Well, after posting in another thread about these cards...

A little birdy told me to go to the artists twitter page... I was shocked to find this...

The new Blue Crown decks

I hope this deck looks as good as the artwork this guy pumps out.

Really interesting concept, can't wait to see more. I do have a soft spot for the original blue crown deck though, probably one of my favorite designs along with Artifice... And those sort of lack the simplicity and elegance of the crowns, but they definitely have their own charm.

I'm not fond of the colors. The tuck box looks great, and the artwork as a whole looks great, but I prefer my cards to have their faces uncluttered. I am, and always will be, an avid supporter of minimalism.

This seems like a deck along the lines of Fantastique: Definitely worth buying a few for the art and the uniqueness, but not exactly a usable deck for games or magic.

Exactly what I meant by "lacking the simplicity and elegance". I'm not even a magician and don't intend to become one, but what I love the most in a deck design is elegance. Artifice, Crown, what we've seen of the Mana deck, Arcane, even Tally-Ho in a less eye-catching way, those are designs I would buy by the brick.
But I definitely like the artwork on those. I'm curious to find out if they have custom faces and pips as well, since the Crown deck had standard Arrco faces I believe.

They do. There's a link somewhere around here to his website which lists all of the faces.

I don't mind the "busyness" of the card faces. I just wish that the difference between red and black suits was a bit more distinctive.

BTW: are we certain the card boxes aren't mockups? Alex Pandrea, wherever you are, can you weigh in on this important life-or-death issue?

Those tuck-cases look self-assembled (Robert Butler still has one or two self-assembled Vortex cases). That said, I don't expect the cases to change much, and I honestly love them as they are now.

And could you estimate the time for printing decks after the prototype are finished? Alex

Honest answer: With the USPCC 2-24 months.

JK, if it's 2 months them it's possible to be around February.

Hey dudes. Thanks for all of the feedback and excitement. Gotta be honest, we didn't expect to see a thread on these for a long time!

This deck is still in development, so we're really not ready to share much info. The pics are home-made mockups made by the artist. Nothing you see should be considered "set in stone" for now.

Don't worry, you'll certainly hear more from us about this in the future. In the meantime though, you guys should just enjoy your Crown Decks!

Looks amazing! It doesnt seem like the type of deck The Blue Crown would produce but its still awesome and I really hope they do produce it. The artwork on it is just incredible!

These look pretty nice. I'm with Alex on it being very busy. I like a more simple design, but these do like kind of nice.

It looks very un-blue crown like to me, so I was surprised to see that they will most likely be producing this one. It'll be interesting to see more about this deck in the months to come.

Haha exactly what Loldude said! I've heard some rumors that they are supposed to be released on the anniversary of the first Blue Crown deck release date, although no confirmation on that rumor. No rush though
