I like their previous design except for the fact that have skulls (of course), and the smoke that outlines the S. I'm glad they changed the design, it looks a lot better now.

Yeah, I'm not too fond of that smoke either...

Introduce Yourself / Re: Salutations!

To think that I didn't even consider printing the cards when I began. This deck really did just start out as a personal art project.

Wait a minute... you never had the idea of making an actual deck in mind? Wow. That's really interesting actually. So, this is totally just art, it's not purely based on how well a deck of cards will sell. That certainly makes me think what would happen if all decks started off as solely art projects. :P

Yeah, I must say, D&Ds shipping is so overpriced.

Wait alex, how many times can we claim prizes. For example, if we have 800 posts, can we receive the signed playing cards and then at 1250 can we claim the Vortex deck? What I am asking is if we can claim more than once when we reach certain checkpoints.

We can only claim two of the material rewards.

405
Ohh, I can't wait, I'm already loving the deck. When is the Kickstarter release date?

I'd like to know that too!  ;D

I thought everyone knew that by now...  ???

You are thinking of the second aether deck, not the second vortex deck  ;D

Ah. A classic example of me being an idiot. Now I really want to get to 350 posts!  ;D

I'm just going to say that I love the way this deck is looking. I can't wait for the chance to place an order!

Yeah, I've heard that.

was the green rider back ever printed in KY? i thought all the old box colour series were all printed in OH, and when they moved to KY, they started with this new box design and printed so far the red, blue, fuchsia, turquoise and now green.

someone correct me if i'm wrong.

That sounds pretty feasible to me.

I totally agree. It gives it a nice, modern twist. Definitely one of my favourite designs this season.

I'm not sure, but I'm guessing it's probably right. Not that it means anything to me, though. xD

I love that design, but that's totally true. There are way too many skull/death themed decks. The final back is much better.

I guess I ate my words about being able to figure this stuff out; and it was completely staring me in the face the whole time, too.  Oh, well, I've worked it out now and I guess all that remains now is to give myself a nice big congratulatory high five.

Judging by that awesomely worded subtle hint, I'm guessing that the stock is 825. :P

You are one fortunate guy. I wish I had enough money to spare to buy a $25 order. Although, I don't think that includes shipping, so I'd have to add on quite a bit to that total too. So, I don't plan on getting a wristband. But congratulations!

416
I just checked on the Ellusionist website about this; I hadn't heard of it before. The system sounds awesome. If I were a US citizen, I'd get a wristband immediately.
Unfortunately though, I have no information on which prizes have been received.

Isn't this just the same as the normal green rider back deck, it's just in a different box?

This deck looks really interesting. I'm pretty excited about getting some, and I hope to pick myself up a couple. Again, once they reach some UK sites. I'm curious though. These decks have the new Performance Coating. I haven't felt it yet, is it as good as it's made out to be?

Hello, Alex.
I'm just curious where will you sell this deck if you wont use kickstarter?

Actually, that's a very good point. I'm wondering that too.

I haven't got any of the series yet, but I certainly plan to get at least the red and blue deck ASAP, after all these new decks have stopped coming out in one big bunch.

I understand; it's a simple matter of preference. I like the QR code design, and you don't. Although I can see where you're coming from. They're not the most aesthetically pleasing design to use for a deck of cards, for sure.

Design & Development / Re: Borderless Cards - Not all bad?
« on: December 07, 2011, 02:45:14 PM »
...and if you can't perform with a deck, it's not much use to a magician.  Collectors seem to love the borderless designs more than players and magicians.  I don't know which side of the fence the cardists lean toward.  Borderless does look attractive in many cases, no doubt, but I'm a performer first and a collector second.  It's only for certain tricks that I'd ever take out an Artifice V1 or something similar.  And this doesn't even factor in the edge nicks that are the bane of any borderless designs, black cards in particular.  Hard to do a classy trick with cards that looked like they survived a battlezone only by the skin of their finish.

"By the skin of their finish" - Priceless! But in all seriousness, I agree. Bordered designs are definitely more popular when it comes to magicians, but collectors don't seem to mind.

I can understand the high deck price reasoning, but not really the second one. xD Is 'brilliant' only used in the UK?  ???

I didn't say the shipping on eBay was bad; I said that I would rather it not be an eBay listing as I won't be buying immediately. Either way, I can't find all three of the decks on eBay, only two of the set. And they've both got quite expensive shipping. But I'll keep on trying, and hopefully sort out some kind of deal.
