The 52 Types deck of playing cards was created as a quick reference tool for designers.

Each card is designed with its own font. Ace through jack shows the majority of each font’s family while ten through two was given a more radial design. The cards were designed to still be used as a traditional deck of cards while doubling as a cherished item by designers. This project was accompanied with a poster showing the entire deck. Earlier this year it was awarded with a Golden Addy in San Diego's local round.

Designed by Adam Bauer.

Not a USPCC deck

Those look really unique! Too bad they aren't USPCC. And is it just me or does the box look mini?

Papyrus & Comic Sans as the Jokers, Helvetica as the AoS... the only thing that disappoints me is the lack of Orator Std. which is one of my favorite fonts of all time.

The deck is less than entirely practical, but absolutely fun!  I like this deck!

As of September, this was still a "forthcoming" deck, with one site saying to keep tabs on Bauer's site to see when they go on sale.

While looking for where they might be on sale, I found THIS COOL PAGE!

I like the design of this deck too.
Is it the same deck with 2 difference boxes?
This has a little bit problem about boarder too.

Love the concept, and love the design! This is one way for me to learn more about the fonts.

He appears to have created two versions of this deck - white-backed and black-backed.  These cards are printed to the bleed, but only some cards actually extend into the bleed.  It's terrible from a playing card design standpoint, since the bleed-print cards are all the faces and aces and likely could be immediately spotted in a deck stack, but that doesn't take anything away from this being a very cool-looking product.

I'm guessing you didn't closely read the first post.  Y'know, the one with the LINK in it to the designer's site...  As far as links for sale, none exist that I know of, but they're supposedly going to be offered (or were already offered) on his site.

BTW, gang: am I the only person who noticed that this topic is about "plying cards"?!?  Are we talking two-ply, one-ply...?  :))

Eh... I've seen better typography playing cards. I don't really like the layout of the cards and it seems a little rushed. The other decks I've seen are a little nicer than this one. I'll pass

Sorry, but what is the meaning of the bleed?

When a deck has a design feature that's printed past the card's edge, that's called bleed printing.  The most common example of this would be the Bee Diamond Back.  Any deck that's printed in a color other than white all the way to the card's edge utilized bleed printing when it was made.  The cards get cut in the design/color, rather than around it as with a standard white-bordered deck.

Bleed printing has some drawbacks and some benefits.  Gamblers/dealers can disguise certain card sleights better with a patterned to-the-bleed deck, which is a reason why many casinos using Bee cards either make a custom back with a border or get the Stingers design.  But if a card has bleed print on one side and not the other, as with the Artifice v1 decks, turning over a card and sliding it in the middle of the deck doesn't "hide" or "bury" the card - it stands out like a sore thumb along the deck's edge.  Worse is when the faces are printed into the bleed for certain cards but not for others - like this deck does for the aces and court cards.  There's an excellent chance that the bleed printing could be spotted, allowing you to see where all those high-value cards are, which in turn lets you know when someone receives one in a deal.

I don't hate a bleed-print deck, as long as it's consistent, but I much prefer a white-bordered deck.  An inconsistent deck like this, beautiful though many may consider it, is impractical for even casual play.  Would you play poker, blackjack or even hearts with someone holding a deck that lets everyone see where all the high-value cards are?

It's an art deck, not a magician tool... It's not USPC.

Anyway... I want one! And if they had good handling, I'd want many more...

Another deck from the link Don posted that I'm adding to my wishlist:
