Poll

What is your opinion regarding the extra card w/credits?

Regular backs on both, credits on one in small print, AC ad on the other.
Credits on both sides of one in medium-sized print, AC ad on the other with regular back.
Credits on three sides in regular print, AC ad on the fourth.
I really couldn't give a flying fig and have no opinion - do what thou wilst.
I want something different, and I'll describe it in a post below...

Great job on the back design Derek. I am really loving the improvements that you are adding to the colors and what not.

This thread has really slowed down. Idk if that is good or bad. Maybe it is because people are working, idk. Do you guys think we should have a deadline for a final draft of the cards we have designed?
People say nothing's impossible, but I do nothing everyday.

Today I found something that reminded me of you. But don't worry I flushed and everything went back to normal.

I think this thread has slowed down, probably because some people are on vacation. However, we do need more cards to be designed. For those who have not completed their assigned cards, I URGE you to start working as soon as possible. My goal was to launch a kickstarter this summer, giving us 3 months for the card and box design, and 1 month for finishing everything up and calculating the funds needed.

hmm I might be the only one, but I actually liked the back more without the blue. :P
Oh well.

As for deadlines... It's not a full-time project for most people. I have a portfolio to make for college as well as my Wonderland deck to design, so I can't be working on a different set of queens at the same time, that would be too much.

Right Now it is currently in the design phase. We are still trying to get all the art for the deck.

Thanks for the compliments on the Sixes!

Derek, I went ahead and setup a quick scene to help you decide which direction you want to go further with on the Back Design. I'm a big fan of color so I like Version C the best but I think you should go back to the pattern used on Version A and add the color background into that file. I think the pattern on Version C is slightly noticeable as being stretched horizontally.

thanks, Randy

I don't know why but I think that version C will end up best but I think it needs a couple changes:
1) 2 Ds back to back in the center
2) Less pixelated Ds
3) "Discourse running down along the side in red
4) A more turquoise kind of blue for the background.

I honestly don't want discourse to be in red. It will just look odd and since the letters are small, I feel it will make it clash and look way to cheesy, and/or tacky.

Secondly, I hated back "C" but seeing it in that fan has instantly changed my mind. I love it, I love how the colors fade, and I don't think you should change the blues at all.

I agree with that, I don`t think the discourse running down the sides is neccesary anymore. And that fan looks awesome, I feel we should close the back design and use this :)

I still feel the word "Discouse" should be there, but not in red.

Ahh, I see what you mean, That would also look good. The red would look bad with blue and white though.

Crap completely and utterly forgot about this :L sorry guys...
My opinion if you want it -
Version C, looking great and fading well. The colour is mature and sophisticated.
In terms of having the discourse thing on it I think it wouldn't go well, the D matches the spades and also is what symbolizes the discourse - almost like the karnival hornets - they didn't have karnival on it, they put little skulls to show it's theres and thats what the D's do here. It's your deck guys and feel free to do what you like, just be careful not to make it to gimmicky and merchandisy... It's the discourse deck because it's made from the hearts of the discourse, not because its the discourse's product line. I have always felt the decks that are logo'd or sloganed are a bit tacky myself - but once again up to you :)

Great Designs everyone, and I think it deserves special attention, great design Randy.

I thought it over and here's what I think. I do like the C better in fans, but we need to make sure it looks nice when holding a single card in our hand.
Also, I think we should do some changes to the "Discourse" running along the side. I just think it looks kinda awkward on version C. Maybe we could make the color a bit more turquoise-ish.
Finally, I really liked the little shape in the center of back B. Maybe we could put two Ds back to back, kinda like for D&D S&Ms.
I think version C is the way to go but I think it still needs some subtle changes. Also, @
Derek, why is it so pixelated?
@Krystle - When you have the time, will you be able to update Aetheria on your blog?
I know I am demanding for a lot, but I think our efforts will be worth it! :D

I like the idea of having discourse down the side, in a colour that goes with the design. I don`t really like the shapes being in it. But that is only me opinion, but I think it should get the back the same colour as the discourse. Then the deck will have an awesome back.

Here is kinda a timeline I came up with:

March 20- Try to be done at least 2 of the cards you are doing

April 20- Everyone be done their designs and people educated in Photoshop start making the designs usable

May 20- Be done making the cards look good

June 20- Be decided on where we are printing, How many decks we are printing

July 4- Launch the Kickstarter

That would give us plenty of time to get done our designs, We may even be done sooner :)

Derek, that back design is awesome, the colour is spot on and I think it should be left as is,

A lot of people on here are like:

You should do this blah blah,

I'd like to see this Blah blah,

Reality check people.

You've entrusted Derek to design the back, the designs he's posted throughout this thread have been brilliant yet theres alway at least one of you that has to stick your two cents in I'd find it demoralising to constantly have my designs, not criticised exactly but if I were Derek I'd feel my designs were never good enough.

Nathan you are the worst for this, you may be heading up this project, but this is not YOUR deck, it is a collaborative effort between Discourse members if enough members are happy with this design then let it be, otherwise if you keep asking for changes it will never get done.

Randy, those Sixes are frickin awesome dude!!!
