Playing Card Plethora / Magician Knows by 808 Playing Cards Co.
« on: August 26, 2016, 09:48:28 AM »
Hi everyone,

I would like to introduce a new deck to all of you, and especially those who do magic.

"Magician Knows" is an amazing magician themed deck was designed by 808 Playing Cards Co. from Taiwan and illustrated by the creator of "Mix" - Li Min.

This is a fully customized deck, each and every card, the two Jokers and the tuck case, all of them illustrated a different idea or joke of magic, concepts ranging from close up, stage manipulation to grand illusion magic. It is an understatement to say much thoughts have went into the design and making of this deck.

If you are a magician or a magician hobbyist, we guarantee this deck will impress you by the creative ways of how these concepts were illustrated and that you will have tremendous fun guessing the idea from all the different illustrations.

Designed and Made in Taiwan
A full customized deck: 52 cards, 2 Jokers, Tuck Case, Closure Seal
Comes in pair of Black & White and Spectrum

Playing Card Plethora / The TAA Playing Cards from Coterie1902.com
« on: June 30, 2016, 09:21:47 AM »
Hi everyone,

Hope everything around you guys super.

It's been nearly over a year since we last released anything new on Coterie, this is mainly because we've had too many other projects that have been keeping us busy.

We did, however, share our know how with TAA: The Ace Assembly, which is a group of elite Hong Kong magicians for this new release

The TAA Playing Cards - Poetry of Conjuring.

This is a limited edition of 1000 decks, printed in Taiwan, same texture and feel akin to Empire Keeper Playing Cards.

Designed by the same artist that brought you The Amour Deck.

Available now at : http://coterie1902.com/products/playing-cards/taa-playing-cards

We have some major new releases coming up from our own as well, so keep an eye on what's new with us.

Best,

Zenneth

Playing Card Plethora / The One Playing Cards @ Coterie1902
« on: July 27, 2015, 05:16:36 AM »
Hi everyone,

I would like to introduce a deck of cards that is called The One Deck.
Made by LPCC in China, artwork by Stuart Palm, released by The One Entertainment.
A limited edition of 1000 decks, a few hundred of them are currently released through us per a special arrangement.

This deck is primarily designed for the magic artists at The One Entertainment to use in their shows, not exactly targeted at general sales.

Quality of the cards is similar to the Taiwan made decks, but more paper-ish.
I think LPCC might have located the same manufacturer as the Pr1me deck, because the tuck case texture certainly looks like it but I am not 100% sure.

It's now available at our store.

Thanks,
Zenneth

They look great Zenneth, can't wait to get them........and photograph them :)

haha..much appreciated for your support, but it's a bit difficult to autograph this deck due to the gold foil and embossing on tuck case...

Previously we have been very focus on the sales of Amour Magic Collection, which is a romantic themed magic set for adults and beginners of magic.

The set has taken us very long time to develop and we also want it to go out to public instead of just to magicians,
that's why we have been concentrated on other forms of promotions such as T.V. interviews, arranging lectures with my corporate clients, etc,.

It's very rewarding but also very time consuming, so our team haven't had enough time to follow up on the custom deck projects.

On top of all these, the luxury edition of Amour deck itself has also encountered quite a few technical difficulties to manufacture,
we made several printing experiments and graphics have been altered several times too.
When you compare the graphic of luxury edition to the original red edition, you'll spot all the differences.

Anyhow, it's a tremendous satisfaction to overcome all the difficulties and we are very happy about the end product.

I use this deck on a product launch party for a very high end furniture brand (the white house is using some of their products),
even the designers from this company were intrigued by it.

I am sure you'll be impressed by it too!

Hey guys,

A quick heads up for our new release the Amour Playing Cards Luxury Edition.

It has been taking us very long time for all the modification and experiments to get the luxury edition done.

Also some lucky draw prizes and special offers were prepared for this release, the first 100 customers place order with us will be automatically eligible for the lucky draw, so if you like this deck then you may wish to act quick.

Thanks again for the support in advance!

Cheers,

That's for bringing this to everyone here...

Amour Magic Collection has been taking us more than 1 and half year to perfect it.

It's a magic set that features several romantic themed magic effects, we have devised both the easy and intermediate method for every props in this collection, so it fits both beginner and professional.

Amour deck is a collaboration between our team and a very talented Hong Kong graphic designer - Cash Ip. You can expect there are more collaboration projects coming up between us.

Amour is not exactly a gaff deck on it's own, but I did pre-install several cards that are related to items in this collection, which are also very versatile for other magical applications.

We do need to apologize for the delay in launch. For the last few months, I had a very occupied schedule for commercial shows, lectures for magicians and my corporate clients, so we have been very busy with the sales of this collection offline. That's how we missed the best timing to launch it online for Valentine's Day. Though, it's never too late to get it for other occasions of the year =)

In fact, even by now we still in the process of preparing materials for the real launch and promotion of this collection.

News related to this collection will keep coming.

Cheers,
Zenneth

Looks although these are now available in addition to Fatboy V3's.

There is a also a promotional brick deal containing White and Black Fan Backs, limited to 40 numbers, set at $135.

http://www.coterie1902.com/products

For those interested in the Gold Seal New Fan Backs in white and black, there's a better deal: for every $100 you spend on other stuff, you can buy a matched pair for $25.  The black one's not impossible to find and still fairly cheap, but the white one's a tough nut to crack - due to a factory error (according to the ad copy), they made 5,000 black decks but only 1,000 white decks, making it one of the rarer modern decks out there.  It usually sells alone for $100, plus or minus.

Thanks for the detailed elaboration.

Actually, even Black New Fan Back is hard to get these days...

Today I have just engaged into a conversation with a friend of mine, and he talked about how much he wishes the same hand feel and durability could be duplicated.

Black & Purple won by majority in the opinion poll 8)

Hey Marcus,

Hope things go around you well.

Actually I have wanted to create a different card clip design with Porper, but I'll probably get back onto this project some point next year.

Zenneth

12
Yup, really is just the same design as the previous edition, except we asked for higher quality and made reveal card changes.

Thanks for the recommendations!

13
Hey guys,

We have just made a card clip available at our store, it's called Metal Jacket and designed for magician use for street magic or roving shows.

Metal Jacket is a card clip that allows you to perform Card Blister effect with ease.

The first edition was sold out a few years ago, and we are happy to bring them back again with higher quality and better price.

Available here:

Hey guys,

I have made two videos with Triplus to show some basic applications of the QR card that comes with the Dark Diamond Playing Cards.
It's actually quite fun to play with.

Here's a performance video of one of the easiest magic applications.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a1ZkbARGqhQ&feature=youtu.be

In the explanation video there is more detailed introduction of the system and 1 more application.

Thanks,
Zenneth

Entwined Hearts is a commercialized item and I have been selling them for quite a few years already.
If they don't need to ask for permission to print this card, then can I print a deck that's completely identical to Bicycle Gaff Effect Deck and market it?

Guys,

A quick heads up for v.2 fatboy playing cards.

Stock level has come down to the last 300 decks and it will not be printed again.
If you ever interested in getting some, then consider this the last chance to restock or give it a shot.

Cheers,
Zenneth

Oh woah!!! It's by J.J. Abrams? I am actually a big fan of his works!
Now I feel pretty awesome to coincidentally release a deck on the same theme with him!

Playing Card Plethora / Re: Question Deck by Zenneth Kok
« on: February 26, 2014, 09:26:28 AM »
Hey guys,

Thanks a lot for the support, truly a big night for us as we are releasing four new items.

Sorry about the face and courts, we primarily design decks for magicians, so faces have to match double facers.

We'll do more creative faces and courts when we crossover with other brands.

There is no single deck choice, so you get equal amount of each color with this deck.

I will be doing an interview with kardify on the creative process of Question deck very soon, hope you guys will like it.

Cheers!
Zenneth

Hey guys,

Thanks for the support and nice words!

Very proud of the Question deck, while it doesn't have a fancy and intricate graphic design, but it's very different from all the decks that we have seen.

I am very fond of the idea of getting things personalized, that's why I designed Question deck this way.

All you have to do is fill in the blank on the tuck case to complete the phrase: " I ...therefore I am..." to express your own way of thinking and the deck could then serve as a constant reminder of your life values! (then again, the hard part is always deciding what to write...)

I wrote mine as "I live my dream therefore I am Zenneth Kok"...

I believe you guys will like this deck a lot...

Cheers,
Zenneth

Playing Card Plethora / Re: Dark Diamond deck from Zenneth Kok

Hope everything run around you guys well!

Thanks for the head up! A few corrections here:

Dark Diamond is a deck by Triplus, we should be hearing more about this brand/platform when the deck is officially available.

I didn't design this deck, so it's better if we could rename the topic as Dark Diamond deck by Triplus.

My participation is limited to consultation and arrangement of getting them available at Coterie1902 for international release. Triplus will take care of the sales of Dark Diamond deck in mainland China by themselves.

....and it's true that I am very very unlikely to do branded decks with USPCC again...

Yeah, I feel sorry about that too...

Both Skull & Bones and Coterie Bee really proved the point that it's not a good idea to modernize or customize USPCC designs.

Their attitude has been fluctuating in the entire 2013, one point they said they won't print Coterie Bee and then later they said they have the permission to do it but need us to fulfill their requirement of the use of Brand and card back design, just when you finish the design according to their requirement and they said no again and released a version that's clearly based on what you have done.

We will resurrect the Coterie Bee in a different form, after all, it has taken me over a year to create different themes and different gaff cards for each deck in the entire series, can't afford wasting all these time and effort. Definitely not with USPCC though.

22
Thanks for the heads up.

This is probably not the best way to handle the Gold Seal Coterie Bee deck, but we had to give up this series with USPCC, in fact, we will probably never do branded deck with USPCC again.

Playing Card Plethora / Re: (New Deck) Coterie 1902 - 2014?
« on: December 22, 2013, 12:31:33 AM »
It's done, on the way to Hong Kong and China right now...not our design but will be available on Coterie in very early 2014....
The success of Gold Edition Coterie Bee inspired a Bee craze in China, therefore we see a lot of customized Bee decks designs recently from China.

We would have been released more Coterie Bee decks (I probably have mentioned this at some point, but I designed different gaff cards and themes for each edition in Coterie Bee series in 2011)
Unfortunately, USPCC decided not to print Coterie Bee after Gold Edition, so we had to discontinue the series,
but somehow they released an edition of Blue Metallic Bee using the exact tuck case material and nearly the same Blue Coterie Bee card back/tuckcase design that we wanted to use,
kind of a similar situation to CARC's Skull and Bones...

We have some remaining credit at USPCC and decided to use them up for another Coterie deck that is coming in early 2014 as well...after that...hmm...

Playing Card Plethora / Re: Where to buy playing cards in Hong Kong
« on: November 20, 2013, 11:50:03 AM »
Already a lot of information are available here, though, to be honest, too many decks are being released these days, magic shops in Hong Kong tend to carry playing cards from major magic companies, but most of them are just easily accessible online as well. You may wish to go to convenience store or supermarket to pick up a few decks of "Rambler" deck, it's a USPCC release and they have a glit edge, I don't see them available in many other countries.

Hope this helps,
Zenneth

Playing Card Plethora / Re: 2nd Edition fatboys
« on: November 16, 2013, 10:08:18 AM »
WOW - that's FANTASTIC!  I'm very glad to hear that!  It's a difficult thing to accomplish - I once went from 225 lbs. (102.3 kg) down to 169 lbs. (76.8 kg), a loss of 56 lbs. (nearly 25.5 kg)!  I hope you manage to keep your new, trimmer self - your doctor will love you for it!  I had help keeping the weight off with regular martial arts practice - aikido was my art of choice.  To me, it was better than a gym or working out solo because you're in a more social environment, building camaraderie and learning something all at the same time - it makes it feel less like work, more like fun, and it's a fantastic confidence builder.

Perhaps you should have made a "slimboyworkoutallday" deck to go with it!  :))

Actually, even now I still think running and working out solo are boring, but I see that as yet another challenge to overcome.
Will keep working harder as I am a bit afraid that my weight will re bounce soon if I stop the workout and diet control now.

Benjam, all the court cards of v.2 fatboy have been simplified and altered, all the red color on this deck (including back and face) is the same one,
a bit of in between Rubine red and Rhodamine red...

Hope this helps.
