I love my Bicycle Prestige deck! Definitely the best plastic deck out there. That deck looks terrible though, 1 way back and its just a terrible lazy design in my opinion.

One-way?  I have Prestige decks and never noticed.  Where, exactly?

I think he was referring to this deck when he mentioned the one way backs; the tips of the bones of the skull and cross bones pattern are slightly different on each side. The two on the right side are the same, and the two on the left side are different from the ones on the right side, but the same as each other. Making it a one way back design. Although, in my opinion, it's quite a subtle difference, and I quite like it.

I'll do my best :) Just to let you guys know, I plan to have a different name for this deck. The "Transformation Deck" is too general.

I see what you mean, but I quite like it. I guess that's just because that's how I know it now. But I mean, it's your deck, call it what you like. I'm sure you can think of a better name if you think this one isn't good enough. Good luck!

It's certainly a unique and really attractive deck (in my opinion). I can't wait to get a couple.

At least them seem to acknowledge there is a problem. Hopefully that'll mean that they extend the deadline.

I am going to really like it. Imagine if they made an entire rainbow of Dragon Decks. HA!

Haha! That would be pretty funny. :P

That's what I was coming to realise. I thought I'd check here anyway, in case anyone perchance knew a site. And there's always a chance that someone on here, or someone who joins in the future may have them, and would be okay with selling them to me. But thanks for the feedback.

Yeah, I guess it just depends on the deck. For an arcane deck I would want to see elegantly-printed text but this deck (like you said) calls for the qr code. This is the first I've seen of a deck like this and that partially why I'm so fond of it.

Exactly. It all depends on the deck. I really think this suits the QR code design, and it's definitely something new when it comes to decks of cards.

Anyway; I love what you've done so far enough that I'll probably buy them no matter what you do but I think the way your designs have been made on the front, the back would not suit a completely borderless design.

I agree. I think your deck would definitely suit a bordered design better than a borderless.

Just buy a deck - then you can have 56 poker-sized prints!   :o

Exactly what I thought!

I'd love to pick up a deck of these, I really would. But I've got a lot of decks lined up that I need desperately, and I'm pretty short of money as it is. I might think about getting a deck of these a little later, but at $24 for two decks, I can't afford it at the moment. But it honestly looks brilliant! :D

Let me guess - international buyer?  UK, perhaps?

Indeed, a UK buyer. Yourself?

A price would be helpful. Although, I highly doubt I'll be buying from the D&D store. As I've mentioned before, these websites charge way too much for international shipping. It's cheaper to wait for a local UK site to get them in stock, or even an eBay seller sometimes.

437
This guy just sounds pretty dodgy in general. Another reason why I won't be buying any of his ugly decks.

Ooh, these look really interesting. Are they rare or common? Like, will they be as readily available as the current rider back mini decks are?

I certainly hope it does work out. I just can't get my head around this. It's so ridiculous.

Pffffftt... that price?  Forget it.

I agree. That's way too expensive. No way am I getting it.

I've only ever seen 1 other.

Sorry

CBJ

Wow. Very impressive! :P Do you have any idea of a name for it, other than 'mini'? And do you know what the cards inside look like? I'm not sure if that's sealed or not.

Well, at least they've actually replied. But yeah, I agree. They should contact Amazon themselves.

I would like to find out the full story on these prototypes one day.  I got 2 sets of these off of ebay (traded one set last year).  It was really weird. The seller I bought them from sold things like baby clothes, disney stuff, etc. not playing cards.  She listed the set in some weird category with a weird title and I just got lucky and stumbled onto them.  She said she couldn't remember how she came across them to sell. Weird!

I'm just saying this in case you didn't see, but there was a link posted above to an article about them: http://www.magictimes.com/archives/2010/2010-09_30-spotlight.htm
I think the general idea is that this was the original design for the decks. And the svengali deck came with two decks, one normal, and one all the same card, but slightly shorter. This allowed you to assemble your own svengali deck, and have two decks of it, both with the same force card. Seems kind of pointless though, which I'm guessing is why they only included one ready made svengali deck in the final edition.
Also, out of curiosity, how much did you pay for both of these sets?

I think I'll just be picking up a deck of these to see them, like Kanped. And I haven't handled plastic cards before. I might even like them, who knows?

What's the mini deck in the far bottom right with the green spade on the front?

I personally love the Linoid finish and the UV500 Airflow finish. They make handling so effortless. Although, due to lack of use, I've no idea how they hold up in the long run.

As Alex said, they are made by hand, not the traditional printing presses. I think they use a cmyk digital printer to print the deck and then punch/cut the cards out. Probably takes more than a couple hours to do, hence the high cost.

Yeah, I guess you're right. But still, it's quite a hefty price. I guess that's the price of hand made cards though, eh?

448
I would only buy them if Lady GaGa performed with them wearing a dress made out of used copies of DandD Trilogy! ;)

Haha! So, you'd basically never buy them. :P

449
Oh, and about the border issue. I'd probably recommend having a border. I don't personally have a distinct preference, but I know that many people prefer a deck with borders. And on the whole, I think borders make decks look a lot more neat and tidy, and a little more professional too.

450
A poker sized print would be pointless.
If there were prints, they should be large prints

I wasn't sure if you meant you wanted to be able to just buy single cards on their own, rather than a whole deck of the cards. But you're right, that would be pretty pointless.
