Had to take a quick break from Sherlock Holmes last night and did some concepting for a possible Kings Wild Signature Series back design. This one is much in line with my Federal style.
The blue line work would be a metallic blue and the back ground lines would be metallic silver.
Hope you enjoy.
I give them credit for being the top dogs of create the most beautiful tucks out there hands down, but not for their courts. I know they are capable of so much more than that. I support subtle changes, but those subtle changes have to be composed with the whole and not fragmented as they are. Standard courts would have not handicapped the awesome tuck. I only give them a rough time as they are one of the people I look to for standards of quality.
I like it... But I don't like this whole trend of creators releasing multiple decks at once through kickstarter; it's bad enough when things like Federal 52 or Sherlock come out - but at least with them, you get something different with each deck and so it's potentially worth it, with these it's either pledge for all at around $40 plus $20 shipping or its not pledge at all. Who wants one or two colours of a 4 colour set? And you know the aftermarket is just going to be filled with 4 deck sets anyway!
I loved the propaganda deck so much! First theory11 deck I ever received ~ back then it cost me £5 from magicbox I'll probably get these just because of that!
QuoteThis is true with most decks that try to do the "custom face only" approach. Legends is another good example, or some of Madison's stuff. You can't change one piece of a composition that has burned its self into our brains for 100 years and not expect it to look off.
It think it worked well with Legends, Madison (Rounders/Dealers) and Split Spades. Sure, it took some getting used to but they look good. These court faces are disproportionate. Even worse, they are "inconsistently" disproportionate. Some face's are normal size and some are small size.
Those were sold out in 21 minutes - the only thing wrong with that deal was that it went so quickly.
QuoteWell, since I'm from Charleston - and live here now, I decided I'd give them a call and find out. The answer is exactly as everyone has posted already: they are an 'incentive', not for sale. To get a deck, you have to spend $100 in one visit, it's not a cumulative thing with a tally card or something. Simple enough - take the wife and a couple of friends and $25 each wouldn't even be a challenge, although the prices are very reasonable. The reason I never connected the deck with the restaurant here is that they changed the name a few years ago (apparently 6 or 7 now, from what I read) and bought what used to be "Big John's" downtown. Right on the upper King Street "tourist trap" area near the visitors center, not even a challenge. I've got one, but I'll soon have another, and if they are worth a darn, I'll pick up a few over the next couple of months, maybe drop a couple on the board here when I get my post count up.If you're picking up a few over a few months then I'll be keeping an eye on your posts, as long as they aren't extortionately priced I'm in the market for a deck

Good comments Fred. By the way did you pledge for the deck?
It may just be my PC, but it's live now, but I can't select a quantity of more than 1. I can select 1 deck, add it to my cart, adn then change the quantity in the cart at checkout and it works though. Like I said, that just may be a quirk with my PC.
