Kings Wild Shorts: June 2020: General Admission
https://youtu.be/W5K8l_E_4R0
The design inspiration for this unique deck came from Jackson's draw towards vintage ticket stubs from the early 20th century. Printed by EPCC, the semi-gloss tuck case resembles the layout of a ticket stub, including the gate number, section, row, and seat, which hide an Easter Egg for those who follow Jackson's design themes closely. The complex back design plays along the same lines, adding design elements resembling some of Kings Wild's currency decks, along with the iconic logo.

Kings Wild Shorts: March 2020: Postage Paid
https://youtu.be/EbWeHzy9gyU
The Postage Paid deck was originally inspired by a close playing card collector friend named Joseph Pierson. Joseph has one of the most extensive and diverse playing card collections in the world. On Joseph's Instagram feed, he posted images of playing cards from the early 20th century that were written on and sent as postcards. Using cast-off playing cards was a common occurrence before the post office made the minimum size of a parcel 4"x 6". This collection of playing card "postcards" sparked the idea in my brain as I wanted to see the rest of the cards in the incomplete deck Joseph had managed to piece together over the years.
Each card in my Postage Paid deck and also in Joseph's postcard collection features a stamp and also postal address of the recipient of the card.
As a special feature of the deck, I asked all of the Kings Wild Shorts subscribers to send in a fictitious address that meant something to them so that they could be immortalized within the deck in their own special way.
Each card also has a traditional style "postage paid" stamp, canceling out the postage stamp. All 50 states are present with a city representing the state.

The Latin phrase Verum Videre translated means "See the Truth"
Verum Videre issues in a new chapter for Kings Wild Project. One of my goals is to be able to be more self-sufficient in the total production process of making my playing cards. I do this in an effort to create the most personal and bespoke playing cards possible. I also do this because of a Biblical principal and verse that I have adopted as a mission statement for both my life and business.

Invocation Platinum
https://youtu.be/bLrGQh2W5OI

The Inspiration for this project has been an interesting one. So many of my decks in the past have centered around a theme or a specific moment in History. Because of this, I have always had historical characters to feature in my decks depending on the theme.

For this project, the beginnings were a little bit different. Many times between projects I will spend a few days just gathering reference and pouring over tons of beautiful images of art and other things that I might find inspiration from.

As I was searching for a creative direction for a new project, a song began to play on my playlist that really caught my attention. My wife sometimes calls me a nerd in my choice of music. I enjoy listening to all types of music but when I am working I seem to find the most focus listening to instrumental music from cinema, games, and other types of media.

This song captivated me, and it was the catalyst for the entire project. I put it on repeat and listened to it to all day while creating a completely new set of court cards from the images of, what I would describe as a mixture of Sci-Fi and Fantasy. The designs that transpired over the course of the day were promising to me, and most of very different from any of my previous work.

The title of the deck was actually derived from the title of the song that sparked it, Invocation.

Equinox 1 v2 Reprint

The Equinox I - 2019 Standard Edition is a luxury reprint of the first deck of the Kings Wild Shorts Subscription service that launched a year ago in September. For the 2019 edition, both the card manufacturer and tuck case manufacturer were upgraded to EPCC (cards) and Clove St. Press (Tuck Case) to give the Equinox I the same luxurious fit and finish as the Equinox II deck had in March.

@Don

It also mentions this in all of the single standard deck tiers. Hope that clears it up.

Copied from one of the tiers:

"With this tier, you will receive one standard style set of Intaglio Playing Cards. The Blue Edition will be commercially offset printed by The Expert Playing Card Company, and feature a traditional blue on white back design."

Playing Card Plethora / Re: Black Diamond Tally-Ho [KS]
« on: November 22, 2015, 12:51:26 AM »
Considering that Jacks and Jokers is already making similar apparel, I'm surprised Jackson managed to finagle this deal - but it's a good deal, to be sure.  I noticed that Jackson's "Tally Ho" is the one from the Ace of Spades, while the one used by Jacks and Jokers is the one from the tuck box.  I'm thinking the individual licenses extend to specific designs as opposed to a blanket license covering any or several of their brands.

I have a license to use any and every United States Playing Card Company mark that I would like. Jacks and Jokers held an exclusive for over 2 or 3 years but the power of the Kings Wild ;) was able to get them not to renew that when their contract was up. Now only Jacks and Jokers AND Kings Wild can do it. (And my shirts are much cheaper.)

I can use Bicycle, KEM, Hoyal, Tally-Ho, Bee, Aviator ect. I hope to give Jacks and Jokers a little run for their money. I also plan to take the vintage art and use it as inspiration to create my own new branded art.

So this is what I see (below) and why I consider this a recolor. I don't consider the first KW Tally-Ho as part of this collection, and maybe that is a mistake on my part. The decks are even named by color.

(I apologize for the crappy MS paint draft-up, but I think you get the idea. Obviously I'm not a golfer)

And I do want to stress the unbelievable respect and appreciation I have for Jackson and the entire KW brand, these decks are no exception.

... there is nothing I hate more as a card designer than a recolor. ...
I don't mean to be rude, and I hope I am not offending you.

I'm really sorry but it is useless at this point to argue about this topic any further. There are so many design elements and principals you are missing and deleting by just creating large circles over 90% of my design. I'm not offended at all. Each one of the these designs has a different design languages. The shapes and forms are different, the rithym and flow is different. The scale and size of those shapes is composed differently. They each take their shape ques from that overarching suite that represents each deck. IE Scarlett/Spades, Emerald/Clubs, Diamonds/Diamonds, ect. If you believe that my designs are in the same ball park as the 11th recolor of the madison decks then we will always disagree... and that ok. No hard feelings.

Apologies but did the entire thread for the Black Diamond Tally Hos just get hijacked and renamed "What is a re-color"?

If so poor form Playing Card Forum.
