From what I know, this is a first run black tiger(white pip) deck from Ellusionist which does not have a barcode nor a barcode reveal. This deck is also air cushion finish, before the UV 500 finish existed. Can anyone confirm?

I want to say yes because I'm pretty sure (not 100%) that the barcode reveal wasn't applied until later. I'm not sure about the finish though.

If it is that's a pretty nifty addition to any collection!! Nice find  :)

Oh very cool!! It looks like you have some nice decks in your collection (just what I can see from the pictures). I'm sure there are many collectors that would love to buy/trade for that deck!

I think the best way to know the answer to that for sure would be to check with Ellusionist.  As far as I know - and that's not all that far - the Black Tigers were UV500 to start with and didn't get "Air Cushioned" until later.  Only E can give you the truly definitive answer.

They must be one of the first runs.
They're from Cincinnati, they say Air- Cushion, and theres no barcode!
The Black Tiger white pips are out of print which means, the only time the box said Air Cushion, was one of the first runs.

Since its not a popular deck for collectors because not many people have them sealed and it wasnt meant to be a limited deck, its hard to put a price on it. So it all comes down to opinion. In my opinion, its worth about $30
But thats just my opinion

I think you'd have a tough time getting that much in US dollars.  I wouldn't put it at much higher than current retail.

 :P I change my opinion to $20
After thinking about it, I'd spend around that price on it

This was well before my time and I'm not a human (well, half human half cyborg) encyclopedia like Jake, so take it for what it is but I do believe that the deck in the pictures are in fact from the very first run. No barcode, and the fact that it says 'Black Deck Tigers' on the bottom of the box points towards this.
Yes, I might be the guy you remember from that thing at that place way back when.

Hang on to it.  A first print run deck like that will have value when the decks from all print runs are more scarce.

That is an early deck, but it is not the very 1st edition.  The first Tiger Decks (all white, the red version did not start until the 2nd ed, when they also introduced the UV) say "Poker 808" on the bottom flap.  The "Poker 808-" indicates that it is a 2nd edition deck.

The red decks do not have the hyphen, because there was no "technically" first edition red-pipped.

Still an early one, but not from the very first printing.

Inside, I'm sure you have gaff cards instead of ad cards.  The first several printings of Tigers (red and white) came with gaffs instead of ads, which was a nice bonus.

Seriously? There are gaffs inside? Mine is still sealed so I do not know. This gets more exciting with every reply. I hope brad christian comes here and clarify.

I wouldn't hold my breath on that - but you could try contacting E's customer service.  You want good intel, you go to the source, right?

After watching the vid it seems like my deck would include the gaff card. Which would be awesome. Thx for the info.

People say nothing's impossible, but I do nothing everyday.

Today I found something that reminded me of you. But don't worry I flushed and everything went back to normal.

sadly i think they are second edition. :( but in the video they say that the 1st edition handles terribly. the hyphen indicates a second edition. first edition has only poker 808.

I have a couple of these decks (white and red pips) sitting around, all opened.

First: yes, the Air cushion makes the cards handle like crap.

Second: I don't think this was mentioned in the video, but there are two gaffs in the original Black Tigers, the white 3 of Clubs, as well as a "slanted" Ace of Spades. However, because I removed the gaff/ad cards when I got them (oh so long ago), I can't tell if each Tiger deck came with both gaffs or one or the other. As in, white pips has the white 3, red pips has the slanted Ace, etc....

The white pips I got long time ago has white 3 of clubs.
The red pips I got recently has nothing but ad card.

Hmm, so where did the other gaff come from?
