Playing Card Plethora / Re: De'vo Blades: Blood Metal Edition
« on: February 20, 2012, 05:46:58 PM »
Did he go through with that?

Yes, don't forget I was a big fan of him (at least he thought I was). :P

I bought not only 3 bricks of the Silver Blades, but also 2 of his Blade Clips (limited to 50 and sold out before they're announced to the public). I looked like a super fan from any angle of view. Besides, originally they were not familiar with the shipping methods and the international shipping was VERY VERY expensive (as expensive as D&D, the postage was decided by the shopping system and really unreasonable), I taught them how to use Medium/Large Flat Rate Boxes to ship internationally so that buyers may save much money (and that's why I got partial refund twice).

I haven't had too much working with him personally. However, when I asked him about getting some of his cards he was very generous. Thus, I can only go off of what I know personally, and what I know personally is that he is a decent dude who does what he does and doesn't pay much mind outside of that. 8)

He is good to his fans, really. So I pretend to be his fan when I need something from him  :P :P :P

I don't have any Silver Blades now, but when I bought 3 bricks from him, I asked him to sign on the whole brick of 12 decks (all boxes, jokers, blank face cards, and AoS. In other words, he had to sign 5 times for a deck)  ??? ???

I guess that's why he then announced on the website: 2 signatures at most for one brick ;D

I know a good guy who is enthusiastic about helping people, someone even called him Don the Sheriff. Maybe you can try to ask for his help : you send money to him via PayPal and he sends cash to you. (I am joking here, but you may ask your friends to help you in this way)

I want to see more lives, no matter butterflies or moths (or owls) are fine for me. ::)

No ofense, but I still need to say SORRY first.
It is really difficult for me to be proud to tell my fellow collectors : "look, these decks are made in India..." :-\

Playing Card Plethora / Re: Brick Box
« on: February 20, 2012, 05:29:34 AM »
I thought that they didn't. I asked Syd if any other decks came with colored brick boxes, and he said only the v6's had them so far. So... tell me how it goes!
He probably meant out of D&D's own decks. Everyone knows standard USPC decks have bricks boxes so he probably assumed it wasn't interesting to point out. :P
So do I think. It doesn't make sense for them to keep the Tally Ho brick boxes ???

@cards95, I still think you will get the box if you buy a brick.

Actually many of my friends are big fans of de'vo, if you guys ever noticed the 06-07 XCM Champion was a Taiwanese. I ever tried to tell them something I heard from the net, but soon I found my life was in danger and had to stop the topic immediately. hahaha  :P :P

I am not sure whether D&D will send decks in their original brick box, but I guess they will. I ever bought some Tally Ho's in bricks from other dealers and they came with the original brick boxes.

@brown_bagg, actually I like the Bicycle banner too, though it sometimes makes a custom deck not that "custom". Somehow the banner often makes me feel the deck is more trustful.  :P

438
That's weird to take the name off at the $20,000 mark. I think there will be some backers who back it because it is a Bicycle deck. Interesting move there  ???

He regarded the Bicycle banner as a punishment if backers would not pledge much. ???

@Eyeball, I don't attach my bank account to PayPal either because I often buy items and holding the received payment in my Paypal account as Balance is more convenient for me.

I don't think The Blue Crown wants us to share those pictures yet.

We don't work for TBC, MagicAddictz. If this forum or alex is manipulated by TBC or other playing card manufacturers, there is no fun and I won't be here.

I like your reviews (though I am not very interested in all the decks you reviewed), and I know you keep adjusting and improving your reviews by asking for others' advice. It is important for a good reviewer ;)

443
They're not THE best but they seem to have gotten a reputation for not fanning well and I just don't think that's true.  V. Slims are probably the best I've got... maybe V6s, new Massas or new Blades (i.e., not used much).
According to my experience, they need to be conditioned or handled for a while before they can fan perfect. I like Wynns for their elegant looking and quality stock, and I also collect their dices and chips ;)

@brown_bagg, ohh..no, it's so cruel to me. You broke my heart. I don't like those faces :( :( :(

@Reylek, how could you say that, guessing about the dates and designs is our fun of collecting modern decks. well, I know we are standing on different positions ???

I don't like the faces and I hope they are not the faces of the Owls.
One side of the Owl box says The Blue Crown, doesn't it? I want the Owls!! I want the Owls!! >:( >:(

I have the brown, violet and red decks.  IMO, they were one of the best fanning decks I own straight out of the box.
If fanning is the only consideration, my choice is Old Stud.

De'vo said, This will be however one of the first ever gilded decks with the high performance stock and finish of Blades!"

this caught my eye, might be the first ever glided deck with performance, de'vo' please accept paypal!

Sorry to bring up this topic, just want to say de'vo accepts PayPal. I remember he partially refunded my payment twice.

If it looks like the above decks, but is black
If it looks like the above decks, but is black, then it's a fake. I don't want to explain more (I had spent too much time on discussing fake Wynns on Chinese forums), anyway trust me : they are fakes.

448
By the way, I've heard of black wynns too, seems like that there are real black wynns around. Anyone can vouch for that? :-\
If it is Wynn|Encore Black deck, it's legit.

449
OK... So let me get this straight:
Brown T11 - Great
Violet & Red Tech Art - Good
Everything Else - Fake

Or are there legit Green, Black, & Purple USPCC Decks out there?
Brown, Violet, and Red are all great and legit. Currently other colors are all fakes. Besides, people like the Stardard Index more than the Jumbo Index. You should not collect casino decks, they are not your style.

Is everyone in agreement that these are Fake and Bull$#!T? Because they're going for $50 for the set (thankfully I paid much less) on Fullboatdealer right now...
They are not fakes  ;)
