Poll

What is your opinion regarding the extra card w/credits?

Regular backs on both, credits on one in small print, AC ad on the other.
Credits on both sides of one in medium-sized print, AC ad on the other with regular back.
Credits on three sides in regular print, AC ad on the fourth.
I really couldn't give a flying fig and have no opinion - do what thou wilst.
I want something different, and I'll describe it in a post below...

Pondering this a little, I do think several things should happen before anyone goes too crazy:

1. Someone needs to design the back, and everyone needs to agree that it works. That will form the basis of everything else, from color palette to theme.
2. Someone needs to put out a complete set of card templates, with properly positioned indexes and pips set (the pip design could be changed, perhaps, but the position and size should be consistent). Without that, you'll end up with a jumbled mess if each designer decides where to put stuff.
3. Since you will have so many people taking part, you really can't help but end up with something "transformation-like" in the end, because each person will want to do something interesting, but if you get the 2 of spades you really can't do all that much without adding some new kind of detail or art.
4. Finally, from a technical point of view, the resulting design files do need to be exactly right (in terms of size, format, resolution) or you will have USPCC giving you a big WTF when you send them mismatched files.

Could be a lot of fun! (but I don't want to manage it :) )

Just being honest here so don't take this offensively. I like the second design better but I don't like either of them...

I like it but I think it needs a little more shape. It doesn't look too much like a Spade. Its really cool but just needs some work  :)

I think that the fact that so many of you are keen to be involved in this project is brilliant, it shows what a great community we have here.

However, You need to consider what your aim is with this deck.
As a promotional tool for the forum to be given to new and existing members and given away in competitions I think the design route you're going is great as it will really show off the diverse range of members we have here.

As a money making exercise though, a deck with no clear theme, with so many different designers designing so many different aspects of the deck could be a disaster.

I'm not trying to be negative or to dissuade you all from doing this, I would support\help fund this deck whichever route you take.

I'm just offering some constructive comments\criticisms.

Ok. I think the back design is a very good start. You should do it on the computer though. We want a classy, metalic-like style. Can I see your ace plz?

Adobe Photoshop is what most people use. But if you want a free one, try Gimp

I'm in. Someone tell me what to design and I'll do it  :D
