As is stands for now, we're likely still holding the 2018 convention in early-mid October, sometime around Columbus Day.  As for the following convention, there's been talk about possibly changing the time of year.  It turns out that the early October period is pretty popular and has been part of the reason why we're having a harder time finding affordable convention room rates in as many cities as we used to.

For the following convention, we're looking at trying to book a hotel in New York City for the first time.  If that does work out, there's a chance that the convention time will change, possibly to a slower period like February - it's possible that 2019 won't have a convention, if that's the case.  While New York can get heavy snow that time of year, it's rare that the city ever gets "shut down" for more than a day as they break out an army of snow removal equipment, so even though it's a more Northeastern city than we typically choose, it's less likely to end up canceled by weather.  But none of that is written in stone, so it could change between now and then.

Cleveland is pretty much a given, and on the plus side, we're going back to the three-day convention format - the consensus is that people prefer the longer convention period.  I believe it was chosen as a way to welcome the Chicago Playing Card Collectors into the club - they're merging with us by the time that convention takes place and Cleveland was a popular convention destination for them.
