They're not too expensive either! Thats a really unique deck!
Not too expensive before Jamie mentioned them :P
I got mine with $3.99 and $4.99 respectively.
These decks are vintage and unique, every single card is special and very interesting.

Same. Can anyone who has them give us a review on how they feel? Judging by the heavy price tag, I need to be consider them before getting them. I love the design though! Plus I have to find a reseller in Singapore too.
There are many Chinese reviews on these decks if you are interested. 'Cause I don't like them, I haven't noticed if there are English reviews (I guess there should be many if you treat Google as a good friend).

Thanks for letting us know!
Does anyone have the Fournier decks? I've heard mixed opinions about them and I don't own them.... yet.
Most of my friends have these decks. They are... (I don't know how to describe).. everything looks perfect, but I just don't like them.  :-\

My favourite deck, though, is in that bottle you see in the pic. It's a rare 1960's Ripley's Believe It Or Not deck. I've only seen less than a dozen in my life.
Should be these decks if I am not mistaken.

Wow. You are lucky to have these and to be able to make money on them!
It is not a matter of luck, nor did I get them from Santa Claus ::)
You have to explorer all the avenues and spend time, money, and efforts to get the good stuff you want. No one would come to knock your door and ask you take them.

Well, I guess there's no reason why he can't be your idol, but usually an idol is someone we look up to much more and for greater reasons. I don't know. Just my opinion.  :-X
hahaha...soulds like we have slightly different definitions of "idol"  ;)

@sxjy0109, I like Acorn Back much, it's so elegant. I think it's 1922-25 according to the tax stamp and the company name on the AoS. :)

@Collector, don't you know vmagic is my idol? >:(

Lol are you being sarcastic here?
No, he seems pretty serious! LOL
@digipunk - wait, why so?
I told many friends that the guy is funny. Perhaps I am not so serious about what he said on the forum, but I know he always has different thoughts from normal people and of course his posts often make me laugh (though some of them are ridiculous). Look at these advantages, why shouldn't he be my idol?! >:(
(sarcastic... maybe a little :-X )

Thank you, Kanped. It's a smooth transaction.

These decks were completely sold out in Japan 2 weeks ago, they are no more available. I mean now the only way to get them is go to eBay, and buyers have to compete with each other.

Actually I charged $5 for shipping 2 decks worldwide if you read my post on UC (and I paid another $1.5 for the "registered" option in order to track the package). OK, PM me if interested.

*** I modifid the title from "Friars Club" to "Bicycle Holiday" ***

I posted this set yesterday on UC, but only one man contacted me and he wanted to trade. So now I have to try here.
Now I have one more set for sale. It was ordered by a member here but he now has some difficulties with the payment. If you are interested in these decks, please PM me. I am in Taiwan, please let me know where you are in the PM. The total price for this set is $40 plus $6.5 postage (registered airmail), in other words, $46.5 in total.

Please note that the ORANGE decks are sealed and in perfect condition, but the remaining DARK BLUE ones have some scratches on them. They are sold as is.

Playing Card Plethora / Re: NEW DECK -- Bicycle Rosefinch
« on: February 09, 2012, 10:53:02 AM »
This series has most profound Chinese style so far. Even Chinese, not everyone can well explain these 2 animals and unfortunately I think the names, "Rosefinch" and "Black Warrior", are both poor translation that might mislead people.

@sxjy0109, do you really think "朱雀" means "Rosefinch"? Wasn't it "Phoenix" in ancient China? How could a little bird match the dragon and tiger ???

"玄武" is very very difficult to be expressed in other languages (even in Chinese it is hard), but obviously "Black Warrior" is far away from its original meaning.

@sxjy0109, yes, so do I think. "Black Warrior" is a poor translation.

I found these pages, they provide better explaination of "The 4 Celestial Animals" in ancient China:

LOL I remember those boxes that people used as magic props and tease little kids. Good times...
Yes, but this delicately crafted handmade box is designed for magic:

That's too bad! It would have been awesome to see some Kaws faces on those court cards! Such a talented artist and it would have made for such a great deck!
Yes, but it is comprehensible. We all know they were gifts with each purchase in excess of ¥10,000 JPY at OriginalFake Aoyama, not designed for performers or collectors.

So you meant leather card cases instead of clips. Too late, jmrock just sold one:

I don't use clips, actually I hate clips. >:( >:(

Every time I saw people talking about clips, I thought they were cool. As a result I tried to get 2 Devo's Blade Clips (that was limited to 50 in the world and sold out for his members before they were released to the public. I stole 2 of them like a thief because I was not a member...) with the hope that I would be as cool as those people.

It was my first time using a card clip, 10 minutes later I decided to sell them to one of my good friends with the actual price I'd paid. I hate clips!!

@Digipunk does the Original Fake deck have custom court cards? This has been one question that has always bothered me but I've never been able to find pictures of the court cards before.
Good question. Unfortunately they don't have custom court cards. There are 1 regular joker, 2 custom jokers, and 1 blank face gaff. These cards were not made with quality stock, handled just like 808 produced by the KY factory in their first year, soft and thin. They can not fan well due to the coating, but no problem with faro or other magic sleights.

Ahh... I used the blank face card to make a double backer :o
