Sure. I'll give verbal credit at the start of the review. Just send me the info through direct message either here or Instagram and we are solid. No idea when I'll post a review as an FYI.

Playing Card Plethora / Aloha Pineapple Cards
« on: July 31, 2017, 09:38:47 PM »
Anyone know about these cards? I can't find anything on google about them.

I only know they were passed out at Cardistry Con 17 and they're made in Taiwan by the gentleman who made the Chicken Nuggets.

Like who printed it and what kind of stock/finish combo does it have? I'm clueless.

I want to review them without sounding like an idiot and if they're available elsewhere I'd like to link my subscribers there as they'll be asking where to get them.

There are no images, " we will not be showing any images of the deck here on Kickstarter. You'll know exactly what it looks like when you open it!! " I am not sure if this is the same deck??? http://www.playingcardforum.com/index.php?topic=4289.msg70517#msg70517

I'm not even sure why would people pledge for this deck.

"Here, give me money, and i'll give you a box of something." I'm sure they have done some decks before, but this is like...next level KS project...

I'm just going to say this. I know the project creator personally. He genuinely cares about what he puts out and makes sure the design and art are poster perfect. He is also a cardist and tends to design his cards with cardistry in mind as well as having the cards functional for card games.
He did another project just like this, called Galaxy Cards Infinity edition and everyone received the cards were very surprised, doubly surprised with what they received because it exceeded their expectation. It was like unwrapping a holiday gift from an old friend, and getting something amazing you did not expect.

A solid deck designed for throwing. It's easier to get faster spins with this deck versus paper cards for a beginner, resulting in more confidence.
The cards are made of plastic so it is possible for the card to chip when thrown hard at wood, bricks, or children's teeth.

Title says it all. To make this video relevant to the thread, I recommend most decks and I do not recommend some decks as a deck reviewer.

Deck Reviews! / Re: Battle 45: Seasons by Alex Chin vs Mana by Erik Mana
« on: September 28, 2013, 02:10:38 PM »
Mana wins for me. The box is cooler and the cards are easier on the eyes.

I love both versions, and editions, and colors of the seasons but not as much as the mana.

The Mana deck is shinier than the Seasons and  I like that  8)

Artifice

The cartoon courts are not of my tastes in the vaudeville deck

Their mini deck's far surpass the USPCC's mini manufacturer plant.

I'm nearly positive USPC farms out the minis to a third-party company.

thats what I meant. What ever the uspcc is using for minis, some place at china, is pretty crappy compared to the minis AlienInk made their last project.

I have a deck of the mini flowers deck and it is superb for fans as far as minis go

Alienink's third deck design.

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/alienink/gc-2e-ninja-funding

Featuring custom traditional pips along with brand new artwork of the 4 celestial bodies, featured from the original galaxy cards, as the aces and court cards.
The kickstarter offers mini decks and 100% plastic playing cards as well as mini uncuts and standard uncuts.

It's a cool deck in my opinion. I dig the back design a lot. The quality of their mini decks are also great as seen from their last project, Flowers. Their mini deck's far surpass the USPCC's mini manufacturer plant.

A deck that's good for cardistry, magic, and gaming that will last for 2 years? That's a harsh requirement..

I recommend bicycle masters edition. I've been buying one deck once a year for 4 years so I can vouch for them. I don't know how the Erlanger decks handle as I've never came across any. The art is only basic though. I think all masters are all Ohio made still? Not sure, last one I got at April was Ohio but I got the deck from a local magic shop.

Otherwise get monarchs or artisans cause they handle and look good

Deck Reviews! / Re: First Round: Dr. Leon vs. Bicycle Actuators
« on: May 27, 2013, 03:36:55 PM »
They're both completely different decks. I don't see the point of this match up.

I prefer the dr Leon deck because I feel the faces on the actuators are too novelty looking.

I do love the backs of the actuators but IMO the Leon deck has a good balance between backs and faces

When I think good smooth decks, only three come to mind; Cincinnati Arrcos, reprint Cincinnati Steamboats, and streamlines any plant.

You're kidding, right?  I have some Chinese-made Streamlines - only thing worse from USPC would be the Mavericks, also Chinese-made.  American-made ones are great, and I hear the Spanish ones are as well.  And no love for the Aladdins?  Or any Ivory Finish CARC deck?

I've never used aladdins nor any ivory finish carc decks. Makes it hard to recommend them if I never used them.

For streamlines I meant either Ohio or Kentucky. I do have several Chinese streamlines and they're not too bad, definitely the worst deck in this discussion, but they're not end of the world bad. I can provide pics of it

The 5 decks I recommend are:

Shadow Masters - The worst handling of the 5 for flourishing but a classic of custom cards. Fans are easiest out of the 5 though.

Artifice Purple - Less slippery than the Shadow masters but have very smooth, sharp edges. The purple was a pretty good run but the finish oddly wears out pretty quick.

Monarchs - The best handling deck out of the 5. One of my favorite ten decks mainly for the handling alone.

Artisans - Stiffer than the monarchs but fans the worst out of the 5 but eventually fans better than the purple artifice.

Archangels - They're really good but the life of the deck is super short unfortunately.

These are all based off my opinion.

Playing Card Plethora / Fathom deck question
« on: May 17, 2013, 05:53:13 PM »
I've got what may be a silly question but here goes.

Is the fathom deck by ellusionist USPCC? I have a subscriber arguing with me that its not uspcc. He says its it's not because ellusionist is saving money by using a cheaper company and charging normal price which is why the decks stock is thinner, handling not as good compared to other uspcc decks, in his opinion and no seal on the tuck hints it's not

That review was pretty funny lol. I liked it. Don't like the cards personally though but the video was well done like usual

I've actually seen the cards in person and they look amazing. I personally hope this deck does get funded so everyone can see for themselves.

Well, I found a video featuring the original USPCC version of the Magic Castle deck. So that confirms the existence of 4 versions overall. It's a young Michael Ammar video. A good routine but he seemed quite nervous here.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TEDzEwuJez4

The identifier was the Bicycle ace of spades, 3:07. Unfortunately the box is not seen in the video.

I hope I read every post correctly, sorry if I am confusing something further, but is the review about these?

Thanks in advance

Yes, the review is about the one on the link you posted... The 4th and newest version.

As for pics of the cartamundi version, here they are. I only have the blue one. For kicks I posted pics of the collector's Magic Castle leather card case. There is no seal on the box and both sides are identical with no card company info.

Makes me glad that I traded for some recently!

The Cartamundi Magic Castle decks were worse than some souvenir decks...  Awful handling.

when did Cartamundi make the decks? I have the Paulson ones from about 10 years ago (well that's when i got them anyway). I also have their limited release "Gaff" deck for those cards. ;)

Based on what I read from this thread

http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewtopic.php?topic=235301&forum=2

It seems, according to Chris SD, that there were 3 runs of the decks before the current one. To summarize whats on that thread, pretty much there is a small run  of USPCC magic castle cards used by magicians in the west coast. There is a run made by paulson after the uspcc run. And then there is the carta mundi run after the paulson run.

I know sourcing from a thread is unreliable, but that's all the news I know. I don't even know which version I have. Mine has the carta mundi jokers so I figure I have the carta mundi deck.

Seemed shorter then usual with less substance, i don't like it :(

Still better then most reviewers on youtube though.

Well John... Looks like I'm going to have to stab you  :t11:
Just kidding of course

No worries. No more deck reviews from me will be like this.

The reason I made the review the way it was is because I have ill emotions towards my channel and cards and magic. I literally made the review out of venting from the stress and anxiety from the real world. Sorry.

After reading your review, I was like O_o

"Are we handling the same deck? My magic castle deck handles pretty badly!"

I had no idea they redid them. Thanks for the review and the news, man  :)

Playing Card Plethora / Re: Arrco and arrco tahoe quallity?
« on: January 05, 2013, 08:51:47 PM »
I have the white reprint of the arrco tahoe. The finish is a lttle scratchy like the Sentinels out of the box but the cards smoothen out in time. I recommend it for intermediate flourishers.
