So I saw this listing on eBay today: http://www.ebay.com/itm/GOLDEN-NUGGET-CASINO-CARDS-NEW-NEVER-OPENED-/170747309807?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item27c1552eef#ht_500wt_1413

I compared the deck to my own, real Nuggets and there are a few notable differences. For one, the seal in the above picture is a post-1980s USPCC seal. The vintage GN's have a different seal, that looks almost like a tax stamp along the edges.

Another big difference is the "Atlantic city - Las Vegas" bit. The original Nuggets have "Fremont Street" on them, and not "Atlantic City."

This bidding is already up to $30, which is very odd because although this deck may be rare, it is not the deck that is going for $50-150 on eBay.

Does anyone know more Golden Nugget history to elaborate on this?

This is just the atlantic golden nugget deck, there were two golden nuggets one in las vegas and one in atlantic city. The one in atlantic city was open during the 1980s I think, so its quite a while after the original run. They handle differently to the normal golden nuggets, and come in black/gold and gold/black.

Sorry, I can't help with the history of Golden Nuggets. But I saw some around somewhere, and I've been pretty interested since. So I'd love to hear some more about them, too.

it is not fake go and see this picture by a trusty seller http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=103345216420232&set=a.103344946420259.9937.100002342623186&type=3&theater

The link doesn't work.

Odd, I didn't change it, but it seems eBay listings that have been ending lately have been redirecting to Facebook. No clue why.

  • Pick a card, any card...no, not THAT card!

  • Facebook:
The seller himself comments that it's a deck from the early 80's, so it's possible.  I couldn't say so with any authority.
