Judy my heartfelt condolences go out to you and your family. I am truly saddened by Tom's passing. Even though i haven't seen you both in many years, i did get to converse with him occasionally through the forum or 52+. He was a true gentleman and a wonderful man. I will miss the man I always called "Mista T." because he truly was one of the A-Team... R.I.P. Tom...  maybe we'll finally get to play a round of golf in heaven...

Don... Classic TV puts to shame most, not all, of the MINDLESS pap that serves as entertainment on TV today..  :).... As to Gold edged decks... I agree that they are very durable if done right. I collect Pre-1930 decks and approx 60% of the decks in my collection are Gold edged. Of course the process was a lot cheaper to do back then, as opposed to today which i find quite prohibitive as far as collecting goes... Unless one has the $$$ to burn & a very quick Kickstarter Finger.. ;)

Erotic decks are quite popular with a lot of collectors. . They've been around since the Mid-19th century..at least, maybe earlier, but they are quite scarce... I think your cards would be more appealing if the coloring was less garish/dense and a little softer and the designs were a little finer... but then again this would change the style from Hanafuda to not so much Hanafuda..lol, but maybe more appealing due to the subject matter.  My collectors opinion only!  :)...  good Luck with the project!!  :)

Hey Hank and Don... I already "pulled the trigger" on the Bohemia deck.. :)... love Uusi's decks... Don, I watched your Video review concerning the sturdiness of the gold edged Pagan deck, all the while going AAAHHH!!!! ...I can't find one.... and he's going all "Gorilla with a Samsonite suitcase" on it!!!!!  lmao...thanks to both of you for the answers and tips... ;)

PS: I'm Also looking for the Classic Blue Silver gilt edge and the BrUt gold edged Poker deck...  and the search goes on.....and on...and on.... :D

Hi Hank... thanks for the heads up... The copper edged Pagans are available to me also... I'm just looking for the Gold edged versions... I'm going to keep them in mind though in case all my efforts fail in finding the Gold edged versions... >:(

Howdy Hank... nice to hear from you.. I've been on Uusi's website many times.. a few minutes ago in fact... the gilded versions are all sold out... the only ones that i can see that are available are the Copper edged Pagan decks..??? am i missing something??

I really enjoy seeing how everybody stores/displays their respective collections.. my dream is to eventually find just the right antique display cabinet for my collection..but until then.. I
Thought i'd show how i store/display my collection.. well PART of it ..lol.. I had this custom made.. 12 drawers on smooth ball bearing sliding rails. depending on how i display my cards.. each drawer could hold 125-150 decks..which the bottom 4 drawers are holding at the moment.. All these addictive kickstarter decks are slowly eating up my vintage space.. :-). The cabinet weighs a ton, but is good and sturdy and a nice way to store and display my collection..

Just wanted to post another wonderful transformation deck.. This is called "Eclipse Comic Playing Cards" it was published in 1876 by F.H. Lowerre, New York. It is considered the first true transformation deck published in the United States. It is not as clever as most of the European Transformation Decks or the latter US Transformation decks, but it is still a beautiful deck and pretty hard to come by. It was also the first transformation deck issued with a joker. My deck came in a great, period box that was made specifically for "Playing Cards".. I've pictured the back and front

Some of the early War decks are VERY valuable if you ever can find an example.. the J.Y. Humphreys Seminole Indian War deck c1819, Mexican American War deck of c1849 and the Monitor Merrimac Civil War deck in Very Good or better condition are some examples.. also the first few American transformation decks.. Samuel Hart, Eclipse, and Murphy's Varnish are all very rare in any condition better than very good... But there are MANY other decks even rarer than these that almost never come up for sale...never a boring moment searching...  ;D... now as for Foreign decks... well thats another animal... ;)
