An update on my 2012 bird deck:
- 1 suit is done, 3 more to go!
- I haven't locked down on a name for the deck yet. Don suggested "Clipped Wings," which I'm leaning towards, but "Flock" and "Ornithology" are still running in the back of my mind. If you prefer one of these names (or you have a suggestion on a different name), let me know!

Update on the Curator deck:
- I have 4 shows confirmed for this spring and summer, a 5th one is in the works.
- I'm working on getting life-size prints made to sell at the shows, including a mock uncut sheet.
- I'm working on a tuck box, which I have to admit is a challenge.
- The deck will still be printed, but prepping for the shows is taking priority at this point.

Wow. These look even better than some of those on the 2011 deck.

Absolutely incredible work! I love this deck and the hard work that was put into it, really shows. I'm sure it will be a success and I wish you the best of luck with both decks.

Those spades look fantastic - but I recommend that you put a HUGE watermark into the images you post.  I would hate to see what happened to the Curator deck happen to this one.

I think you know already which title I prefer...  :))

The limited colors are sort of intentional.  His decks - this one and the Curator deck from last year - are made of images hand-cut from black paper and laid on a white background.  The actual card artworks are HUGE.  He makes a single card every week starting from the first week of the year, so by year's end he has a complete deck!

The Curator deck hasn't been produced yet, but he plans to do so once his gallery shows of his art are completed by mid-late summer.

Here's the old topic on the Curator deck:

Now I'm admittedly not familiar with the entire history of decks, but in my opinion these are the finest transformation decks to ever exist. Pure magic, and I love every one of these cards.

When you print them, you will sell them all without issue, guaranteed.

Victor/Ncyclopedia made this official on Facebook Sunday, but neglected to post here about it.  Naughty Victor!

I'm making it official: "Clipped Wings" is the name for my bird deck. Many thanks to Don Boyer for coming up with it as well as the logo suggestion!

Nathan, Life has been so hectic lately. Between job hunting, prepping for the shows, and making art it's been busy to say the least. The first show opens this Friday, May 4th, and I'll probably post photos in the Curator thread shortly thereafter..

Also, I'm going to sound silly for asking this, but how do I change the name of this thread? I'd like to update it with name of the deck.

I can understand you Victor. And to change the name of the thread, go to your first post, click on "EDIT", and in the top box, change the name.

2012 is done, and so is my Clipped Wings deck. I had to work ahead of my 1 card a week schedule due to holiday travel, but here are all the cards (and the AoS for my next deck).

  • I like birds.

  • Kickstarter:
Oh, NICE!
These look too awesome! I love how they all revolve around the central theme of birds. (I love birds)
The Curator deck was amazing, but I though the themes of the cards were also a bit hectic. This deck improves upon a fantastic concept! Nice work!
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Thank you everyone! Yeah, the Curator deck didn't have a central theme, but all the subsequent decks I create will have one :)

If anyone lives in the Raleigh-Durham, NC area, I'm having a Clipped Wings art show this May at the Busy Bee restaurant in downtown Raleigh. I would love to hear from you if you live in the area or are visiting in May!

Below are the one-sheet art prints that I'm planning to hang up for the art show. Also, dates are still being worked out for the release of the deck, but it's coming  :)

Just my luck - I was planning to be in the Piedmont Triad in the first week of May, but the plans got reversed and now I'm flying my mother to New York for four months instead!

No worries Don, we'll definitely hang out again; I'm planning to be in NY this summer.
