If you REALLY want to stock up on decks...

I came across a site where you can buy 144 decks for $1.36 per deck... SHIPPING INCLUDED!

http://www.stockngo.com/buy-the-case/household/school-n-around-the-house/bicycle-standard-playing-cards.html?gdftrk=gdfV23630_a_7c1633_a_7c7377_a_7c20073854001534&

I know nothing about this company, or different decks you might be able to get.

Just thought I'd pass it along

Seems about right for a gross of decks. A gross typically costs 50-70% of the full price, and Bikes are about $3 per deck in retail.

Although, at Costco you can get 12 decks for $15.

Are they perma-stocked where you live? You have to catch them on delivery day here in Vegas, Costco sells out off them in 24 hours or less every time.

They also have standard BEE decks for the same price.  Bee are hard to come by where I live for some reason.  The only place that stocks them are RiteAid and Walgreens and they are still around $3.25 tax included.  On a side note...the only thing good about this is I think I'm the only person who buys playing cards from my local Riteaid so all of the bicycle decks are old box Ohio blue seals!

Back on topic...these Bees are a good deal if anyone likes Bees and can't find them locally.

Maybe Costco near you has them that cheap, but in New York, everything costs more.  The local BJ's Wholesale near me has them by the dozen for just under $1.40 a pack.  They also still had those cool 4-pack Heritage Series #2 sets for only $8.99, but for how much longer, who knows?  Those cards are great not just for the cool historical backs - they're traditionally cut as well, and I imagine they look awesome in fans.

The Walgreen's near my old apartment only sold Bicycle and Stud.  They would get standard and jumbo of each, plus WSOP, Pro PokerPeek and The Dog and The Cat decks, plus those silly clear plastic decks (they're so useless - one scratch and a card is marked and unusable, and the soft plastic marks easily).  But they generally sold for over $3 a pack, to as high as about $4.30, plus sales tax of nearly 9%.

There was a Duane Reade that opened further from the city and had a mess of older stock - Hoyle Shellbacks, Bees, Tally Ho, etc., all from Cincinnati.  But on closer inspection I discovered the Aviator jumbo decks they had were made in China (!) and I checked with a contact at USPC.  He said the buyer for Duane Reade must have dug up old stock that was supposed to have been returned to USPC and was dumping it - they did briefly make Aviators in China but stopped when quality issues couldn't be resolved.  Then I discovered that Duane Reade was purchased by Walgreen, so from that point they only carried Bicycle and Hoyle.  And it was all horribly expensive.

At retail in New York, big pharmacies charge over $4 a pack and have Bicycle and little else.  Smaller mom-and-pop stores carry other brands, depending on where you are.  Just outside of the city, they have Bee, while inside city limits Tally Ho appears to be the more common local brand.  Funny enough, they rarely carry Bicycle!  They'll typically charge more like $3 a pack.  The best deals are always from the big box stores, selling bricks in display boxes for under $20, sometimes WELL under, but I have yet to see them here as cheap as $1.25 a pack in bulk.

Sadly this site does not ship internationally at all
Mystery is the basic appeal of magic. Once the secrets are known, the magician becomes a mere manipulator, an actor in a suspense drama which has little impact because the audience knows the ending in advance.

Hey, did any of you happen to dig a little deeper into that site?  A casual search for "playing cards" reveals they're selling cases of Bees for exactly the same price ($1.36 a deck) and that if you buy the Bicycles in 12-count display packs instead of ordinary bricks, they're even CHEAPER by the case - down to $1.33 a pack.

It's a darn shame I don't need THAT MANY DECKS...yet...  Though it's a worthy consideration when picking up cards to give to the kids at the hospital.

But you can't use the 20% off coupon: 1ST20, since it's a case. Oh well.

Why would you need an EXTRA 20% off of prices that are already insanely cheaper than retail?  Don't be greedy now...  ;)

Good find @Sabacc! Why I would need that many Bees? I don't know. But I do love me that deck! I should have gotten that and given Bee decks as Christmas gifts this year  ;)

Not too late to give them as New Year's Eve gifts.  Or perhaps Valentine's Day - get all-red bricks!

I would if I had the cash. I spent quit a bit on the presents I got for my friends and family but it was worth it  :)
