Magical Cardistry Bonanza / Re: How to table faro?
« on: February 12, 2012, 11:13:51 PM »
I want to learn the bridging on the table, upside down.
It is not a meaningful sleight, but I think you may learn it from videos on Youtube if you can find any.

By the way, this video might be illegal (I am not sure) but I just found it. so..

@hazofhorsham, I am not joking. If you only want to perform the "Table Faro" as shown in Nathan's link, you don't need any tutorial and practice. However, if you want to learn "Table Riffle Faro", then go to find a copy of ECT, watch the performance videos on YouTube 300 times and spend more than 2 weeks to practice this one of the most difficult card sleights, you will have a extremely powerful weapon in magic.

I guess this one isn't bad:

Good luck learning this difficult sleight!
Even a monkey can do that without practice.

« on: February 12, 2012, 03:28:40 PM »
I've complained about their names for a short period of time, it's time to tell the truth: I LIKE THESE DECKS MUCH. I also like the music used in the trailer. I definitely will get all the 4 decks.

For those who don't like the design, you should understand it's traditional Chinese style. Ancient China was a rich and powerful empire that ruled the whole Asia for thousands of years, all daily use items or artworks were gorgeous and complicated. I also like concise style much, but the design of these 4 decks are based on Chinese mythology and they actually do it well.

But I still very appreciate for Nathan's kindness. ;)

The box design of the "Black Warrior". (this pic was stolen from Kete's blog...)

The symbol and "北宮玄武" are right, only its name "Black Warrior" sucks.

@sxjy0109, it's an awesome deck again. :)

Will you get a better camera or use a scanner instead? Your vintage decks are worthy to be shown close up to be appreciated.

Jimmy usually shows his cards in great detail. I believe you may do this better than he.

There nearly no Aladdin variations so it's nice to see these.

Playing Card Plethora / Re: Custom Seals
« on: February 11, 2012, 02:51:17 PM »
I'm actually pretty surprised how many people don't like seals!
I like USPC black seals because modern decks have to be as ugly as they should be. They deserve only the black seals.  >:(  (please understand I am joking :-\ )

@brown_baggs and @jmrock,
I took a deep deep breath before opening the deck. My heart was broken when I saw the backs were red, but these decks are still collectible I think, at least I like them as usual.

Now, anyone wants to buy the blue OF I opened? (kidding :P )

@alex, finally I know having a resealer handy is important! (kidding :P )

Ah you should've sold it to me! Lol
But anyway, I did remember that I was told the decks were the same, and that proves it. ;)
Only opening it by myself, can I believe the cards are RED in whole series boxes. I wanted to know the fact too. I ever thought should I told you first, but things happened so suddenly. I simply tested the seller without placing much hope in it...

The deck in the pics was mine, not the one she sold me today. In other words, as soon as she sold me the deck, I took my blue OF (and the balisong) out of the cabinet. Now I hope the condition of her deck is in good shape as she described, or it's me who will cry.

The coatings of the OF is special, in that it makes these decks handled like Aqua to me. I like the feel, particularly when shuffling and cutting the cards on the table I can hear the sound of friction between the cards clearly.

jmrock, brown_baggs, sxjy0109, nathan, or anyone who's curious about the colors of OF cards : I will open the blue deck today. >:( >:(

@sxjy, I got another BLUE FO from a girl seller on Taiwan auctions with sweet price. She bought the deck because the deck is cute and she likes Original Fake clothing, but she is not a playing card collector after all -- when a non-collector owns a deck we want, we crafty SOB card collectors will get it from him/her anyway ???

Here we go, I would like to post the pics this afternoon (10:44pm now), but the forum was down then.

This deck is very very rare. Most tax stamp sealed decks we can find today are with the 10-cent or 1-pack stamps, it is very difficult to get a pre 10-cent deck that is unopened and in good conditoin. But why did you get the red one only? :o

@brown_baggs, no I didn't back the project but that doesn't mean I don't like this deck. I will try to get some later if possible. (I got no idea of how KS works until I backed the Tendril deck)

Hi Alex, would you mind showing the decks you resealed?

Actually I know the resealer and it is not expensive here (around 500 NTD), I guess it is made in China. One of my friends was very interested in it because he likes to perform memorized stack tricks (both Aronson and Tamariz stack), I don't know if he bought the resealer then. If you may show us some pics of the resealed decks, I will reconsider it if they look good enough. Thank you.

They have five different colors.
