Playing Card Plethora / Re: Call Of Cthulhu by Shane Tyree

Yarg, maybe it was my bad but the illustrations for the tuck are totally different. Hordes of squigglies, screaming faces, tentacles cracks and hidden images. I think that maybe at first glance because the palettes are the same it might be off putting. If you get in there though, you'll see :)

As to the differences in editions, other than the art, different seals, I am releasing the embossing stretch for the LE today, with an eye toward eventually doing a separate run for different backs and faces etc. That said since this was my first rodeo I had no idea what the response would be, and even though it has been reasonably good. I want to grow slowly and responsibly so every upgrade adds value, and isn't something that I will end up upside down on, therefore potentially screwing my backers if I run out of funds.

I know you guys are used to a certain level of quality, I can assure you this deck will get the best art I can make. As far as tangibles though, those are tied directly to the performance of the project and what the community wants. Thank you guys for talking about it though, and for the feedback. All of that helps me make better choices. I appreciate it!

From what I can guess based on the project home page, it looks like they might be using custom spot cards as well as courts.  But for all that work, the back is rather bland, no?  It's like buying the expensive sports car but having an AM radio with an 8-track tape player installed to replace the satellite radio/MP3 player...with cheap speakers, too...

Hey there Don, and all the rest! Thanks for the feedback on the cards. I went with the more bland/traditional design because I wanted the deck to look similar to older woodcut card runs. Hence the spidery design and illustration. I appreciate the feedback though, and this being my first deck, I would love some suggestions/examples if you have them. To either try out on this batch or incorporate in other deck projects. Thanks again the forums here are a huge resource that I only discovered because of you guys inviting us over.
