $30-$50 range at any given point in recent history - sell the bloody coin if you don't want it and use the profits to pick your own stuff, from Ellusionist or from anywhere for that matter.  The same goes for gaffs autographed by the magician who created them - magic collectors would definitely pay a premium for them.

When someone gives you a gift, you don't get to be too picky and choosy about what is offered.  You have the freedom in this case to choose from a list of gifts - something not always available to someone receiving a gift.  To do as you suggest would be akin to bringing a "free meal" coupon into an authentic Mexican restaurant and trying to order Tokyo-style ramen or Swedish meatballs or an Ethiopian wat with sponge bread or some other dish from an entirely different continent - you get what's on the menu, that's all, nothing else to choose from.
Fair enough...

Moving along, which of these rewards would you guys reach for. I know not everyone would want a jam session with the best cardists in the art, but which others rewards are you guys yearning for, and hopefully look to reach one day. For me, i'd like to get my hands on that signed Propaganda. Sick!

I guess I will have to pass on that.

$53...? Is that domestic?

@Don: I don't know, I'd probably sell them for $25-35. I kind of want to exchange one of my IAOCP decks for a v2 Magic Con, as that is the one big deck I'm missing from D&D.
I would trade you my magic con v2 plus a little more for the book and the deck :)

Do you still have a white centurion left, I will take it if you do? There were several others on the thread that expressed interest a head of me so was not sure.

What would the shipping be from UK to USA?
I was one of them but he doesnt seem to be responding to my emails after the day he logged in. And i cannot seem to send him any more mails :( I really hope to get the white cent.

315
would you trade any white lions for any of this pm me =D

I've mentioned this before, Zaganh - MAKE A LIST.  I know, it's hard, but people can't tell half of what you have from that photo!

The alternative is to watch potential trades slip through your fingers...

i made a list don =D

Funny, I don't see it here...  Dude, post it, don't post it, doesn't make a difference to me.  I just thought you might actually want to complete a successful trade instead of leaving people scratching their heads and ignoring you.

He is saying to post the list so Ben knows what you have! LOL

I appreciate the backup, bro, but I've got this.  Next time I should just take it to PM...

My apologies for interrupting your trade thread, Sieg.

On a side note, that was my 5,555th post...
It all right guys. I've got this under control :) Totally didnt mind. This helped me bump my post. hahahah ;p He did gave me a list of a handful of what he posted that I was interested. We will settle it through PM. Thanks

@Joshua, Still waiting on you :)

"In 2007, Jonathan Bayme and I decided that we were going to release a Daniel Madison deck of playing cards." - Daniel Madison

That quote is from very recently and they now have a facebook page for it so it sounds like they will be releasing it soon!

The video that you see in the link is the quote above, in reverse: http://madisonplayers.com/

Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/MadisonPlayers
I was trying to grab the video and use an editing software to reverse it. but guess there is no need now. Thanks.

The Conversation Parlor / Re: Apple Sep 12 Keynote
« on: September 13, 2012, 11:01:15 PM »
I think its quite a step up from the iphone 4 but not the 4s though. The new earpieces also look subpar.(And the say they took 3 years designing). Hahahahhaha. Apple is always doing stuff that have already been done before and giving it a new name to make it sound cooler. take facetime for example. Video call has been around for about 10 years now and they reinvented it to become facetime. but I must say the app store and all these stuff packed into one device is pretty cool.

Finally! But I highly suspect that they would not be for regular sale.

On a side note, doesn't the imp in the background look like the Imp on dnd's t-shirt?

No that isn't the imp, it's from one of DB posters
Yeah I know. But it looks like :)

Playing Card Plethora / Re: NEW DECK - DB White Lions: Black Label
« on: September 13, 2012, 02:00:56 AM »
Apparently I missed a detail on these. I thought that they all had the embossing on  the tuck cases, but that seems to not be the case. Is that what the whole black label thing is about? All the pics I ever saw of the deck had the emboss, so I thought that was the general release.

As it stands, we believe that the Black Label is a Series B deck design with metallic silver ink.  The embossing on the regular "B" decks was on the title, whereas the Black Label has it there and on the lion face.  (Or we could be all wrong and "Black Label" is simply the black version of this deck!)  Either way, both cases have the title embossing because without it, there's no name brand on the box.

If I was guessing, I'd say this deck will hit the market the same time as the silver Split Spades Lions.  I'm just hoping they don't pull an "AIP" situation and make this deck part of a very expensive package or some such nonsense.

I'm going to move the posts dealing with Black Label to the topic for Black Label - or make one if one doesn't already exist.
I think you got them mixed up. I think the black label is just the white lions series 'B' in black and the metallic silver ones you are talking about are the split spades silver edition.

Can anyone explain Why the price of hotels are so expensive on the 3rd of Oct in San Francisco?

I can't ... but a quick internet search can give some clues
http://sanfrancisco.about.com/od/monthlycalendarsevents/a/sffestivalsoct.htm
thanks. That sort of explains it. I was googling holidays in SF and nothing came out. :) Any specific recommendations regarding lodging in SF?
