A friend of mine just received a bunch of Bicycle New Fan Backs (I think it is circa 1980s due to the white Bicycle tear strip and the bottom of the deck, but I could be wrong) and was wondering what the current value of these are...any ideas or opinions?
I wouldn't say hugely valuable, but I'd hang on to them, for sure. They're Cincinnati vintage, if nothing else. The design was one of the more common of the designs aside from the most-common Rider Back, but that's got a lot to do with how popular it was and still is.
Clues as to a sealed deck's age from around that era... Does it has a sticker seal or a moisture-activated stamp seal? Does it have a bar code? Bar codes weren't used on USPC decks until the 1980s, if I'm remembering correctly, and sticker seals are also of about the same era.
