Big update to the project today fellas. We reached our final stretch goal and now the Raspberry Mint deck is unlocked! (see the picture below). Here is a summary of all of the stretch goals we were able to smash through to help us OVER deliver on this project and create the absolute best deck we possibly can.

  • Custom Seal UNLOCKED - Each deck will come with a beautiful seal to fasten the box.
  • Embossed Box UNLOCKED - The box will feature intricate embossed texture.
  • Box Foiling UNLOCKED - shimmering foiled accents to give the box that extra pop.
  • Traditionally Cut cards UNLOCKED - Traditionally cut for perfect faro shuffling.
  • Limited Edition Deck UNLOCKED - The Limited Edition Black Mint is available exclusively to Kickstarter backers. These will not be fore sale after the project campaign is over. They feature a borderless design with an aesthetic gold line pattern.
  • Interior Box Design UNLOCKED - The INSIDE of the box printed with a beautiful foiled Mint pattern. This requires an additional die and an extra step of production, but we think it's well worth it.
  • RASPBERRY MINT UNLOCKED - This is the really BIG one. We hit our $90,000 stretch goal which means we are getting the next edition of The Mint Collection printed now! The tasty Raspberry Mints have all of the same features as the Black Mint deck, but it comes in a beautiful shade of red. Backers of the Kickstarter project will get to decide how many Black Mints and how many Raspberry Mints they would like to get with their pledged money at the end of the campaign. See the photo below to get a preview of the Raspberries!

Playing Card Plethora / Black Mint Playing Cards now live on Kickstarter

Hey PCF,

We launched the Black Mint deck earlier today on KS and it got completely funded in 39 minutes! Check out the project and let me know what you think of the cards. If they look familiar it's because they used to be called the Rion playing cards from Jon Noir. Jon Noir has merged with 52Kards and we are proud to finally release them as a part of the Mint Collection.

Hey Playing Card Forum!

Just wanted to pop in and let you all know that Jon Noir has merged with 52Kards, and we will be launching this deck through Kickstarter on February 1st! The deck has been rebranded and is now called the Black Mint deck. You can find more info and join the waitlist here - http://52kards.com/mint

I'd be happy to answer any questions about the project.

Magical Cardistry Bonanza / Re: so this new D&D closeup pad...
« on: June 05, 2014, 04:22:35 AM »
Call me a sucker, but I ended up buying one. I wanted to get a professional surface to improve the production value of my videos and this was the best one I could find. I ended up having a pretty poor customer experience. Their product description says that it takes at most 5 days to process the order; mine took almost 2 weeks. When it finally arrived, I opened it up to find that it was the wrong color (I ordered red, it came in green). They offered to pay for the return shipment and making me a new one, but I didn't want to go through the whole waiting process again. I liked how the green one looked anyways.

One of the major selling points for this pad was that in the product description it says that "has a removable felt top so that repair or replacements can easily be made." It makes it sound as if there is a design feature that allows replacements to be made, but this is simply not true. When I contacted their support team for instructions on how to replace the felt top, this is the response I received:

"Be very careful as we are not responsible for any damage to the pad whilst trying to change or remove the pad but...
Pop one of the feet off of the bottom, drill a small hole in the center of where that rubber foot was and push pad up with the drill bit
Those are instructions from our worker who makes the pads."

At the end of the day, I was looking for a close up pad that looks good on camera, so it serves my purpose. However, I wouldn't exactly recommend it for others as it is indeed overpriced.

Playing Card Plethora / Re: Playing Card Buying Websites
« on: August 28, 2012, 01:58:13 AM »
I setup a page for buying cards on my website @ http://www.52kards.com/store
This page aggregates the decks being sold on ebay and displays them on one page where you can sort them by price and listing date. You can also search for specific decks and compare the prices of different sellers to make sure you are getting the best deal. All in all, it makes shopping for cards on ebay a smoother process. Enjoy!

Playing Card Plethora / Who is your favorite Ebay card seller and why?

It seems like a lot of folks get their cards from ebay. Out of the big players, who do you think is the best (prices, shipping, selection, customer service, etc)?
