Yes sir. Picked up 6 decks yesterday!

Looking for Red and Green Gatorbacks by David Blaine. 1 deck of each. Willing to pay cash or trade for the decks. I currently live in Fort Mill, South Carolina.

Thanks!

Does there happen to be a list of all David Blaine Decks with all colors anywhere on the forums? I have been absent from collecting the past couple years and would like to see a complete list of every deck David Blaine has come out with including all the colors. Thanks and much appreciated!

They are available again on David's site. Snag a set while you still can. I just placed my order!

Introduce Yourself / Re: Hey, nice to meet all of you!

Hey guys! Figured I'd hop on and pick up where I left off. I was a regular user on here for 2 or 3 years but haven't been on since. Glad to see this forum is still here and everyone is still enjoying and collecting playing cards. I haven't been on here or collected a single deck since 2014 I believe. Nursing school, family, a fiance', and relocating to Little Rock and now Charlotte has taken a lot of time and money away from me and this expensive hobby. I feel like I am in a good place to start collecting again but not as aggressive as before. I am excited to explore the 2015 and 2016 release list to see what's come out since then. I have also just started adding my collection from an excel spreadsheet to Portfolio 52 which is pretty cool. Hope all is well with everyone and I'm sure you will start seeing me around here more often. Thanks!

Plenty more cases and materials out there guys. Google is your friend.

I could use quite a few of these. They are nice but way way way too expensive. The cases are worth more than the decks I want to put in them. Kind of doesn't seem right, does it?

Decks are paper and cardboard, the cases are Lucite, steel & and aluminum. Steel costs more than paper, also someone has to make them by hand your cards get printed by a machine. If I sold them for $7.95 then I would be selling them.

Food for thought: You might be putting the wrong decks in the cases then.
Good to know the process and material it takes to make these. They are nice but to each his own. I'm sure many of us have $30, $40 or $50 decks that we love and cherish. But IMO I would never buy a single case that is worth more than the deck I want to put in it. I just got done remodeling my kitchen and wanted to buy a new fridge that looked modern and fit the design. That doesn't mean I'm gonna be Kanye West and go buy a Swarovski encrusted fridge because all I am going to be putting in it is milk, eggs, juice etc... And I don't think I would be wrong in putting those items that cost much less inside of it either. Again, this is just my opinion and I am throwing it out there. Nice looking cases though.

Awesome display bro! Feel proud to display such awesome decks that you own!  8)

Well, I have to confess: I'm not very interested on this deck. Call me crazy but I'm unable to like it. I'm not saying it's ugly but I can't back it (I will probably regret it).
That makes 2 of us. Thanks for posting your thoughts.

Maybe its just me but these decks do nothing for me. I do like how the box was designed for the Limited Editions. But the back designs and especially the courts just aren't attractive to me. I usually keep to myself and don't say anything when a deck comes out that I don't care for. But I felt like voicing my opinion this time.

Congrats to all those that got this deck funded super quick. I was truly shocked how fast it got funded.  :)

These look like wonderful decks. But I am perfectly content with all the originals that I have. If you by chance don't own the originals then I would highly recommend picking these up!

1,100?? I've seriously gotta step up my game!
lol It takes time. I remember feeling the same way when I only had a handful of decks and everybody else had hundreds. In the end though it doesn't matter how many you have. All that matters is that you have a collection of playing cards that you love and adore. Every deck tells a story.

I personally don't use software but I do use a spreadsheet on excel to keep track of my collection of over 1,100 decks.  :)

Bill, what is your ballpark estimate for how many decks you have all together?

I'm afraid I don't know. Too many is the only accurate answer. If you count the decks I've saved from my production as well as the decks I've collected (en masse sometimes). I might have 25k. It sounds insane...

If you ever need help cataloguing you could round up a group from the forum and we could have a get together haha.
I'll bring the beer.

Playing Card Plethora / Re: Most Expensive Deck Opened
« on: January 26, 2014, 04:42:53 PM »
As some of you have seen already seen based on my pics I submitted of my collection in the past, some of you asked if I was a hoarder. lol No, I am not a hoarder. It may look like that due to the fact that companies like E, T11, D&D, Blue Crown, etc... like to offer promotions where you buy a brick of these and you get a FREE RARE DECK!!! I have fell victim to this many, many, many times. So yeah, I might have 24 decks of Black Arcane playing cards or 19 decks of Blue Artifice playing cards or 35 decks of Silver Split Spades.........(why do I have 35 decks of Silver Split Spades???)

Anywho, the most expensive deck I have ever opened cost me $5.95. On Ebay it has been selling anywhere from $75 - $110 a deck. I just so happen to have 23 of these decks still sealed and have yet to be open. That deck would be..............S&M V1.

I'm surprised no one mentioned "13 Steps to Mentalism" by Corinda. This is usually one of the first books people will recommend for getting into mentalism. It was my first book and I found it very useful and informative.

To jmrock, do they still print Steamboat decks? I know the Bucks released reprints last year or so but when was the last time a Steamboat deck was printed? I've only ever seen vintage ones.

To Jackson, that is a killer deck! But I thought Congress only made one way back designs? And what does the writing on the box say? Someone's name perhaps?
The box is the coolest part. Are there any other decks with wooden boxes like that?

To Tom (that is who operates the 52+Joker account, right?), can you give a little more information on Dougherty decks? Was it a brand by the USPCC like Steamboat and Congress? Or it's own separate entity? The different companies within companies that joined together is rather confusing to me.
Also, is that eagle image the ace of spades? Is it a close up because I don't see any indices?

Sorry for all of the questions, but like I've said many times, I just want to learn more. And anyone is free to answer, I was just addressing each person's deck so this post would be a little easier to understand.
Hey, don't  feel bad. I know there are others including myself who would also like these questions answered as well. Just like you I don't know anything about vintage decks. That's why you, me, and everyone else come to the discourse to show are decks, talk about playing cards and learn as much as we can about this hobby. So keep asking questions.  :)

Thanks CBJ. I got mine in July/August and they do in fact have the embossing and foil. Just wanted to make sure.

Then why did Rick over at theory 11 just say if you buy a brick (12 decks) then you earn 12 tokens. Just calling it how I see/read it.
