Star Wars focuses on the journey of Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), who along with Han Solo (Harrison Ford) and the wizened Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi (Alex Guinness), who attempt to free Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher) from the clutches of the Galactic Empire and the Sith lord Darth Vader (David Prowse, voiced by James Earl Jones).

Star Wars has expanded to other media, which include all Star Wars fictional material produced by Lucasfilm or officially licensed by it outside of the original theatrical Star Wars films produced by George Lucas.

With the release of the latest film, THE RISE OF SKYWALKER - Theory11 is proud to present Star Wars: Light Side and Dark Side Playing Cards from USPCC

This was in many ways an extraordinary production.  I was looking at deck licensing once before, in a collaboration with Randy Butterfield/Midnight Cards.  We checked with Universal about getting rights to make a deck based on "The Big Lebowski."  The deal-killer was that they stated that unless the deck used artwork and photography provided by the studio or stills from the movie itself (in other words, if the deck had original art in it), any likenesses of any of the characters couldn't be used without obtaining separate rights from the ACTOR who portrayed that character.  The deal was borderline overpriced to start with, but when that news landed in our laps, we knew there was no way to make this profitably.

One thing that really worked in their favor was the USPC acquisition by Cartamundi.  Until that occurred, there was no way they'd be able to print this with USPC - Cartamundi held the exclusive rights to all playing cards based on all the Star Wars films.
