I disagree. There are 52 different artists working on this deck, unlike most decks nowadays made by 1 person. It is obvious the work took longer than almost any other deck on the market, which explains its price. The artists need to get payed. Say the decks took 5,000 hours total to be designed. Divided by 52 is, lets round, 100 hours per artist. 999, or 1,000 decks sold. 38 euros per deck = 50$. 50/52 cards/artists = about 1$ per artist per deck. So if all decks are sold (which I doubt), each artist will have made 1,000$. 1,000/100 hours of work = 10$ an hour. That's BARELY MORE THAN MINIMUM WAGE! That's really not a lot, especially if it is their only source of income. That's NOT INCLUDING the printing, shipping, and web hosting fees, as well as the advertising for their work of art, which would remove another 10-20%. You're saying that they don't deserve 8-10$ per hour for this amazing work? What do S&M v1s, Gold Arcanes, or Gold Monarchs have that make them worth 10x more?I don't know. Although the artists need to get paid, I thought that 38 euros shipped is a lot for a non-USPCC deck. JMOI am a huge fan of this art. For 38 euros shipped, it isn't too bad. The whole site's in German, and I am not seeing through whom this will be printed. USPCC I'm guessing.
What makes you say that? Most times, if someone uses USPC, they say so. Plus it's a German project and there's no shortage of top-notch EU printers out there. Some of the Phoenix decks are USPC, but others are printed domestically by another print house.
Nathan, 38 euro is a lot for ANY deck that isn't made of a precious or semi-precious metal, regardless of who made it...
I don't know where this $120 price comes from. It was listed at SGD135, which is under US$109 at current rates. Was is listed at SGD120 previous to the current price at the time they sold out?
If you ask me, either price is too high. Even US$57 on eBay is too high. Someone's targeting deep-pocketed collectors with this one, that's for certain.
I think he meant that the ebay price at 57$ is cheap comparing to 120$ in the link he found.
Oh yes, that makes sense, my apologies to you Daniel and thanks phantom1412
Take me for example. I live in the Bay Area, a place where the population density is very high. The closes magic shop to where I live is 45 minutes away commuting and 30 minutes by car if there is no traffic (which is rare). Once it took me 1 hour and 45 minutes to get there...Why don't you just buy from the local magic shop?
Because not everyone has a local magic shop. If they did, companies like E and T11 wouldn't exist.
chill... what i meant was that he lives in Singapore and I live in Singapore too... That's why I asked him. And that magic shop which I was talking about, Magic Castle, is also about 45 mins away from where I live if I were to take public transport.
If something's forty-five minutes away, it's not really local, no matter what method you take to get there, even if it's in the same city. You can't get from one end of New York City to another in forty-five minutes, even in a car and with no traffic - but that doesn't mean everything in New York is local to all New Yorkers. The general rule of thumb a lot of Americans use is that more than thirty minutes away isn't local, and you really better have one awesome job if you have to commute more than an hour to get there (again, assuming no traffic).
Speaking of which, I'd better get my butt in gear if I'm going to get my car from the mechanic! Later!

Thanks, that would be great. Yes, they are full portraits showing face. The Taliban destroyed a # of paintings but the Taliban would destroy a painting that had on it any image of a human (any human)
I have read a bit on Islam. I find it very interesting and find wisdom in its writtings. I am familiar with the "ban" for lack of a better word on images of the prophet but I have a religous art work book that displays many paintings of the prophet. They were painted by muslims in the 1200's. I am not trying to contradict what you say as I know it is correct I just wanted to ask you why these paintings of the prophet were allowed at the time. They are definetly artists renderings of mohamed. I have a few muslim friends and I have yet to get a straight answer. I suspect it has something to do with different interpetations between Shia and Sunni. I ask this question with respect to your Religion. It is something I have been trying to figure out since I purchased the book. Any help would be appreciated.
I understand choosing to be spiritual, it makes life bearable. It's nice feeling that someone is always watching over you. However, I don't know why that someone has to be some bloke who we can literally define and create images of.Ermm... you can't create images of Allah. Neither can you create images of the Prophets or Prophet Muhammad (i know you can't create images of Prophet Muhammad but I'm not sure about the rest, sorry)
Daniel, there is no reason to be afraid of joining forums now. IP addresses are logged everywhere you join, including Facebook and even emails. SMF software comes with an IP tracking feature that lets me see every action a certain IP does on a forum, regardless of account. Yes, I could hypothetically use the feature to stalk people, but I have better things to do with my time. In reality, I've used the feature to figure out who that troll sxephil is, and now with the help of Kanped, figured out that TCA is creating fake accounts to boost PR.
As for TCA pumping out an amazing product, I wouldn't care. Would you buy a Porsche for $10,000 (a steal) from someone who has a track record of scamming, lying, cheating, stealing identities, making fake claims and violating copyright laws?
Non member can reserve?Damn sweet, reserved 7 of it:D $70 SGD which is about 55usd, Great deal
Haha ikr!!! I reserved only 5 decks. 50 SGD. The discounts were great too and i would have gotten more if not for the other decks i already reserved. My wallet is crying.

if these people suddenly shit out a great design from somewhere, it'll be kinda embarrassing. don't you think.
Questions have question marks and it's 'this person', not 'these people'.
No, I don't think it would be embarrassing at all. I have reacted, arguably, more strongly than anyone else here and frankly, I'm quite proud of my restraint and humility based on the available evidence. We have proven, excepting extreme coincidences. that Shane Carter is behind TCA, that he is a compulsive liar, possibly delusional, with no provable talent for anything at all (including design work). Anyone capable of critical thinking, which should be anyone at all, will see that doubting and trying to spread the word about the fraudulence of TCA is the only reasonable course of action.
Yeah, from the previews you can kind of tell where the movie was going to go, before you even sat in the theater... and I agree, having a bit of a love for superheroes would help!
So, I'm a bit of a YouTube/video junkie. I can easily lose track of time when I'm looking through the videos.
I normally like comedy, but my wife's co-worker sent her this today... I was shocked

this collecting thing is way more than just buying the cards huh
If that's the case, try keeping your decks in your basement if you have it, or the back corner of a closet. Desk drawers and cars seem to be no-good for my decks
My cards do however warp pretty bad when you drop them in a puddle of frozen strawberry daiquiri (I perform in bars).
Have you tried the Karnival Death Heads? Great deck for those conditions.
No, I don't actually own any BBM decks. I'm waiting for one that really strikes my fancy. I don't much care for any of the existing ones. I really liked the notion of the inferno deck, but they messed that up. What do you mean good for those conditions? Are the Death Heads resistant to frozen drinks?
I rarely pony up the cash to go to an actual theatre to see a movie, I find the prices have gotten out of control... and people around me are always noisy.

I highly recommend Chronicle. It's about 3 teenagers who stumble upon something in the ground... and they end up getting telekinetic powers. The story is great except for a not-needed love interest story line.

I seriously believe that the issue is handling conditions and storage. You live in a hot and humid climate. You need to keep cards as cool (not cold) and dry as possible. When they warp, store them under pressure - a Porper clip, a deck press or, if resources are more limited, a stack of heavy books or something similar. Silica gel will work, but needs to be "recharged" now and then by heating to remove absorbed moisture. A dehumidifier might be a better option and more effective.
Lee Asher's website has a PDF on "Care and Feeding of Jerry's Nuggets", most of which applies to all playing cards in general. Check it out.
