So it's homecoming week at my highschool and I HATE homecoming/prom. There is a girl who hates school dances as much as I do, and since we were going to have an anti-homecoming last year that fell through at the last second, I still make fun of her for being a flake as a result. Anyway, today I was playing with my new carbon copies in AP Music Theory since Isaac had just barely brought them to me. She took interest and asked to see the deck. After I gave her a brief explanation of Dan and Dave and the world of cards, she asked if I knew any good tricks. So I used some basic distractions and false cuts for a typical "is this your card?" trick and pulled it off nicely. Later that day during lunch I bought two decks of blue bicycles. I took the ace of hearts out of one of the decks and wrote "Anti-Homecoming...Again?" on it before placing it on the top of the other deck's ace of hearts. I managed to catch her right before she left school and told her I had just learned a new card trick and needed her opinion. So I pulled a basic card force which made her choose the blank ace of hearts out of the deck and when she had memorized it, I had her place it right on top of the other (marked) ace of hearts, which was on top of the deck. I farro'd the cards into a pretty decent looking grate fan as a distraction and then once I had riffled that back into a deck (which most people confuse for shuffling) I brought it into a butterfly cut and when that was over I used a double-lift off the top of the deck so that the ace of hearts with the message on it was revealed out of the deck and asked "Is this your card?" to which i received the reply "Yes". Just a little tale to keep in mind should other magicians and cardists on this forum look to get creative.
