Nosejam...I sold a deck last week to someone in Switzerland and the shipping there was just over $12,  if you count the $1.75 for the padded envelope , it is very close to $15.  I agree that if you are in Canada $15 is indeed steep  but to Europe and Asia $15 is close to the norm

I haven't really looked into it, just basing it off what other KS projects charge for their delivery.  Didn't Jackson apologise for the cost of delivery for his Sherlock deck, and that's $9.

She seems to have picked up a few backers so far, I suppose the higher price means you need less backers to reach your target as well.

I would have backed these but for that price, I'm out. $15 delivery charge as well, crazy.

The joys of ordering cards from a lingerie company, much more fun to unwrap!  Pity the handling of the cards isn't up to the same level.

It's still a great find!  Where are they from?

They're from a company called Lascivious based here in the UK.  The decks are art decks, each card has been designed by a different artist (nearly, some artists have a couple of cards in one of the decks, forget which one)  I asked them for some details about the cards as well:

Quote
In terms of the playing cards, they were manufactured in the UK by Cartimundi . The erotic deck was printed in 2006 - it originally came in tin packaging (still available to buy) and then some were repacked into cardboard boxes (as you have) when our second 'love' deck was created in September 2008. There were 1000 printed of each.

On a side note, as I have been getting so jealous of seeing everyone receiving their Whispering Imps I've ordered a couple of those for myself :)

Live once again...Is this the 4th time? hehehe

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2104052526/bicycle-creepy-playing-cards

It is being released by the company behind The Haunted Deck:

Quote
We are excited to announce that we have purchased the rights of the Creepy Playing Cards by Xtu Productions designed by Johnny Whaam. When we first saw this deck, we were very impressed with the detail of the art work, especially the court cards. Surprisingly to us this deck has failed twice on Kickstarter. We decided to purchase this design and have it printed by USPCC featuring the Bicycle Brand. We are also printing Johnny original UN-branded tuck case as a limited edition deck. We will only print 1000 of these limited edition decks and they will be numbered 1-1000. These decks have already been approved by USPCC and will be printed with a release date of early March 2014.

Why Creepy? I wanted to create beautiful :) creepy monsters, 12 of them...and put them on card faces. But why? I love horrors, it's a challenge for me to see how creepy my imagination can be in this art field,...I decided to put it on paper and show what I got to you. What you see here is the maximum of scary/creepy graphic art I can come up with. All original creatures, all hand drawn.

All 12 court cards are carefully designed to have that regular court card feel. Aces, same thing..., classic feel with creepy artwork.

Thanks for the kind welcomes guys!

I'm from Portsmouth on the south coast of England - spiritual home of the Royal Navy, and birthplace of Charles Dickens and Sherlock Holmes!

I hope you've backed Jackson's Sherlock Holmes deck then!

I'm another Brit, and Don is right those postage costs, Americans don't know they're born!

And I scan all the fronts of my decks.  Here is a deck-stitch I made with the scans.
Here are most of the different decks in my collection (not including minis or bridge size)

You can see a larger version here that you can zoom in on:

I was really close to backing this, only have so much money to go around and there are some amazing decks on KS at the moment and being a Brit that international shipping is a killer.

Personally the printers of the deck aren't that important to me as long as the quality isn't horrible.  With a deck like this I can't imagine the target audience is magicians/performers so handling isn't as big an issue as it could have been.

Same here, I'm trying to save money but KS keeps stopping me.  I might have to ban myself from even looking at threads with (KS) in the title

Ciccolata Calda, it's almost like a pudding. Personally, I prefer spanish hot chocolate, much more creamier.
What brand of tea do they have in America? I'm drinkin PG tips as I type this :)

The Spanish are definitely among the better hot chocolates, as a follow up I love some churros and chocolate

Welcome James. Hope you enjoy your journey through this site uncovering the wonderful world of playing cards :)
I'm a fellow Brit myself, hail from Birmingham :)

I'm looking forward to it, not sure my wallet is though...
I'm going to be up your way next week for the football (Everton fan) Always a fun trip to Villa even if they don't sell beer in the ground

So what in particular do you enjoy jamming in your nose?

..or unjamming, for that matter...?  :))

Who says it's my nose I jam things up  ;)

I've never enjoyed tea or coffee and I'm very particular about my hot chocolate (Italian style all the way).

Having said that I tried Bubble Tea for the first time on Saturday and I loved it.

Hey,

I'm nosejam, you can call me whatever takes your fancy but James tends to be quite the popular choice.

I hail from little ol' England, not far from Gatwick for those who know it.

I fell into the playing card world from the magic angle but I was too much of a perfectionist to ever really perform.  So now I primarily collect cards to admire their beauty, I do still have my practice decks to keep my hands in and if anything I am more into the cardistry now.

That's quite enough to be going on with for now.
