That is pretty cool.

+1 for all that work.

This offer from Coterie is specially good for people outside the US. You know, we are kind of used to high S&H prices. The total price from Coterie, in other hand, make it really worth it buying larger quantities.

I'm also very pleased by the opportunity to grab a few Coterie Bees as well.

I've been doing charity work for around 5 years now, still, I don't get what does it has to do with being selected to get some free decks.

If you're doing it because you want to feel somehow helpful or benevolent, well, sell your decks the best way you can and donate it all to an organization of your choice. That would be more effective.

That 4 of Spades is so BBM.

I hope you guys don't mind I'm voting just for the 'Best' categories:

Best Back: Mana
Best Fronts: Bohemia
Best Customization: Aurum
Best Jokers: Ghoul Note
Best Box: Red JAQK
Best Ace of Spades: Artisans
Most Worth The Hype: Seasons
Best price value: Split Spades Sliver Edition (upon release)

P.S.: I'm not sure if Mana is a 2011 or 2012 deck. Since it was announced on late 2011 and released in 2012. Well?

? ? ?  I don't understand the reference.  I know it's from Game of Thrones, but I haven't watched or read it.

I'm attaching the sigils of House Baratheon (the stag) and House Stark (the direwolf), so you can get the reference.

@Tuck box

Baratheon vs. Stark.

This had potential, but it's so poorly done I even regret have taken a closer look. It's not even symmetrical or aligned.

It's probably going to be a very successful funding, though. All because of the theme picked.

Damn, that tuckbox... that back design...  :(

Oh bloody hell... The only colour that I'd like is if they were dressed in white. I'm not being racist

I'm not sure if you were making a joke there, but I laugh out loud anyways. Hahaha.

Shouldn't the price for 3 decks be a little lower considering the price for 1 deck?

I mean, paying $39 for 3 decks is the same as buying 3 decks separately, since each one is $13, and shipping is included.

Just saying.

You were right. We were using Opera to update that stupid KS page and the first tier didn't update like the rest.
SO we are first giving every single 6.00 pledge a free art print as a thank you for jumping in with a higher than normal shipping cost. I am going through all those rewards with a fine toothed comb again. I really appreciate all you guys help.

Wow, that is awesome and kind of unexpected.

I was uncertain about increasing my pledge and getting 2 decks on the early bird tier because of the escalating costs on shipping.

Thanks for taking my post into consideration. I just hope this doesn't get much onerous on you for domestic pledges.

Edit: by the way, I think this topic should be moved to Playing Card Plethora, right?

For International backers who are looking to buy 2 decks at the early bird price ($6 + $6 + $10), the price would be the same as buying from the DOUBLE DOOM tier ($15 + $7).

Problem here is the pricing method for international shipping at the early bird tier.

Top-shelf deck: a display in its own way, delicate, probably not something you want to squish into a plastic case.

(...)

He chose the deck that wasn't a display of its own, and was the next step down in box quality/price.

Ok, thinking about the top-tier deck as a "display on its own" makes the option for the mid-level deck more plausible.

Still, it's odd that the rarest edition isn't the one featured into the display cases. Specially when you consider the difference in price and rarity between those two versions of Aurum.

I noticed that Paul has been very meticulous about the release of Aurum. This is a hell of a nice deck, man. Congrats!

The one thing I didn't get and think can probably become an issue in the future is: why put the mid-level deck into the Lucite Display Cases?.

I agree with KPopFever605 on his review of the deck features. Although, considering the theme referenced, I was expecting this deck to be much brighter.

Dark color decks and expensive tuck boxes seem to be a trend, anyway.

If you're referring to the backs, well - blue and white isn't exactly hard to find.

If you're referring to the fronts, where some cards have partially erased/worn off indices or pips, and where the courts have some kind of color smear thing going on...  that would be harder to find FOR A REASON.

I was referring to both the back AND the front, yes. I liked what the artist did with the courts, despite knowing it makes the deck deviate even more from it's supposed theme.

It doesn't enhance either the beauty or the function.

"Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man." (The Dude)

I agree with you guys on the theme being vaguely referenced, but i just loved the colors on this deck.

I have to say that this one looks more heraldic than the Heraldry Deck.

The deck is gorgeous and unique, indeed. The aesthetics is alluring and I'm sure backing it (and yeah, I'll grab that one nice t-shirt too).

Still, I'm impressed by the amount of attention and backers this project was able to gather (and is still gathering), specially considering the crowded recent scenario on KS.

I noticed this is the only deck allocated into the Graphic Design category, over the traditionally used Board & Card Games category. Can this possibly be the reason for the mentioned phenomenon?

If all a collector is looking for is "rare" and "limited", of course they'll be disappointed - but it has more to do with their mindset than the actual deck release.

The deck is still just as rare as before - only 5,000 to be made.  A fraction of them will be all fancified with a special sticker seal and pretty box.  Personally, I see no reason to freak out if you're in it for the cards, 'cause whatever's in the fancy box will also be exactly what's in the not-so-fancy box.  If you think the box makes it worth extra to you, knock yourself out and have a blast, get all the fancy boxes you want.  If not, then you'd be perfectly happy backing it just for the "basic" box.

When did rarity become a measurement of happiness?  'Cause it's not a very good one, really.

First of all, don't get me wrong, Don. It's not like I'm removing my pledge or anything because of this. And yes, I'm on it for the cards and I never even considered buying the Foil version, because I'd rather buy 2 extra decks for that same price.

On the other hand, I'm fond of the use of foil tuck cases for playing cards. 4PM Designs can perfectly and probably will make good use of it, but to call this 'foil tuck version' limited is ludicrous, IMHO.

My criticism is headed to the misuse of the term "limited edition" for this specific version of the deck. As you all know, Mythos: Necronomicon is already a limited run of 5000, so it's formerly what one would describe as _LIMITED_. The word 'limited' appeals directly to collectors in search of something unique or rare, and it's not exactly what you may get from this foil version.

On my last post I made some simple math to point that the ratio of "limited" to "standard" would be 3:7. So, 3 in every 10 is a "limited" version, and 7 in every 10 is "standard". If you are collector concerned about rarity, be warned that "limited" here doesn't really mean you're getting something that is by all means what we're used to see called as limited.

If you're on it because it really appeals to you and it seems worth the price, go ahead and get you some foil versions.

Well, I really like this deck - specially the back design - but I don't like where the new update heads to.

Limited edition of 1500 on an already limited run of 5000? I'm sorry but that doesn't make any sense to me.

That would leave us with 1500 "limited" and 3500 "standard" decks. Even in terms of rarity, 1 out of 3.33 isn't exactly rare.

It all reads like forcing up the deck's price on the expense of collector's desire of something that looks to be limited.

So if I pledge $49 for the early backer, will I get one deck, or seven?

From what I understand, by pledging $49 on that level you'll get 1 deck ($7) plus 5 decks ($8 each), and still have $2 left.

So, if you're looking to get 7 decks, you should pledge for $55.
